Doctor Who The Other (War) Doctor 5″ Figure

Available to order from www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk

The ‘Other Doctor’ is the Doctor’s dark chapter, an _hitherto unknown incarnation whose existence he has spent centuries repressing, a secret he wants no one to know of.

He is a relic of the past, part of the great Time War, when he spent centuries fighting alongside his fellow Time Lords against the Daleks and made the final decision to end it with a desperate act that cost that incarnation the right to use the name “Doctor”.

This haunted and battle-worn Other Doctor is finally forgiven after helping find a new solution to end the war, giving the Eleventh Doctor a new purpose as he heads into further adventures.

Contents:
The Other Doctor Action Figure.
The Other Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver Accessory.

The picture of the figure on the Entertainment Earth site is probably the best one we’ll get prior to the release of the figure. Really looking forward to it.

I’m just hoping for a 5″ Capaldi figure. A Night of the Doctor Eighth Doctor and Series 7B Eleventh Doctor would be greatly appreciated too, but that is a push.

Ah..well, don’t get confused with regenerations and actual incarnations. 10 used two regenerations but the meta crises Doctor is not an incarnation. 10 siphoned off his first regeneration energy into his hand (a bio-matching receptacle), before he physically changed. His severed hand grew into another Doctor after Donna touched it whilst the regenerative energy still existed. Therefore the meta crisis doctor is freak creation and not an actual incarnation. 13 regenerations but 12 Doctors (including the War Doctor).

      January 6th, 2014 - 10:49pm

Actually, I made a typo…there were 12 regenerations (2 used on 10th Doctor) and 13 doctors (inc john hurt and peter Capaldi)

Indeed – a nice easy custom to make though (depending if the neck joints on this figure and a standard 9th Doctor figure are similar).

It’s a method of getting the heads off figures…place into a mug of boiling water for a minute or two and then pop off the head.

Why can’t they do a 5 inch Clara while they’re at it too?! And maybe just carry on doing all figures in 5 inch format seeing as they’re better that way…?

Who knows why they have not made a 5 inch Clara, most people seem to want one, maybe they’re release her at this years SDCC? After all companions figures of Leela and Ace were announced there over the past couple of years.

      January 6th, 2014 - 3:27pm

John hurt is counted as ‘classic’, and they are still releasing classic figures, but, as far as we know, no series 7+ figures will be made in 5″.

    • Gallifrey Falls No More

      January 6th, 2014 - 3:28pm

I hope, though, that they count her meeting the old Doctors in NOTD as classic and release her.

    • Anonymous

      January 6th, 2014 - 3:36pm

It’s not that John Hurt’s Doctor is counted as “classic” (he originates from Steven Moffat’s time on the show so he’s not classic), it is that UT wanted a figure of him.

There are really no limitations on what they can do, it is just that CO are not producing any 5” figures off their own back, so they will need to be exclusives and that range mainly focuses on older figures (but that doesn’t stop the occasional modern figure).

    • Mr Clever

      January 7th, 2014 - 10:48am

I really hope they release another wave or two

      New Timelord

They wanted to add something to the John Hurt figure, so they added a McGann swappable head, even if it is not 100% accurate.

    • Jaffa Cakes

      January 6th, 2014 - 8:07pm

I think Character Options will have just been told by the BBC that the War Doctor is an incarnation between the Eighth and Ninth Doctor and we will see the regeneration into him. They probably just naturally assumed that McGann would wear the War Doctor costume for the regen.

Dinosaurs on a Spaceship – The Doctor, Tricey, Brian, Soloman and a Pterodactyl.

The Rings of Akhaten – The Mummy, Dori, Mari Gallel/The Queen of Years (Is that her name?)

We don’t need more bronze Daleks in the new scale, since there are already three variants with three more on the way. I’d rather have us some of the metallic New Paradigm Daleks, so a truly modern army of Daleks could be created.

I would want a Time of the Doctor wave like they did with the 10th doctors final story (End of Time). And all these figures in 5 inch.I would have a:
Eleventh doctor with new suit with handles aswell. also interchangeable head with old doctor and a cane.
      Clara
12th doctor in Matt Smiths body
      A 2 pack:New Cybermen (2013) and Wooden Cybermen
      Silence

      December 28th, 2013 - 10:05pm

I would also have a 50th anniversary wave! in 5 inch. like they did in the 10th doctors final (End of Time). I would have a:
      Eleventh Doctor with new suit
      Clara
      A Zygon
Eigth Doctor (Night of the Doctor)!
A 2 pack: Tenth Doctor and John hurt without his jacket
A 2 pack: Timelord warrior and a Dalek
      Kate stewart
      Queen Elizabeth I

    • Connor

      December 31st, 2013 - 10:49pm

To be honest, a Time of the Doctor figure wave is possible, since it was done with Tennant’s last episode. It would have been even more likely if the main scale was still in 5″. My figure choices would be:

      Tasha Lem
      Clara Oswald (with cracker)
Eleventh Doctor (with two changeable heads, the aged and Capaldi versions plus comes with Handles)
      Wooden Cyberman
      Silence (new outfit)

      December 31st, 2013 - 10:52pm

Oh and I would love a 50th Anniversary wave, also still possible since they don’t get released this early. My choices in it would be:

      Eleventh Doctor (new outfit)
      Clara Oswald
2013 Zygon (with that 3D Painting cube thingy)
      Damaged Time War Dalek
Bad Wolf Rose (with open Moment Accesory)
      Time Lord Warrior (with blaster)
