Doctor Who Claws of Axos Figure Set

Available to order while stocks last from www.amazon.co.uk

In this Third Doctor adventure an approaching alien spaceship lands in England and the UNIT team meet its occupants: Beautiful golden-skinned humanoids called Axons. The Axons claim that their ship, Axos, is damaged and that they need time in which to repair it. In return, they offer Axonite, a substance that can cause animals to grow to enormous sizes and thus end Earth’s food shortages.

claws-large

The Doctor is suspicious, and rightly so: Axos, Axonite and the Axons – whose true form is that of hideous tentacle monsters – are all part of a single parasitic entity brought to Earth by the Master to feed on the planet’s energy.

The Doctor links his and the Master’s TARDIS’s together to make one giant time machine in order to help Axos – but on condition that they assist him in taking revenge on the Time Lords for exiling him to Earth. But, this is merely a trick, and Axos is locked in a time loop from which it can never escape.

Contents:
1 x Brigadier action figure in jersey with U.N.I.T. beret and pistol.
1 x Jo Grant action figure.
1 x Axon in Humanoid form action figure.

Not sure if I want this set. Usually I would really want it, but I litrally just got the 3 doctors set and don’t really want it just for a few diffrences. Also I don’t think the Brigs headsculpt looks as good without the cap on.

      well a waste of money

unless they do a jon in red coat ill buy it separately

    • Anonymous

      March 7th, 2013 - 8:07pm

I’d hardly say it was a waste of money, if people are wanting it then they’ll do whatever it takes to make more money.

    • Josh smith

      March 7th, 2013 - 10:43pm

Why get MORE doctor figures when they should be using there money to make in seen figures instead

    • Commander Syjikera

      March 8th, 2013 - 8:20am

      I think/hope they will be doing a:

      Richard Hurndall Dr
      Troughton in Fur coat
      Pertwee in Red Coat
Tom Baker Serious face without hat from Seeds of Doom
      Davison in Cricket Jumper
      Colin Baker coatless
McCoy with serious face with hat
      Dark Eyes McGann
      Coatless Eccelston
      Clean End of Time Tennant
      Snowmen Smith

    • booboo

      March 8th, 2013 - 9:12am

dont think you will get Richard Hurndall, apparently it never got to the tooling stage which is the expensive part.

    • McGann is the Doctor

      March 8th, 2013 - 11:34am

Most people do want more Doctor figures to represent the Doctor from different times in his life, and you have to admit they are getting better at making the Doctor figures.

Here’s what I hope they make:
Pertwee in Red jacket from Time Monster
Tom Baker smiling face no hat and the new scarf sculpt from Androids of Tara.
Davison with cricket jumper and no jacket
Colin Baker from Mysterious planet (bigger hair and blue tie with red waistcoat and gre)
      McCoy from the Movie
      Dark Eyes McGann
      Eccleston black jumper
      Smith from Closing Time

A few years back there was absolutely nothing like this in the Doctor Who market available to buy.

I for one, feel lucky that a company has still decided to actually make these figures from decades ago.

With the announcement of the change in scale I was happy they decided to keep the Classic as a 5″ range.

Many times before, it has been said that the option is something or nothing – I would rather have the ‘something’ to choose from.

no id rather have nothing as then another comapny would take over like we saw with dapol and product enterprise

    • Luke

      March 7th, 2013 - 7:15am

Radburn is right, we’re lucky to have the choice of figures.

If Character didn’t make them then we’d probably have no figures. Dapol and Product Enterprise mainly made Daleks which we already have plenty of. Plus the Daleks were just repaints, very cheap to make really.

If another company took over we’d probably have no classics, if we did they’d be 3.75″ as that seems the standard which means collecting all over again.

Looks a great set anyway, we’ll be getting it! 🙂

    • josh smith

no i mean prouct enterprise took over form dapol and underground toys took over from prduct enterprice

This is a sort of “eh” set. I want it for the new (better) Joe, but then again I already have one and the Brig already. Plus I think the Axon humanoid shouldn’t have bicep and thigh joints, it looks to weird. If I didn’t already have the Three Doctor’s set I would pick this up.

Not difficult as other toy lines have done those kind of paintjobs in 5″-6″ scale. However its most likely not very cost effective for them.

      March 8th, 2013 - 1:33pm

thats why they have reduced the price by a considerable amount for classic 3 packs. i think enemies of the 3rd doctor set was £40 because of the drashig. dont see why it hadd to be 40 quid though

Why are people saying these are accurate while the Brig is admittedly rather good the figure of Jo is nothing like and the Axons articulation make it simply ridiculous – at least as anything other than a toy…. And I thought these were being marketed as items for serious collectors… not the kiddies play room. Im wondering if they simply remodelled heads from Host robots. They really ought to focus on the robotic monsters and figures where the articulation doesnt look so ridiculous…
