Doctor Who Claws of Axos Figure Set

Available to order while stocks last from www.amazon.co.uk

In this Third Doctor adventure an approaching alien spaceship lands in England and the UNIT team meet its occupants: Beautiful golden-skinned humanoids called Axons. The Axons claim that their ship, Axos, is damaged and that they need time in which to repair it. In return, they offer Axonite, a substance that can cause animals to grow to enormous sizes and thus end Earth’s food shortages.

claws-large

The Doctor is suspicious, and rightly so: Axos, Axonite and the Axons – whose true form is that of hideous tentacle monsters – are all part of a single parasitic entity brought to Earth by the Master to feed on the planet’s energy.

The Doctor links his and the Master’s TARDIS’s together to make one giant time machine in order to help Axos – but on condition that they assist him in taking revenge on the Time Lords for exiling him to Earth. But, this is merely a trick, and Axos is locked in a time loop from which it can never escape.

Contents:
1 x Brigadier action figure in jersey with U.N.I.T. beret and pistol.
1 x Jo Grant action figure.
1 x Axon in Humanoid form action figure.

I’ve had this email from forbiddenplanet.com after asking about why they have no date on their site:

    Hi Scott,

Thank you for your email. I have looked into this for you and it appears that the suppliers have not yet given us a shipping date for this item. We only have one website http://www.forbiddenplanet.com I think you may have been looking on Forbidden Planet International which is a separate company that we are not affiliated with. We will update our website with any new information we receive.

Guys no word of a lie and even though I’ve read a few people’s comments on delaying this Set that isn’t true… Because unless they haven’t changed the Pre-order date to 2013 yet then you can order this Set now!!!

I’d like to see two SDCC End of Time sets.

The End of Time Part One Set:
The Tenth Doctor from the start of the episode in long coat
    Male Vinvocci
    Female Vinvocci
Wilfred Mott with removable reindeer hat thing

The End of Time Part Two Set:
The Master with swappable skeleton head, completely blonde hair and electric shock hands
Normal Time Lord with gold headpiece
The Mysterious Woman in white costume
    Donna Noble

I know none of them changed but each figure could come with a swappable Master head and you could have your own Master race!

Oh, I can’t wait for this set to come out, it’s my most anticipated one this year! I agree with everyone, we should have a set for each Doctor because of the 50th, but they must be all 5″! Here’s my ideas:

An Unearthly Child – I can only think of Susan, Ian and Barbara.

    Adventures of the 2nd Doctor:
    Jamie, Yeti, Ice Warrior Lord

Dr Who and the Silurians – Third Doctor in mining outfit, Liz Shaw and a Silurian

The Talons of Weing Chang – Fourth Doctor, Leela and the Chinese Magician with accessories.

I can’t think of any Fifth and Sixth.

Dimensions In Time – The Rani, Seventh Doctor, Fifth Doctor and Tegan or Liz.

Enemies of the 9th Doctor – Auton Bride, Margaret with revealed Slitheen Arm, Adherent of the Repeated Meme.

Adventures of the 10th Doctor – Tenth Doctor with 3D Glasses, Donna (pink dress from TUATW), Tritovore and Cybershade.

I don’t know if I’m the only one really annoyed at the change in scale yes some sets look alright but they should have started with that Im sick of the new series merchandise being all about getting as much out of our pockets as possible and when I was on the FP website I saw the 3 Doctors set due release date then nothing now I have missed it wich I am really annoyed because I wanted them to geo with my collection, also unless your willing to pay about 35-50 pound I dounbt they’ll release more than 3 figures per pack, there ruining all the fan

If they make a movie set with the Seventh Doctor, the Eight Doctor jacketless and the Master, should they have Grace ?

Grace was only in one story, and if they made her it wouldn’t be fair they didn’t make Yee Jee Tso aswell, so it’s a tough one ❗

Maybe they should make two sets for the movie, the Master had two main outfits, then you have the Tardis, The Eighth Doctor jacketless, the serpent master, the Seventh Doctor and Grace. that’s far too much for just one set ❗

If they made 2 TV Movie sets, one should have The 8th Doctor, Grace, and Yee Jee Tso, or at least just the Doctor and Grace. The second should have The Seventh Doctor, the Master (in Time Lord robes), and an electronic TV Movie TARDIS playset.

    • McGann is The Doctor

      March 30th, 2013 - 2:46pm

Cool, but I think if it was the Tardis interior, it would have to be a seperate thing. That set is MASSIVE, you see.

      March 11th, 2013 - 5:56pm

Then what after that I hope they do a 4th set from remembrance of the daleks(in my opinion it could be the last set from that story) which has a destroyed renegade dalek and Ace( With bat and cans of nitro 9)

    • josh smith

      March 13th, 2013 - 6:32am

what do you mean with the proper sutech we have a sutek already

    • McGann is the Doctor

      March 14th, 2013 - 2:23pm

LG means Sutehk as he appeared for most of the story, and given that Remembrance of the Daleks was a 7th Doctor story I am confused by what Joe has said.

If they do yet another Remembrance set I hope they make Ace from a different story, I didn’t like her hairstyle in that story, she looks better in her other stories.

    • Joe

      March 14th, 2013 - 7:39pm

When I meant another set from remembrance of the daleks I meant a 4th set from this story I know it’s a seventh dr story the reasons why I decide to put these 2 together is because

      1) a renegade dalek would be fair as we have a imperial dalek (that’s destroyed)
      2) Because I like Ace and we only saw that bat in that story and we won’t get it if see was to come from a different story

    • Anonymous

      March 14th, 2013 - 7:49pm

Just because it only appeared in one story hasn’t stopped them from throwing it into another set unconnected to the story.

Normally it is on the grounds that it isn’t a story set, they’ve just decided to stick the name of the story one character comes from (such as the recent Doctor/Dalek twin packs or the SDCC pack with the Fifth Doctor and The Master from Planet of Fire, not to be confused with The Fifth Doctor and The Master from Planet of Fire (which apparently means something different even though it looks exactly the same)).

    • Dalek The Supreme

      March 18th, 2013 - 6:01am

If they made a fourth Remembrance set, it should have Ace and a re-release of either the normal Imperial Dalek or the Special Weapons Dalek. I think they only made a destroyed Imperial Dalek because of the fact they could add an articulated claw arm.

      Oh if only.

BTW the raston things in Earthshock are the androids which serve the Cybermen. They would actually make good figures cause they are totally black and would be hard to see in a dark spot.

They should make an Earthshock set with Cyberleader, the two androids and maybe Adric.

    • McGann is the Doctor

      March 8th, 2013 - 11:40am

P.S the Ninth Doctor never took his jacket off.

They need to make him with his black jumper, they haven’t made one of him in his black jumper that has full articulation.

And for Trial of a Timelord they should have that huge ROBOT from the first four parts 🙂

    • The Greater Intelligence

      March 9th, 2013 - 4:40am

‘The Mysterious Planet’ is my second favorite story from ‘Trial’ and one of my favorite Colin Bakers of them all; I think they could honestly make a set of Peladons (Alpha Centauri, Ageddor, Ice Lord) or of the ‘E-Space Trilogy’ (Marshman, Vampire, Tharil).

      March 9th, 2013 - 2:48pm

The Mysterious Planet might just be my favorite Colin Baker story. Also, the robots would be good figures, and the Valeyard is a villain too good (Or should I say evil?) NOT to be a figure! And let’s not forget Colin Baker in my favorite version of his outfit. 😀

    • Dalek The Supreme

      March 9th, 2013 - 2:51pm

Also, Greater Intelligence, that Peladon set is too good an idea not to happen! 😀

    • McGann is the Doctor

      March 10th, 2013 - 3:20am

      That’s great you guys agree.

I hadn’t seen a 9th Doctor story for atleast two years, but that moment must have been very brief.

I always thought CO were bound to make a Sherlock-Holmes Doctor from Talons of Weng Chiang, but ofcourse they couldn’t call it that, they would just have to say “4th Doctor from Weng Chiang”.

If they do make such a set, lets hope there is that chinese magician guy (can’t remember his name) and not a giant rat ❗

    • The Greater Intelligence

      March 11th, 2013 - 12:49am

Mr. Li L’Sen Chang and I wish they would make some of the older villians that weren’t as popular. Like the Monoids, Voords, Sensorites, Koquillion, Monoids, Zarbis, Macra, Fish People, Chamelions, Quarks, even Krotons. Some 1960s villans would be cool ona shelf in full color and plastic.

yes now they have now but in 2011 they really put up the prices on the classic figure set but now they are fine.

Just worried if more of these sets come out and may keep puting up a £ the next set maybe £28.99

I think they should settle down with the Pertwee era. William and Sylvester only have Daleks and Cybermen from their eras, and most of them don’t even have companions! I want:
*Curse of Fenric set (Ace, preferably in her bomber jacket, Haemovore, Ancient One)
*Mysterious Planet set (The Immortal, Service Robot, red tie Colin, and Valeyard)
*Five Doctors (Raston Warrior Robot, Tegan, Borusa)
*Earthshock set (Cyberleader, Android, Cyberman w/Thermo Lance)
*Pyramids of Mars set (Sutekh w/mask, Doctor no hat, Sarah Jane)

    • Dalek The Supreme

      March 22nd, 2013 - 5:18pm

      (Continued)
*Wheel In Space set (Second Doctor, Zoe, and Cyberman w/Cybermats)
*The Abominable Snowmen set (Jamie, Victoria, and Yeti w/Great Intelligence Spheres)
*The Sensorites set (Ian, Barbara, and Sensorite
*The Daleks set (Susan, Thal, Dalek, and Dalek w/cutter arm)
*TV Movie set (Seventh Doctor, the Master in Time Lord robes, and TARDIS playset
*TV Movie set 2 w/8th Doctor and Grace

On second thought, I MIGHT get this set, but only if I don’t already have the Three Doctors set.

i think we need some unit soldiers next to go with the brigadier but a classic tardis console set and a bessie are what id like to see made the most at the moment

yes that would be cool displaying the brig with unit soldiers around him!!!

i bet bessie would be a lot to make.

id pay over 40 pound for bessie there is a prototype of bessie but it was never put into production maybe one day they will but i definately think we need unit soldiers like benton and yates to go with him

I think a UNIT set w/Benton, Yates, and Bessie. AFTER they make some non Pertwee figures. They’re really overdoing it with his and Tom’s eras but under-doing it with the 60’s and 80’s Doctors.

Much better than the Three Doctors set which didn’t even have any Doctors, but it’s not released until JULY ? 😯

He meant that set was called the Three DOCTORS set and it didn’t contain any of the DOCTORS seeing as the episode contained 3 of them

      Thanks Commander Sykikera.

Is Three Doctors worth watching ? I dislike Troughton’s Doctor.

yes watch it it has a great mystery and acting from all doctor’s and more importantly the final time Hartnell was seen on screen

Allright, I should get it for the 50th anniversary.

Only thing is: Then I would have to get that Omega figure and I’m worried that if I get it, all the other figures will seem inferior to it: It’s such a dynamic figure, the fabric and the detail, everything else would just pale in comparison 😯

    • Dalek The Supreme

      March 22nd, 2013 - 5:22pm

If you see a figure you like, I recommend you try and get it. Omega is too epic not to get.
