Picked up the Pertwee set in Keighley today…last one in stock, , although they still had a couple each of the other two sets…really pleased with all the figures, and CERTAINLY worth the money!

I love these sets, especially the classic ones (I already have enough 9th-11th era figures).

Most classic Doctors only have and need one sculpt anyway (give-or-take a hat, bow tie/cravat, celery, one-off variants and the 4th Doctor) so a lot of the Doctor variants have been repaints and aside from the odd one-episode-only costume the majority of major Doctor costume variants can be made with existing sculpts.
Additionally, we now have at least one variant of most of the popular/recurring monsters and villains. The only problems for me are that a) we don’t have an awful lot of companions and b) only the hardcore-collectors-since-day-one and the people willing to spend large sums of money on ebay have absolutely every variant of every figure.

Therefore, although I’d love the odd new set with companions, some monsters and new Doctor variants (anyone for Jamie, Fur coat 2nd and a Yeti?), these sets are a brilliant idea for collectors who ‘missed it the first time round’ and those looking for simple new variants as in the 3rd Doctor set.

None in Tottenhan, and when I asked, they sounded like they’d never heard of these…

I bought the Monsters set from my local B&M store today. I have to say the paint on these figures are mostly really good, aside from one Monster set that had a Zygon with it’s eye paint spread all the way up into it’s forehead 😀

Got the 3rd doctor set today and its amazing. I’ve not really watched that much 3rd doctor episodes but will do soon. This set is great for any whovian who is either a 3rd doctor fan or not. And also thinking about that you get 3 classic who figures for 15 pounds is not to bad.

There are two 10th Doctor and two Monsters sets in the Macclesfield store a couple of hours ago if that’s any help to anybody. There was one 3rd Doctor set but I took that, sorry.

However, when the very nice lady came back from checking the stockroom to see if there were any more in back (there weren’t), she suggested they might get more in tomorrow or Friday as they get stock coming in all the time and they don’t know what it is “until we open it up”. So it might be worth phoning them up tomorrow.

Also, if you’ve not been to Macc for a while like me, please note the B&M has moved – it’s now in the old T & J Hughes store opposite Tesco’s.

Picked up the Third and Monsters set at B&M Belle Vue, Manchester this morning. Luckily enough a few minutes walk from me. If your anywhere in Manchester, Belle Vue store is the best to pick up the DW sets. Never had a problem and always plenty of stock but they’re going to go fast. Except the 10th set, that’ll be there for months no doubt

I know I may sound really silly, but would they sell these in the ‘home store’?
I don’t know if they’d sell them there, or a ‘bargains’ store though…

Can you also buy them online? Because i live in the Netherlands. So a Quick visit to a B&M store is not possible.

    Can anybody help me??!

I don’t believe they do sell them online. I too wish they did, as these’ll cost a fair bit on ebay, unless you wait about a year or two…

    Hey Everyone

Hull Kingston Retail Park has them in but VERY limited quantities

I just want to advise you all on the paint work quality on the third doctor set. I check EVERY set on the selves and the paint defects are REALLY bad. On the master its the eyes. Jo Grant is the worst. All set i saw had brown paint smeared on her face and the yellow boots painted yellow halfway up one leg and smudged. Third Doc just seems to have a tiny bit of blue on hands in some sets.

The monster sets were all perfect.

I suppose the monster are all a basecolor (zygon; orange, cyberman; silver, icewarrior; green) with only some occasional variation in shades, therefore harder to smuge (noticeably at least)

i want to get all 3 sets but i think i might only be able to get one or two if they are in my local store now, so which one will not sell out as quick as the others so i can get that one at a later date?

And are they at most stores by now because the sets are not on b&ms website?

i would go for the 3rd Doctor set or Monsters
