I want a twin pack of a battered Peter Capaldi and regenerated Jodie Whittaker. Also, I miss TARDIS interior sets (not re-releases). Alas, it is too late to ask for a 12th Doctor TARDIS, as the TARDIS interior is changing…

I think we need an Omega from Arc of Infinity, a Silurian and possible a God of Ragnarok. That will complete my Christmas!

Just thought of the Terileptil, Zarbi, Koquillion. I’ve wanted to see a figure of the latter for a while.

No, they have totally given up on classic figures. It’s not happening.

the story is that they just stopped selling in the USA in sufficient numbers and as they were co funded but UT at the time they became non-viable

The UK market is strong for classic stuff but its just not big enough on its own at the Moment.

I hope Chibnall brings all the characters I mentioned earlier back so Character will make figures of them. (As long as he doesn’t ruin them like he did with the Silurians).

I think CO have chosen that costume variant in particular because they can then release a repainted Series 9 Twelfth Doctor in hoodie variant to resemble the costume he wore in Smile and at the beginning of Thin Ice alongside it.

      December 26th, 2017 - 6:00pm

Agreed I preferred if they did her in the denim jacket and graphic shirt underneath, then again it looks like now they have the mould all CO need now is new torso and arm moulds.

      December 26th, 2017 - 6:32pm

His outfit from extremis would make sense, since the burgundy coat is the same length as the blue one. Whereas the black one from the beginning of series 10 is longer.

If so it’s been heavily modified as the only thing that actually the same is the legs, the arms and body look similar but are significantly different.

This was unexpected. The sculpt looks great, but that may be because it’s a prototype as the wrists look to be part of the sculpt for the arms as there’s no cut for articulation. It looks like a good sign that we’ll be seeing figures in some form whether that be a wave or alongside a couple of Series 10 Twelfth Doctor variants. The fact it’s been shown makes me think that something will be announced within the coming month, possibly at Toy Fair for a release date of February like this year’s Tenth Doctor in Tuxedo and Twelfth Doctor Series 9 variants or if it’s a wave of figures then it may be held back until September to coincide with Series 11 airing.

I’d hope we see the next wave at the Toy Fair, if they have a prototype of Bill ready to go, I’d think they might have some others.

    • WouldYouLikeAJellyBaby?

      December 26th, 2017 - 4:00pm

The question is what those figures could be. I’m hoping for a Regenerated Thirteenth Doctor figure, but that depends on whether CO have put the money into giving the figure it’s own sculpt and whether they’re saving it for later in the year or not. I suspect we’ll see at least two Twelfth Doctor variants to be on show alongside this, but I don’t think they’ll be anything major like a Nardole, 2013 Cyberman or Series 10 Master.

    • DoctorSong2016

      December 26th, 2017 - 4:41pm

I think it’s very likely there’ll be a Hoodie Twelve painted to look like his costume from Smile, especially to go with this Bill figure.

They could try and pull another Missy variant but I’m not sure if they would because they’ve not exactly been amazing sellers. I’ve heard rumours of a David Bradley First Doctor but chances are we’ll just get a First Doctor rerelease, potentially the Unearthly Child version but with a white scarf.

I doubt we’ll see any aliens or villains like Cybermen, Zygons or Ice Warriors. I’m really not sure about Nardole, because it would be odd if they didn’t do a figure of him as he’d be the only New Series companion without their own figure, but at the same time he’s quite secondary to Bill and it makes sense why she’d have a figure and not him. There’s definitely a greater chance of there not being a Nardole than there being one, but I also feel like he’s more likely now to get one than he was several months ago.

I’d like a proper suited up Capaldi but I just don’t know if we’ll get one at this point. Best bet is if they do a Twice Upon a Time Set with Twelve, Repainted First Doctor and a Thirteenth Doctor head. Then release a variant of the Twelve from the set as a Red Velvet Twelve, single carded. I’d like to see a proper post-Regeneration Thirteen but I can’t help but feel our best chance before the series has aired is a headsculpt as a freebie with a Twelve Figure.

Great to finally see this, but character options have missed the boat I feel as it should’ve been on sale whilst series 10 was actually on tv. They need to get the merchandise out sooner.

I agree, however, i think the problem may lie with the UT split and letting the dust settle with seven20 to distribute in the USA if that’s happening as well as the toys r us issues

this could well have been the “cancelled” figure with production put on hold until things were sorted

seven20 sold off all stock with UT logo on it so moving forward if they are involved will want the seven20 logo on merchandise now

the Underground toys we knew doesn’t exist anymore , the UK division was purchased by funko and the USA division renamed seven20

seven20 may carry on with who stuff in the future but have yet to show anything.

I’m pleasantly surprised by this announcement. With Toys R Us in financial trouble I thought the viability of these had disappeared completely.

Maybe Jodie will give the range a boost. A Jodie twinpack (regenerated and in new costume) in September?

Incidentally, I think Capaldi’s costume really suits her.

    • Fredfez

      December 26th, 2017 - 4:36pm

It took forever to get rory though

    • DoctorSong2016

      December 26th, 2017 - 4:44pm

We got him in the end though. Technically Nardole has been the companion since 2015 so if we’re getting a Nardole Figure ever, chances are it’s pretty much now or never. Like the Rory was already planned before the end of the Original 5inch Line whereas it’s pretty much over now other than little bits and pieces now and again, so if they’re going to make one it’ll probably be in the next wave of figures or not at all.

It’s definitely the official figure. However character have re-used the sculpts for Abbie Maitland’s shoes.

    • Omega63

      December 26th, 2017 - 11:15am

It seems to me her legs are also the same sculpt, many of the creases appear to be in exactly the same place as Abby’s leg sculpt from Primeval Wave 1! Fine with me, cost saver for Character which has improved the chance of release!

    • Anonymous

      December 26th, 2017 - 2:20pm

The arms and legs are the same as Abby. The top is too, but is sanded down a bit and painted over the only thing new seems to be the head so it could be something she got from a fan!

    • booboo

      December 26th, 2017 - 2:30pm

no its real the sculptor who does the figures for Character has said so.

this may well be a “Likeness approval” prototype she saw months ago with the actual body of the figure yet to be tooled, we just wont know until we see the official images or finished figure at the toy fair possibly.

    • DoctorSong2016

      December 26th, 2017 - 2:37pm

Anonymous the arms aren’t the same as the Abby Maitland as the Abby Maitland had wrist articulation. It’s similar and the legs are definitely the same, but it’s not entirely the Abby body.

    • booboo

      December 26th, 2017 - 2:42pm

they may have made the body up of existing bits just to get the “face likeness” approved, time will tell

you wouldn’t do the actual tooling which is VERY expensive until all is done and dusted and signed off

having said that using existing bits might be the only way to viably get this figures made now.

until we get solid info we just dont know

    • James A

      December 26th, 2017 - 6:13pm

Ahh no wonder. I did think the shoes look a bit too Marty McFly-like compared to how they look on the show. The re-used trouser mould work in my opinion.

    • Omega63

      December 26th, 2017 - 8:45pm

The only parts from Abby are the legs and shoes, everything else is different. Abby’s pink shirt had sleeves which went onto her arm sculpt
