Forbidden Planet have Taken delivery of a stunning collection of exclusive classic figures and sets including The 1st Doctor with Black Dalek in colour and Black & White, the 2nd Doctor with Telos Cyber Tombs in Colour and Black and White and the 6th Doctor In Real Time Blue Coat.

2nd Doctor with Cyberman

This is the first appearance of the second Doctor, Patrick Troughton as part of Character Options classic figure series. Troughton was the first actor to experience the Doctor’s regeneration in the Cybermen storyline ‘The Tenth Planet’ first broadcast on 29th October 1966. At the time the show was shown in black and white and the color used on these figures are authenticated by the many existing ‘behind the scene’ shots. The Cyberman is the version which appears, discovered in the cyber-tombs of the planet Telos, in the episode ‘The Tomb of the Cybermen’ (Sept 1967).

The very limited ‘variant edition’ of the figures stick to a black and white color scheme.

1st Doctor with Black Dalek

This is the first appearance of the first Doctor, William Hartnell as part of Character Options classic figure series. It was Hartnell who brought the Doctor to our screens in that very first broadcast on 23rd November 1963. At the time the show was shown in black and white and the color used on these figures are authenticated by the many existing ‘behind the scene’ shots. The Dalek is from the ‘Dalek Invasion of Earth’ (Dec 1964) storyline and varies most conspicuously from later versions by the double neck banding and the energy dish collecting aerial on the rear. The Black Dalek was designated by rank as the ‘Supreme Controller’.

The very limited ‘variant edition’ of the figures stick to a black and white color scheme.

6th Doctor In Real Time Blue Coat

This alternative costume was most visibly used in the BBC webcast ‘Real Time’ (having previously appeared on a few book and audio book covers). It varies vastly from the gaudy coat of many colors normally worn by Colin Baker’s sixth Doctor whilst retaining some design elements including the dandy’s tie and question mark shirt collar. For many fans this has become almost the preferred costume with it’s more muted, less frivolous, colourways.

I received the 1st Doctor in colour and the 2nd Doctor in colour on Wednesday and I absolutely love them, the mould of the faces are uncanny compared to the real actors.

I think I agree with Slitheen Scout too just like Sil I wonder if they could actually bang their heads together and start realizing classic companions.

I wonder if Character will actually make any companions if not then I want more Sarah Jane Adventures figures instead but hopefully we get Sarah Jane, Barbara, Mel, Liz, Susan, Victoria and more.

Thanks Sil for that interesting comment and I do agree with you there because I don’t think we getting our moneys worth and if we keep on asking for companions then we might finally get some even if it’s just Sarah Jane and one or two others it’s still good.

I think a lot of what you mention is good but i fear there will be no companions from CO. we seem to be having enough trouble getting the Doctors and some new monsters let alone companions. Really hope we get to see a special weapons Dalek one day and another cyberman wave
