We at Robert Harrop Designs have been creating collectable hand painted figurines for over 30 years and have gained a well earned reputation of high quality and accuracy of detail. Our extensive portfolio includes Thunderbirds, Camberwick Green, Beano Dandy and 2000AD to name but a few. Cyber Controller

From ‘The Tomb of the Cybermen’ 1967

“You will become the first of a new race of Cybermen. You will return to the Earth and control it.”

The Doctor and his companions Jamie and Victoria arrive on the planet Telos where an Earth archaeological expedition, led by Professor Parry, is attempting to uncover the ancient City of Telos and the tombs of the Cybermen. The Cybermen have apparently been extinct for centuries and when the entrance to the ancient tombs is successfully located, the Doctor reluctantly aids the archaeologists in gaining entry.

Once inside, the financial sponsor of the expedition, Klieg, reveals himself and his business partner, Kaftan, to be planning to revive the Cybermen. He wants to use their strength, allied with the intelligence of his own Brotherhood of Logicians, to create an invincible force for conquest.

It transpires however that the tomb is actually a giant trap designed to lure humans suitable for conversion into further Cybermen – a fate that almost befalls Kaftan’s assistant Toberman. After fending off an attack by Cybermats – small but dangerous cybernetic creatures – the Doctor eventually defeats the revived Cybermen, led by their Controller, and reseals the tombs.

Great figure, but the certificate says Tomb Cyberman, not Cyber Controller. Sent an email querying it, waiting for Harrop to get back in touch.

Looking forward to the rest of the Tomb set.

I don’t like these figures at all, overpriced and always seem to be out of proportion not as great as they think they are.

I think there is a certain house style to the proportion, but this is in keeping with other ranges that they do. These look great in hand, but understand they are not to everyone’s taste. I’ll be getting this one though.

The Doctor figurines are the ones I only have a problem with. They look too cariacuture Only a few look out of proportion, these being the Tomb cyberman and Tenth Planet version, but as is mentioned this is Harrops own unique take. The monsters for the best part are really good.

Hand sculpted and hand painted. A lot of time and effort goes into these figures which more than justifies the price. I proudly own every piece so far released.

Certainly not overpriced. In fact the time and effort that goes in to each one i think they are way under-priced.

People are used to low cost mass produced Chinese goods these days, Quality UK produced goods from start to finish come at a price altogether in reality the price of these is comparable to similar sized products both past and present.

These are also one of the few franchises that can be seen as an investment now with values tending to increase.

Their sculpting “style” doesn’t suit everyone, especially on the Human Characters but it is their style and it works well for them and isn’t really an issue with long term collectors.

The most wanted of the four I would have thought. I will have to see the cybermat piece before I commit. I,m now more curious as to what the xmas piece might be and I would prefer to hold back till it is announced. It doesn,t have to be xmas themed. I,d like a kraal or The gods of Ragnarok. something unique.
