Order your copy Here.

Stamp & Coin Mart are giving away the FULL SET of 17 Doctor Who stamp postcards, each showing a stamp from the forthcoming Doctor Who issue as well as a selection of enemies. The fantastic free gift comes courtesy of Royal Mail.

Also in the May issue…

We take a look at the appearance of the Penny Black in May, 1840 The arrival of the 1d black is now celebrated around the world as a defining moment in postal history, but what was the reaction to the 1d stamp at the time?

In another fascinating feature we find out what the newspapers, people and politicians thought of the new invention.

One man who may have expected more credit for the postage stamp was James Chalmers, who some argue came up with the idea before Rowland Hill. In another fascinating article we examine the ongoing debate on who invented the postage stamp and assess whether some innovators have been written out of the history books.

Bringing GB stamps up to date, we examine the latest ‘Great Britons’ to be honoured by Royal Mail and bring you more, exclusive details of the highly anticipated Doctor Who stamps

Elsewhere in the packed issue, we provide a comprehensive guide to the stamps of Vatican City, take a look at science fiction on stamps, and look at the intriguing Roman coins of Gallineus, making May’s Stamp & Coin Mart another must-read issue

Stamp & Coin Mart have sold out of copies of the May issue with this promotion, but copies are still available at WH Smiths and Sainsbury’s.

Phew!…Only noticed this Postcard set with this magazine a few days ago on this very website. So I went up to my local WH Smith and managed to buy one of the two copies left on the shelf! Woo Hoo! So as well as having the stamps themselves I also now have the lovely postcard collection as well! Plus when you consider the set of cards with the magazine only cost £3.50 I feel I’ve got myself a bargain. The price is nearer £10.00 upwards for this postcard set online!

You can get the magazine from most WH Smiths, from Sainsbury’s and from independent newsagents.

You can also order direct from the Stamp & Coin Mart website:

I got these today. I wouldn’t say they were worth the £3.50 but still worth getting!

To buy these postcards from the Post Office cost £7.65, and there were not enough to go around. I could not get a set from 8 Post Offices I tried. Forbidden Planet are selling sets for £12.99 as are other places.

I personally think that Stamp & Coin Mart have been exceedingly generous in having a 17 post-card set.

It is probably the best Doctor Who related free gift there has ever been, and if not, then certainly the most worthwhile.

I’m delighted with with mine for £3.50, especially as they were over £7 from RM and they are sold out anyway.

Good read about them in the magazine as well

Glad it’s not just me booboo! I got my stamps from the Post Office in the store I work in, along with the postcards and the first day covers. Because it’s not a crown Post Office they weren’t stocking the prestige packs so I ordered one from Royal Mail on 26th March… had nothing in the post at all yet. Got my first day covers back about two weeks after I sent them, which was quite a lengthy wait, but I thought I’d have the prestige pack by now considering the site said up to 5 working days. It’s been about 15 now. :l

I’d have thought this kind of magazine would be available in a specialist magazine shop like WH Smith as they cover this kind of this. I can’t see any regular supermarket or corner shop having it as its a specialist magazine and only usually stamp collectors would be buying it!

I know. My local Co-op didn’t have it in, it only had the kiddies magazines, newspapers, the motorbike/ok/hello/grown up magazines and sticker albums. and my two local newsagents had the same, but a bigger variety of magazines and neither had this stamp magazine in. The only stamp magazine was ‘The Stamp Magazine’… 🙁 Bit disappointed but never mind… I’ll try again tomorrow.
