Doctor Who The Other (War) Doctor 5″ Figure
Available to order from www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk
The ‘Other Doctor’ is the Doctor’s dark chapter, an _hitherto unknown incarnation whose existence he has spent centuries repressing, a secret he wants no one to know of.
He is a relic of the past, part of the great Time War, when he spent centuries fighting alongside his fellow Time Lords against the Daleks and made the final decision to end it with a desperate act that cost that incarnation the right to use the name “Doctor”.
This haunted and battle-worn Other Doctor is finally forgiven after helping find a new solution to end the war, giving the Eleventh Doctor a new purpose as he heads into further adventures.

December 9th, 2013 - 7:59pmWhat are the bets that we’ll be getting a 8th Doctor figure from Night of the Doctor now? It just seems like a lot of work to go to, tooling a new head, if only to put it on a body that doesn’t match the screen.
the doctors death 2013
December 9th, 2013 - 6:48pmi wonder if the doctor changes time again so that he cant die on trenzalore and is it true that Clara is the doctors girlfriend i just went on a site and it said that Clara said she was the doctors girlfriend
#savetheday
December 10th, 2013 - 8:36pmIn the trailer, Clara says:
“This is the doctor, my boyfriend!”
So it is true.
TheExtremeBlueTARDIS
December 9th, 2013 - 6:21pmIs the Eleventh Doctor figure from The Snowmen still coming out?
Also nevermind the Other Doctor, we need a 5″ Clara as well!
Anonymous
December 10th, 2013 - 1:53pmIt was cancelled, although they also said we weren’t getting the War Doctor as a figure so you never know.

Danny Brown
December 10th, 2013 - 7:10pmThats what i was wondering but no one responded to my comment
the eternal doctor
December 9th, 2013 - 12:03pmgetting both of these so glad they are 5 inch are all figures 5 inch again please say yes
Danny Brown
December 9th, 2013 - 12:08pmno there not 5 inch again. the reason he’s 5 inch is because he’s after the 8th so it makes him a classic figure.
tom
December 8th, 2013 - 9:55pmAre the snowmen going to be in the christmas special?
Dr tyler
December 8th, 2013 - 10:38pmNo I think they were a one off
Johnny
December 9th, 2013 - 10:20amCareful not to discuss *any* spoilers.
James A
December 8th, 2013 - 9:27pmOkay NOW it looks like something CO would sculpt, the stretched one makes it look like one of those Disney Pirates of the Caribbean figures…
the astronaut of death
December 8th, 2013 - 7:19pmbooboo what is the difference between the 1st and 2nd image

December 8th, 2013 - 6:16pmIn the night of the doctor, you see john Hurt’s reflection, although it looked more like he did as a younger man in Alien…is this correct as I thought the doctors never really physically aged?
Whoisthedoctor
December 8th, 2013 - 6:27pmThey do but it takes centuries
Anonymous
December 8th, 2013 - 6:47pmTime Lords are in complete control of their aging process, or at least their physical aging, they could speed it up, slow it down or even stick it in reverse if they wanted.
However, it seems that if they spend too long in an older version of the form it takes its toll on them and eventually the body starts “wearing a bit thin”.
#savetheday
December 9th, 2013 - 5:25pmTom Baker and Peter Davison have been back but older.
Anonymous
December 9th, 2013 - 5:41pmTom Baker wasn’t playing the Fourth Doctor though.
Dalek Smith
December 8th, 2013 - 4:58pmThat does look better, I thought it were looking too wide.
Anonymous
December 8th, 2013 - 4:44pmNot trying to be rude or anything but Paul McGann looks FAT in Hurts outfit and really I think they should only release Hurt not McGann or release McGann in the actually outfit from the night of the doctor but they do look good except McGann just dosent look right in his outfit but couldn’t they put Ecclestons Head on it? It would look better then McGann dont you agree?
Ben
December 8th, 2013 - 4:51pmThat is what I thought until I decided to get them and put Ecclestons face on it
WouldYouLikeAJellyBaby
December 8th, 2013 - 4:53pmIt’s probably because we never got to see the end of The Regeneration from John Hurt to Christopher Eccleston that we don’t have The Ninth Doctor’s head.
Jamie
December 8th, 2013 - 4:59pmI would rather have a headsculpt of an older Paul McGann than another 9Th doctor.
Dalek the Supreme
December 8th, 2013 - 9:17pmI would have preferred a young War Doctor head, or a two-pack with McGann’s costume from Night of the Doctor, but hey, they’ve released a 2013 character from the New Series, so I’m not complaining! 😀
DoctorWho50
December 10th, 2013 - 7:40pmWell it is the 50th year of Doctor Who I had a hunch that a war doctor figure would be coming out and in 5 inch!
NCC1701D
December 8th, 2013 - 4:01pmThis is awesome, but I don’t get why it comes with the Eighth Doctor’s head as it’s too short to be Paul McGann and as we saw in the Night of the Doctor, Paul McGann never wore this costume, his was similar but not Hurt’s costume. It is cool all the same though and I’ll still get one.
booboo
December 8th, 2013 - 4:06pmit depend on the brief they were given months back when they would have had to start production. they may have jut been told here is the other Doctor, Paul McGann will regenerate into him!
either way it opens up other possibilities for the future
NCC1701D
December 9th, 2013 - 7:08pmGood point, hadn’t thought of that.
ParadigmDalek1325
December 8th, 2013 - 3:40pmNever realized that it was streched!

December 8th, 2013 - 3:58pmnever looked right to me, it was the Moment box, it looked all wrong, glad my eyes weren’t deceiving me

December 8th, 2013 - 4:03pmI thought it looked wrong but I couldn’t put my finger on what it was.
booboo
December 8th, 2013 - 4:10pmportrait image put in a square box, you actually see it quite often on websites where the pixel size is fixed, or you crop and image and over-right the original without changing the pixel dimensions on the page (i’m sure some know what i’m on about)
DrWhoTwins
December 8th, 2013 - 3:30pmReally want this, it would go great with the other Doctors.
Anonymous
December 8th, 2013 - 3:26pmYES he doesn’t look “wide” now!

December 8th, 2013 - 7:49pmNow all we need is the proper sonic screwdriver for him!

December 7th, 2013 - 8:03pmI am so happy this has come out I wonder if we will get a 3.75 inch one
CONNORTHEDOCTOR
December 7th, 2013 - 7:57pmFor some reason I think this figure is different that other 5″ figures
WouldYouLikeAJellyBaby
December 7th, 2013 - 7:58pmMe too… I think it’s the ball jointed arms.
CONNORTHEDOCTOR
December 7th, 2013 - 7:59pmMaybe, yeah
WouldYouLikeAJellyBaby
December 7th, 2013 - 8:02pmObviously to me it doesn’t detract anything from the Figure it is still very, very good. It’s also probably because this Figure is Brand New and I don’t think it reuses any existing parts from any other Figures.
LG
December 8th, 2013 - 3:18pmAs far as I can see, it only reuses Patrcik Troughton’s hands.
NKELZ
December 7th, 2013 - 4:53pmLooks pretty good, but not for me as I only collect classics
Explosive Cookie
December 8th, 2013 - 10:27amHes kind of the embodiment of the classic doctors if you think about it… Also does that mean you don’t have doctors 9-11?
Danny Brown
December 7th, 2013 - 4:37pmIs there any pictures of him in his packing yet?
Danny Brown
December 9th, 2013 - 11:55amAnyone?

December 10th, 2013 - 9:27amPlease?
doctor hugh
December 7th, 2013 - 3:43pmThis looks like a great figure. The body looks a bit big for the eighth doctor, but I’m happy that this is a 5 inch figure.
doctor hugh
December 7th, 2013 - 3:45pmThe 11th,10th and the war doctor doesn’t look great together due to their different sizes
Dominic Kane
December 7th, 2013 - 3:50pmWhat do you mean? No ones got this figure yet
morlu
December 7th, 2013 - 3:33pmHave pre ordered 2 of these right of the bat. Love that they have done this in the 5″ scale. Just hope they will eventually bring out a Capaldi 5″ Doctor too.
Mark T
December 7th, 2013 - 3:41pmone imagines a 5″ inch long term Capaldi investment would be viable and bring an inevitable 13 Doctors set a couple of years down the line
not sure how the wider UK independent retailers and smaller chains may be viewing this though, The only 2 major and lucrative releases (so far) from the special and they aren’t getting a look in.
76 Totters Lane
December 7th, 2013 - 1:11pmi am defiantly going to by 2, 1 as the other doctor and the other for my 8th doctor collection
John Hurt
December 7th, 2013 - 11:30am“Great men are forged in fire, it is the privalage of lesser men to light the flames”
Thank you Character Options
“Go back to your lives, go and be the Doctor I could never be. Make it worth while…”
John Hurt
December 7th, 2013 - 11:31am“You were the Doctor on the day it wasn’t possible to get it right”
Defender of Trenzalore
December 7th, 2013 - 6:59pm“I’m looking for The Doctor”
I just had to join in!
“Oh for Gods’ sake, Gallifrey stands!”
Ok, I’ll stop, that’ll be
“No More”
😀 😉 😛
Dalek the Supreme
December 7th, 2013 - 7:09pmI’ll put in my two quotes.
“I would have the Doctor’s head!” “Well! This has all the makings of your lucky day, then!”
“Yes! I demand to be incarcerated in the tower of London with my co-conspirators, Sand-Shoes and Granddad!” “Granddad?!” “They’re not sand shoes!” “Yes, they are!”
WouldYouLikeAJellyBaby
December 7th, 2013 - 7:56pm“Great men are forged in Plastic, and it is the privilege of lesser men to buy them off eBay.”

Yes!!!
Am I having a midlife crisis?!
Even him?!
What? Yes!

December 8th, 2013 - 2:57pm“I hope the ears are a bit less conspicuous this time…”
THE ergon
December 7th, 2013 - 11:29amDoes this mean they,re doing a u-turn regarding 5 inch figures then?. And will we get a clara in this form?
Dalek the Supreme
December 7th, 2013 - 7:11pmNo, they’re probably only making him in this scale because the monsters (mostly Daleks, of course) he would be fighting are in the 5-inch scale.
the ergon
December 9th, 2013 - 11:32amRather than mcgann,it would have made more sense, like mentioned previously,to have done a hurt and a freshly regenerated ecclestone figure and yes, done the mcgann separately.
dra
December 7th, 2013 - 11:27amdefinitely getting this. its amazing:grin:
The POW
December 7th, 2013 - 10:49amAs I believe someone else has already mentioned, but a young war doctors head would have been a better alternative. Mcgann deserves his own night of the doctor figure ( and Dark Eyes figure seeing as it’s now part of doctor who official history).
RexisnotyourDoctor
December 7th, 2013 - 2:46pmThere’s been speculation that CO didn’t have much to go on when designing the figure, and may have thought that A)Hurt was playing an older version of Eight, or B) the War Doctor’s costume was going to be what Eight was wearing prior to regeneration, and he just didn’t bother to change his outfit.
I agree with you though, I’d love a McGann figure in his NOTD costume. Paul seemed really chuffed with it in the interview they posted online this week, so I’m hoping he’s going to be shown wearing this in further BF releases.
Lolol1234589
December 7th, 2013 - 3:24pmAaah, this will all come soon! We can all have high hopes for a Capaldi figure and Clara! We don’t need Character Options any more. Undergound toys are all Doctor Who collecters heroes!
booboo
December 7th, 2013 - 3:27pmCharacter Options hold the licence and make them so we do rather need them
RexisnotyourDoctor
December 7th, 2013 - 3:30pmYeah, I can see a Capaldi 5″ being unveiled as an initial SDCC 2014 release or somesuch, to crank up excitement for the show’s return in the Autumn.
Dalek the Supreme
December 7th, 2013 - 7:12pmI’d like to see a 3.75 inch 13 Doctors set, with the rumors of the Classic Daleks in the new scale.
T4RD1S
December 8th, 2013 - 2:23pmthere should be a 3.75 inch 13 doctors set and a 5 inch 13 doctors set with
