The Official Twelfth Doctor’s Coat
Available to order from www.abbyshot.com
Keep up with the latest fashions across time and space by donning this well-crafted, perfectly tailored Twelfth Doctor’s Coat. It’s exquisitely replicated from the one worn by the adrenaline junkie himself, played by Peter Capaldi! If they don’t notice your inconspicuous TARDIS landing, they’ll definitely spot the dashing Doctor stepping out of it!
Possibly the favorite of all incarnations is this officially licensed, classic British overcoat. It comes in a deep navy blue wool with fierce red lining and navy buttons. The back vent and soft-to-the-touch fabric might not protect against Silurians, Cybermen or a rip in the timestream, but you’ll sure feel good putting it on every morning! It’s fitted too — meaning it won’t slip off and get lost, unlike your sonic screwdriver.
Turn heads on Gallifrey, Earth and everywhere (and everywhen) by snagging this stylish, officially licensed Twelfth Doctor’s Coat today!

August 14th, 2017 - 6:20pmI am and have been desperately looking for this Abbyshot coat in a XXL (or even a XL) size but cannot find it anywhere online, not even eBay, Etsy or anywhere for over a year and a half. If someone knows where there is an Abbyshot Official Twelfth Doctor’s Navy Blue with Red Lining a Ronnie coat, please let me know. I missed the short run Abbyshot did and they saw they “might” do another run of it but not for a year or longer at best, is there any info on this coat available for sale anywhere. Thank you very much.

May 2nd, 2016 - 11:56pmI recieved my coat a couple of months ago and I’m so glad I decided to get it. It’s wonderful..!
The material for the outside of the coat is softer than I thought it would be, yet it still feels strong; I feel like the coat will genuinely last as an actual everyday coat, as well as for conventions.
There are two inner pockets and two very large outer pockets, perfect for holding your Sonic Screwdriver (or Sunglasses, of course)!
The lining is fantastic, and isn’t just a solid bright red, like I’ve seen on many cheaper 12th Doctor coats, as someone else said, it has an inky look, which gives it a much more luxurious and screen accurate look.
Something which I especially love about this is all the subtle details which have been included, such as the lapel hole, lapel piping, and the buttons which look very accurate compared with the ones from the show, and the coat even includes the red 3rd button on each sleeve. It’s the attention to detail really makes me justify why I spent more than I normally would on any Doctor Who clothing.
I’m quite small and I ordered the XS, and the sleeves are still a tad too long (Room for growth, hopefully..!) , but it still has an almost bespoke look to it especially around the shoulders and back, and when the coat is buttoned, the front fits great.
Overall a great buy, and it’s totally worth the money, if you’re willing to treat yourself to it!

February 20th, 2016 - 8:51amI received mine today. To be honest….I love it! I’m an owner of a lot of custom made versions of this coat and that Elope version so the second I put this on for the first time it was so easy to spot how accurate it is to the screen used coat. The red lining isn’t just a simple set red shade …it’s got that nice inky effect and of course it runs right to the edge of the coat. I think it’s fair to say this is the best version of the coat to get. Comparing this Abbyshot version to any other versions really highlights how much care Abbyshot took in getting every detail right. The lapels are perfectly shaped, they’re also perfectly sized, it has the button hole, the buttons on the sleeves are fully functional so you have the option to have either 3 or 5 closed. I got an XS size and it fits lovely.
It also came very quick (I ordered it Thursday and it came the very next day ). I recommend this one totally and I will be wearing it everywhere I have the opportunity to.

January 8th, 2016 - 11:41pmWhy are people saying he probably won’t wear this again? Just because he’s had a red coat for the last few episodes, that doesn’t mean this one is gone… It didn’t get destroyed or worn onscreen, did it?

January 15th, 2017 - 11:18pmHe just likes to change it up I guess, he’s had the red coat for the last few episodes, then for Series 10 he has a few new coats, one that’s black with red lining that we say in The Return of Doctor Mysterio, and then on that’s black with blue lining.

January 4th, 2016 - 6:42amAbout a year too late?
I actually preferred this coat to the red velvet version – I thought it was going to be the 12th Doctor’s “signature piece” -, but I don’t see it making a return during Peter Capaldi’s remaining run.
I think there’s been too much chopping and changing with both Doctors’ looks during the Moffat era – apart from anything else it dates the merchandise too quickly, which isn’t fair in the case of the more expensive items. I feel sorry for the people who bought the Big Chief 12th Doctor, ‘cos by the time it was available it had the Doctor wearing a version of his costume he eventually only wore for one – and – a – bit episodes. Not Big Chief’s fault of course.
David Tennant essentially had the same look going out of the role that he’d had coming into it over four years earlier – pinstripe suit, big coat, Chuck Taylors. That’s why his look is as iconic in its own way as Jon’s capes and smoking jackets and Tom’s scarves and frock coats. Sorry to witter on but it’s something that’s bugged me increasingly in recent years.

January 4th, 2016 - 10:43pmIf you look at Jon Pertwee’s and Tom Baker’s outfits throughout their eras each had over a half dozen distinctively different outfits. Actually Hartnell and Troughton have a load of outfits, especially Troughton. Capaldi follows the looong tradition of variations on his outfits. Peter Davison had 3 slightly different alterations to the same basic costume, Colin Baker was Rainbow Nightmare with Tie and pin variations, vest variations, suspenders, McCoy had 2 different outfits, McGann had 4 different outfits, The war doctor had 2 outfits, Eccleston stayed the same, tennant had atleast 3 different suits, one without pin stripes, 2 different pair of converse, and Matt Smith had 5 different costumes along with variations of each…not to mention the regular Tuxedos Tennant and Smith cameoed in. Then there is the space suits and I could go on;) That all allows us to go crazy with our Cosplay. You can have multiple Capaldi’s show up at a covention, some of them as season 8 episode 1, some as season 9 episode 7, christmas special, Etc.Etc.

January 6th, 2016 - 4:20pmIt makes perfect sense to me. Do you wear the exact same clothes every day? No. That would be silly.
Mad Psientist
January 7th, 2016 - 12:13amNo, but then I don’t have a multi – media merchandising industry basing product on my day – to – day wardrobe. Pretty much every item of merchandise based on Capaldi’s Doctor – action figures, T – shirts, vinyls – were initially based on that one image we got in January 2014. By Robot of Sherwood it had gone, never to return. Even the Crombie’s gone now. It’d be like if Tom had traded in his scarf for a poncho after his second year.
Of course the previous Doctor switched out their costume elements throughout their run, but they remained ‘variations on a theme’, that’s why I referred to “smoking jackets” and “scarves” in the plural. Peter Capaldi’s been through so many costume changes in two season’s I’m not sure his Doctor’s got a theme any more.
All this rebooting of costume designs may be great if you’re an adult cosplayer with enough disposable income to accommodate the changes. It’s a bit less fun if you’re a working parent trying to juggle living expenses with the latest merchandising must – have of your Who – mad offspring, only to find it’s been obsoleted before it even reaches your doorstep :(.

January 4th, 2016 - 5:39amI have to say while this one is pretty nice, I prefer the one Crombie made for Capaldi. They use to offer the same coat on their site but seem to have ceased production. They do have two that are really cool variations of a similar design.

January 3rd, 2016 - 12:23pmThis is awesome! But a little out of my price range. At the Doctor Who Festival last year Abbyshots were selling some of their jackets at a slightly cheaper price, so fingers crossed they’ll have it there this year (If there’s going to be another Who festival).
