The Claws Of Axos Special Edition DVD

The Claws Of Axos Special Edition DVD

Released on 22 October 2012.

An approaching Alien spaceship is detected on monitoring equipment at UNIT HQ, where the Brigadier is entertaining two visitors – Chinn, a civil servant making a security inspection, and Bill Filer, an American agent sent to discuss the threat of the Master. The Ship lands in England and the UNIT team, joined by Hardiman and Winser from the nearby Nuton power station, meet its occupants: beautiful golden-skinned humanoids called Axons.

The Axons claim that their ship, Axos, is damaged and that they need time in which to repair it. In return, they offer Axonite, a substance that can cause animals to grow to enormous sizes and thus end food shortages. The Doctor is suspicious, and rightly so: Axos, Axonite and the Axons – whose true appearance is hideous – are all part of a single parasitic entity brought to Earth by the Master to feed on the planet’s energy.

The Doctor manages to materialise his TARDIS, with the Master on board, at the centre of Axos. He offers to link the two ships together to make one giant time machine, on condition that Axos in return helps him to take revenge on the Time Lords for exiling him to earth. This is merely a trick, however, and Axos is locked in a time loop from which it can never escape. The Doctor returns to Earth in the TARDIS, where he reluctantly admits to the Brigadier that the Master may also have escaped.

do you think the underwater menace ep 2 will be released separately or released with ep 3, with possible animations?

I think this could be the dream release dan hall mentioned at the recon event for the aniversary release.ie a story that majority of fandom wont have seen 75 percent of plus it will be the closest to a completely unseen story as he is going to get. animation is certainly possible as it fits in with what dan hall mentioned about animation. Anything over 2 episodes will be extremely unlikely to financially happen. And as there are 2 eps missing its certainly possible

So is the story good ?

I have seen some of it on youtube and wasn’t very fond of it, the ending didn’t bring a smile to my face.

Whilst it’s nice to see the re-releases of old stories already released, I’d rather be seeing the eventual releases of The Tenth Planet, The Ice Warriors and Mind of Evil – I notice there are still no dates suggested for these three stories, other than one being a possible 2014 release. Underwater Menace obviously coming out with The Moonbase re-release.

Not ncessary. Due to the cost of animation i expect underwater menace and moonbase solo. Mind of evil is confirmed for a release at some point in 2013. Im expecting no official announcment on tenth planet or ice warriors till reign of terror is out as an anouncment on those before reign is released could overshaddow as they are more anticipated than reign

Moonbase re-release? Interesting idea but l doubt it most of that is on Lost in Time including audio (i think correct me if l’m wrong) anyhow now that we know Airlock is to be released on The Aztecs Special Edition the question remains how Underwater Menace Episode 2 is to be released, l’m betting possibly with the remains of the Ice Warriors although it’d would be a big release if they choose to animate the missing episodes on the Ice Warriors. What do you think?
