Second Look at Robert Harrop Sontaran Figurine
Second Look at Robert Harrop Figurines Sontaran
Robert Harrop Figurines have released the first prototype images of their 1:12th scale ‘Sontaran’ being sculpted by Mike Rogers.
This piece is Commander Linx from the episode ‘The Time Warrior’ from the early 70’s.
Following on from this they will be starting work on an Ice Warrior along with the Time Lords, Daleks and Cybermen…
Prices, production numbers and any collectors club information have yet to be established but they hope to have items up for order during the last quarter of this year.
You can follow developments and see more images on their forum or facebook page.

May 27th, 2014 - 1:01pmcant everybody see that the legs are wayyyyyy to short ! even for a sontaran π
Trenzalore
May 27th, 2014 - 1:20pmMaybe it’s the way he’s standing, he’s kind of in a squatting position with the knees sticking out a little. That could be why. Otherwise it looks fine to me.

May 23rd, 2014 - 5:28pmRobert Harrop are excellent. Visited their Showroom near Ironbridge a few years back. Quality merchandise is a guarantee. I have their Joe 90 and Captain Scarlet.

KEVIN BUNKER
May 23rd, 2014 - 12:26pmI like it, still want to see the finished painted version but I don’t see any reason why it won’t be joining my collection.

May 23rd, 2014 - 12:30pmyes this is the wax sculpt the moulds are made from but there other work looks excellent

May 20th, 2014 - 6:35pmNice figure but the boots are wrong… If it’s a Linx figure… It’s not accurate

May 18th, 2014 - 5:56pmEasily my favorite Sontaran and one of my favorite classic stories, might get this
the astronaut of death
May 18th, 2014 - 2:47pmAre they just making a sontarnan
booboo
May 18th, 2014 - 2:52pmno they have loads of stuff planned
the astronaut of death
May 18th, 2014 - 2:57pmHow much do you think one of these will cost
VespiformsSting
May 18th, 2014 - 3:16pmI buy a fair bit of Harrops stuff and my guess would be around 70 quid give or take 20 quid either way…..the Gerry Anderson figurines (which are just a bit smaller) are usually priced at about 45…their Anderson space craft and vehicles between 70 and 100…but the way I see it is that sontaran is going to easily make its money back especially if they do a limited run….
Jaffa Cakes
May 15th, 2014 - 5:17pmTo say these are meant to be around the same scale as the Character Options figures, they’re not amazing…
VespiformsSting
May 16th, 2014 - 7:15pmDont try and change his mind BooBoo if everyone goes buying ’em and Harrops limit the number we might not get one π !
VespiformsSting
May 16th, 2014 - 7:19pmSeriously -the figures are going to be taller than Character options (Lynx is compared alongside one of the Harrops anderson figures on their site) and they’ll be on a base so no more ‘one figure falls over with the domino effect coming into play’….I don’t know how anyone can say that sontaran isnt detailed…
You dont work for CO do you jaffa ??
Exterminator
May 15th, 2014 - 12:05pmSo these figures don’t have any articulation in the limbs, they’re more like statuettes then action figures.
booboo
May 15th, 2014 - 12:06pmno they are figurines
VespiformsSting
May 15th, 2014 - 1:05pmStatuettes is a very good description I think….

May 14th, 2014 - 10:54pmThat is one of the worst lines ever uttered by a Cyberman, yuk.

May 15th, 2014 - 1:23pmMillion times better than “Delete” but those aren’t real Cybermen.
The Werewolf
May 15th, 2014 - 3:02pmThe ones that say “excellent” aren’t really Cybermen either, they are imposters. Real Cybermen may not say “delete”, but they don’t even know what “excellent” means.
Sontarans however are awesome.

May 15th, 2014 - 4:09pmYey another The Simpsons fan xD “WOO-HOO !”

May 14th, 2014 - 6:55pmDoes anyone know how much membership is to the Robert Harrop club, Bronze, silver, gold. Didn’t know if it was worth joining as you get 10% off any orders, and I plan to buy a fair few of them so the discount might add up.

May 14th, 2014 - 4:47pmIm beginning to have a feeling these might sell very quickly….. I dont think I should have promoted them so much π
Trenzalore
May 14th, 2014 - 4:40pmHow detailed are they usually? (like 0 being that prototype to 10 being the little hairs on his chin π )
It looks like a promising figure, I’m just worried about the price. What’s the usual price for these Robert Harrop figures?
booboo
May 14th, 2014 - 4:44pmdepends on the type and quantity, these are smaller than 1st mentioned, about 6″
some sell for Β£50 others (where there are only 200) sell for Β£70 – if they make a lot could be less, just dont know
these are a collectors item though
as there other ranges are very specific and many are cartoon characters its a job to tell how these will end up looking, we will need to see one really
Trenzalore
May 14th, 2014 - 4:49pmThanks for explaining π I’m probably going to have to get at least one (if I can) but it would be one of the less limited ones.
VespiformsSting
May 14th, 2014 - 4:18pmI think that figure also reaffirms linx as the best sontaran too …..
VespiformsSting
May 14th, 2014 - 4:11pmThe are going to be highly collectable items which onnly increase in value not only among who fans but among Harrop collectors…Look at the prices other items from Harrops ranges on ebay…the Thunderbird 5 model sells for in excess of 500 quid now…figures very quickly increase in price…. youre not buying a ten a penny character options figure here…

May 14th, 2014 - 4:10pmGreat! Hoping for a Console and Bessie in future π
the astronaut of death
May 14th, 2014 - 4:09pmVery detailed!

May 14th, 2014 - 4:01pmI saw this yesterday of Facebook, an Ice Warrior is next & also a 70s Cyberman & Dalek, can’t wait to get them…, 1:12″ scale so about 6″ I’d imagine. π
The War Doctor
May 14th, 2014 - 3:52pmFull statues great, was worried they might be just busts or cut short. Count me in. this could end up as one of the best Doctor Who ranges out there.
Colin the 3rd
May 14th, 2014 - 3:50pmHope a console is on the cards, preferably one that will fit in with 5″. These are made in house i think so hopefully its within reach.
Also some craft, would love a Jagaroth ship diorama, Bessie definitely
Peter
May 14th, 2014 - 3:47pmHope they consider a Wirrn and may be ice lord, would be nice to see some items we haven’t had in other ranges
Moodbeam
May 14th, 2014 - 6:39pmOne of the first things they said after obtaining the license is that they’ll be doing figures not often touched by other companies. I therefore think there’s a high chance that your wish may come true. π
DOCTOR WHO ONE
May 14th, 2014 - 3:44pmFantastic sculpt, the finished product should be no doubt brilliant π

May 14th, 2014 - 3:09pmYet another range of figures. What is the USP?
booboo
May 14th, 2014 - 3:25pmvaries quite a lot depending on release quantities, guess would be the Β£39 – Β£49 mark, i doubt there will be made in huge quantities
VespiformsSting
May 14th, 2014 - 4:13pmPersonally Im not expecting much change from 70 quid and would expect to pay anything up to 100 quid a time for harrops stuff…. replicas of ships and vehicles from who would be well worth it though. Well worth it !!
Dalek1234
May 14th, 2014 - 2:25pmI love it!
The Holographic Doctor
May 14th, 2014 - 2:03pmAwesome ! Very tempted π
