This is an official UK press release from Character/Toys r Us/Evolution PR

Exclusive toy range launches and includes a never before seen Eighth Doctor Figure!

Toys “R” Us has linked up with Character Options to bring to Doctor Who fans young and old a very special collector’s series of figures that will be available only in Toys “R” Us Stores in the UK.

The new collection of 11 Figures has launched and will be displayed in brand new resealable packaging that allows the figures to be enjoyed out of pack while also storable in pristine condition.

amy-pond-box7502

The new 5inch figure series has been created in response to the great demand from Doctor Who fans who are eager to see the return of the highly details larger format. It will include:

  • Clara Oswald (played By Jenna Coleman) – the most recent time travelling companion of The Doctor
  • Rose Tyler (played By Billie Piper) with K9
  • Amy Pond (played by Karen Gillan) in her famed police outfit
  • Three separate Eleventh Doctor figures (played by Matt Smith): One in purple Jacket , another donning a cowboy hat as in Doctor Who – A Christmas Carol, and finally a classically posed Eleventh Doctor with a his ubiquitous Sonic device
  • Four versions of the current and Twelfth Doctor (played by Peter Capaldi) are also part of the line-up. Known for being a rather dapper Time Lord, there is a choice of figure in White, Black, Purple or Polka Dot shirt.
  • And last but definitely not least a brand new Eighth Doctor figure (played by Paul McGann) and as seen in the episode Night of The Doctor. The Eighth Doctor has never before been seen in the 5 inch figure format and so this piece it bound to whip up a storm with fans.

What’s more, to add variety to this stunning Collector’s series, four 3.75 inch Wave 4 figures will also be available.

toys-r-us-shop

Al Dewar, Product Development Director, Character Options commented: “This collector’s series is really special.

The fans have been requesting a return to the 5.5 inch format for a long time and in producing this collection I feel we have brought to them exactly what they have been demanding. The most exciting part for me however, is the creation of the Eighth Doctor figure, which is often seen as the missing piece for the true Doctor Who collector.”

12th-doctor-purple7501

Mike Coogan, Marketing & eCommerce Director, Toy “R” Us further commented: “Toys “R” Us has a particular affinity with the Doctor Who fan and each year we like to bring to them something that they could not get anywhere else. This new series is exceptional and I believe one of the most comprehensive collector’s series to date – It will be an instant hit with all collectors.”

only stores i can see with stuff are Brent cross, Milton Keynes and Northampton

it depends on what time stores get their delivery and how quick they unpack it and add it to the system.

most stores open late so i would later and ask them to check the stock room as sometimes item arent put out straight away

Ok, bit weird, but followed the link and now where it says “sold in stores” there’s a green circle with an tick in it -does that mean some stores have them in stock now then? By the looks of it the only way to tell is to phone them (seeing as click a collect isn’t available yet)!

I’m really happy that they’re doing this, and I would love to see more of it. I’ve officially given up collecting 3.75 inch figures (I do enjoy them, but I can’t afford to collect two scales at once), I’d really love to see them expand this line. In the future, I would love to see:
    *The Twelfth Doctor (Series 9)
    *Ice Warrior
    *Zygon
    *Cyberman (Series 7/8)
    *Bronze Dalek (re-release)
    *Dalek Sec (re-release)
    *Dalek Drone (metallic)
    *Davros (re-release)
    *The Fisher King
    *The Half-Faced Man
    *The Foretold
*The Great Intelligence (perhaps with a swappable Whisperman head?)

      1. I’m talking about a re-release, for those of us who want to army build Daleks, but can’t find them for reasonable prices.
      2. Not all of them are Series 9 figures. Besides, this is a two-year wishlist.
      3. Good point…

Normally I’d criticise re releases. But as the 5″ range has all but been absent for a while and new fans would of not been able to get these figures it’s good for them. I do hope in future we would see a 5″ Ainley Master in his proper outfit.

I think they should’ve made waves of collectors series. In this first one, they should’ve got rid of all of these recent rereleases and Clara and replaced them with:
      -12th Doctor in black jumper
-12th Doctor in black jumper and hoodie
-12th Doctor in white t-shirt, Hoodie, plaid trousers
      -New Cyberman
      -New Zygon

    • Aidan Gula

      October 28th, 2015 - 9:16am

And the second wave could be:
      -Kate Stewart
      -Osgood
      -Danny Pink
      -Clara (in The Caretaker outfit)
      -Paternoster Gang Boxset
-The Magician’s Apprentice Boxset (Davros, Supreme Dalek, 2× classic Daleks, bronze Dalek with Clara inside)
      -Ashildr/Me Double Pack

      October 28th, 2015 - 2:07pm

I’d replace Ashildr/Me Double pack with 2013 Ice Warrior. Mainly because I’d rather have a 5 inch figure of the new ice warrior design and plus I can’t stand Ashildr/Maisie Williams.

In my opinion the next 11 should be
      Davros
      Supreme dalek
      Osgood
      Kate
      Zygon x 2
      Cyberman + cyberdanny
      Clara TMA
      The Doctor TMA
      The nightmare
      Fisher King
      TARDIS interior

This is what the email said:
“We can advise that these items will be available online from the 30/10/15.” So I imagine they will come into stock online, the be released in stores a week later.

I think they were trying to say that it is the first time you can buy only a 5.5″ Eighth Doctor, as opposed to his 11 Doctors and Dalek twin pack releases.

That’s fine – By the way is there anyway to delete an account you have made on here? or does one not make an account and just make a post? And how come it asks for your email when you comment?

    • booboo

      October 27th, 2015 - 5:50pm

there are no accounts and the email box is there if you use Gravatar and want your own image or enter a competition

      October 27th, 2015 - 6:09pm

So basically anyone can use anyone username if they wanted to? I always thought it was like an account and I wondered what the email box was before? if you put a comment and add the email address do you keep the email addresses? I’m wondering because I did that once I think and I don’t have that email anymore, so much so I can’t remember the address.

    • booboo

      October 27th, 2015 - 6:14pm

the email address does nothing as far as the site is concerned, you can enter anything or nothing

a lot of people use gravater (nothing to do with the site) and you need to enter the correct email if you want the image you choose showing on your posts

there are no fixed names either but regular posters tend to use an unique one they are happy with to keep them as an individual

But once the ones from FPI have run out it will be exclusive to toysrus

    • Anonymous

Because otherwise if toys r us sold them as well as other companies then the bigger company’s would sell better as toys r us isn’t a big website

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 27th, 2015 - 11:15pm

I think that the correct term for the twelfths is ‘shared exclusive’ meaning that they are only available from a few places.

  • Joshua

    October 27th, 2015 - 4:23pm

Surely Wave 4 of 3.75″ won’t be EXCLUSIVE to Toys ‘Я’ Us, right? I saw them in the ARGOS catalogue. Seeing as how Toys ‘Я’ Us usually overprices things, I’m not going to be happy if they are exclusive to that shop.

Nope! 3.75″ figures are meant for all commercial retailers. 5.5″ are now store-exclusives.

      £15 11th Doctor
      £15 Amy Pond
      £15 K9 and Rose Tyler
£15 Stetson 11th Doctor (Maybe it is a pretty bad re-release – not sure if I even have this figure)
£25 11th doctor and sonic Screwdriver
      £35 5 3.75″ figures

      total = £120

use the £30 on 12th or 8th doctor and maybe a clara

    • cyberdoctor42

      October 27th, 2015 - 11:19pm

I wouldn’t waste money on the stetson doctor because it was a rather lazy variant to begin with or the 3.75 figures, saving £50 which happens to be enough to spend on the Lego set.

    • DoctorSong2016

      October 27th, 2015 - 11:33pm

How is it a lazy variant? I agree that there’s not much point in getting it as you can buy it much cheaper. But it isn’t lazy, if we for example already had a Last Christmas 12th Doctor figure and CO took this figure later and added sunglasses to the existing figure and released it, would you call that a “lazy” variant? It’s a perfectly legitimate variant and the problem was so many variants of 11 were made and some were pointless but this was a perfectly fine one

    • The Living Shadow

      October 29th, 2015 - 8:48am

Look on eBay for Stetson 11th Doctor, you might find cheaper prices. Same goes for the 11th Doctor and Sonic screwdriver. You could probably find them cheaper if you look for them separately on eBay.
