October 27th, 2019 - 9:59pmIf each animation team did one a year in the order that they’re going in, then the majority of Troughton could be done by 2022.
2020: The Faceless Ones, Fury from the Deep
2021: The Evil of the Daleks, The Wheel in Space
2022: The Abominable Snowmen, The Space Pirates
What they decide to do about the others (Highlanders, Underwater Menace, Web3) is up to them entirely but it’s always cool to spot a possible pattern

October 27th, 2019 - 9:04pmOver the moon its a completely missing story. Though Oak and Quills open mouth appearances will never be as frightening or have the same unnerving effect as the B/W existing segment.

October 27th, 2019 - 8:26pmWe’re getting 12 animated episodes in 2020. Suddenly Masterplan doesn’t seem so distant…

October 27th, 2019 - 9:23pmThe number of episodes isn’t the problem with Master Plan. Certainly doesn’t help but there are other massive issues there beyond length.

October 27th, 2019 - 10:19pmMasterplan has many more sets and characters compared to faceless and fury. It’s not a case of oh, they are doing 12 episodes next year, that means they can do master plan as well. Masterplan will cost considerably more to do.

October 27th, 2019 - 10:35pmWith 2 teams at play I think there is far more of a chance of masterplan happening than there ever was previously. They can split the work that 1 team does eps 1-6 and the other team can work 7-12. They can split the assets that each team does half the characters sets and costumes and they can share reusable assets whenever necessary. It would need to be 2 releases to cover costs though. It’s probably years off from happening. They seem to be fixed on filing in the Troughton gaps at present

October 27th, 2019 - 6:15pmDon’t know what I’m more happy about. Fury being animated or that we are getting 12 animated episodes next year or that season 12 is being re released?!!

October 27th, 2019 - 5:34pmI wonder if they will use the same character designs as they are now two separate groups. The pictures released show that the second doctor looks rather different, but it might just be an odd angle/ unfinished animation. (I’m referring to pictures from twitter of the character designs that were shown at the con)

October 27th, 2019 - 7:18pmI heard they will be trading reusable assets with each other
