Before I begin the saga of contacting Amazon, does anyone here know if Amazon automatically reduce the price of pre orders if they were ordered when this was full price. Or is it best to cancel and re order at the new price?

that’s a good question, on pre-orders you always pay the lowest advertised price between when you ordered and despatch, not sure if that’s the same on “temporally out of stock” price though

I doubt it will be rare. You can get the 12th Doctor in hoodie for £10, and thats been out for over a year

Sadly, I feel they may have missed the boat with this figure and It’s 6 months too late. £12.96 for one figure that a lot of us now own from the b&m set might make this one struggle which is a real shame because it looks great.

ironically its probably this “full price” release that allowed the B&M budget Bill to even happen

      August 21st, 2018 - 9:52am

Maybe this Bill figure and the 3rd with Tardis were meant to be toys r us exclusives, but when it went into administration Character had to look elsewhere for retailers. Hence the delay in getting them to Amazon?

    • booboo

      August 21st, 2018 - 9:56am

could be, could also have been the 4th “cancelled” figure by underground toys the prototype has been around for ages, the date shows this figure was made in March, a month before that dates on the B&M sets

Can I just ask, as i didnt collect the range, what primeval figures have been used to contribute to this figure? I know the waist down is Abby, but whats the top half of?

    Reply
    • Shane Cook

      August 21st, 2018 - 5:35am

The whole body neck down is Abby. Her thicker sleeved tank top can be soon around the shoulders, they have just painted it skin colour and painted thinner straps. Only NEW part is Pearl’s head.

    • Shane Cook

      August 21st, 2018 - 5:36am

seen not soon, stupid predictive text

    • Shane Cook

      August 21st, 2018 - 5:45am

Actually the Arms might be from somewhere else, but the torso is definately Abby

    • TheAgeOfUltron

      August 21st, 2018 - 8:29am

The torso (which has been slightly updated to match the straps) and the legs were used on Abby, the arms (I think were from the Astrid figure and I don’t know where the shoulders are from.

P.s They have also changed the torso again as the Abby figure’s head was on a ball joint before but now they have removed the neck as her head and neck are a singular piece.

    • Dan

      August 22nd, 2018 - 9:13am

The entire body except for the head is from Abby, all they’ve done is sand down the sleeves from the upper arm, removed the wrist articulation and, of course, add a new head. While the torso looks to have been altered, the neck line is sculpted and was like that on Abby but the other lines are just painted on.

    • TheAgeOfUltron

      August 22nd, 2018 - 9:24am

Dan, they aren’t the same forearms, they are slightly more wider and the head and neck on the Abby were not the same piece.

    • The Living Shadow

      August 23rd, 2018 - 3:50pm

The shoes are from the series 2 Abby figure, with the torso and legs bring series 1. The neck has been modified though as, from my memory, Abby’s head articulation came from the top of the neck and not the middle, like Bill!

Finally! Prefer this version of the Bill figure. The outfit choice definitely fits Bill’s personality more. Shame they couldn’t of had her have swappable arms and remove able jacket like the Jo Grant figure.

I,m not keen on those. You can never get the arms to stay in once you take them out. its the same with the ace figure. I,d just prefer a standard variant.

    • Doctor Stu

      August 20th, 2018 - 7:30pm

And the constant removing and swapping of the arms would eventually break them and you’d end up with armless Bill

Tbh I think the b and m bill has more detail as the use of paint apps really helps the figure such as on her jeans there is a denim wash instead of plain black and the shoes look worn instead of plain

Nardole would be ideal next although that and future releases would most likely be under the new universal branding.

  • funkadelicish

    August 20th, 2018 - 2:27pm

My head is saying ‘Buy this so that Amazon do more figures’, but I can’t help but feel satisfied enough with the B&M variant for less than half the price. Like, I’m so happy to have a Bill figure, but not sure I need another one as well. A shame with the timing of this release, beaten to it by B&M

I honestly don’t know all we are waiting for is for Amazon to update the listing with the official images and date which they have been sent, ball and time scale entirely in their court, bottom line is we won’t show the images until they do.

    • The Friend

      August 18th, 2018 - 12:00pm

I’d chuckle a little bit if some high up Amazon employees were holding this website in similarly big regard, having conversations like: “Hey Dave, shall we put the Bill figure up today?”, “Not yet Steve, we’re waiting for the Doctor who site to update their post with the official images and date which they have been sent, ball and time scale entirely in their court. Bottom line is we won’t show the images until they do!”.
      Hehe. Would be amusing.

Things like that have probably happened (Although not in this case we haven’t been sent the date !) its bit like cars all waiting at a roundabout seeing who will go first
