30 mile round trip to Forbidden Planet and they don’t have it. Two TGJones don’t have it either which is slightly more excusable as their identical predecessor was always two weeks late for many years.

A fabulously large supermarket may have them, but 5 in my area that used to, do not any longer. It’s just as well it’s a bookazine and not a mag, to be around for a while and hopefully sell out.

Not only a great year for Doctor Who but also for culture / pop music / movies in general. Everything was of high quality in 1984 it seemed.

I don’t know about celebrity, ati, but sadly the actor who was going to play Mr Range in Frontios was murdered…..

Frontios was recorded in 1983 . Peter Arne was murdered in his flat few weeks before the recording. I believe his murder was never solved .

The main suspect in his murder (Giuseppe Perusi) was found dead in the Thames 4 days later and the inquiry it was ruled an unlawful killing for Peter Arne and a suicide for Giuseppe Perusi

One of my favourite Dr Who eras….particularly Frontios and Resurrection…..
And it was so cool Colin Baker was in the final story….rather than having to wait nearly a year for the New Doctor….
    I was doing my O levels…..and reading 1984….!

1984- Season 21 – Peter Davisons’ Best Season IMHO.
Loved The Malus in The Awakening.
Hugely excited at Resurrection after a 5 year wait for The Daleks to return .
Resurrection looked great on screen and a fast moving story.
I was doing my O levels too. Doctor Who was popular at school.
Don’t know why they were called O ( Ordinary ) levels as GCSE ( 1988 replacement ) just sounds better !

The return of Davros (who seemed to pop into Dr Who every 5 years or so) was most exciting…..!!!

I don’t feel like they are necessarily aimed at the same market unless your a fan that buys anything with who stamped on it. I couldn’t of given less of an interest in the 2025 year book if I tried, and gave up on the main magazine years ago but this chronicles range has been brilliant and a great companion to the various collection box sets. Some of the other specials interest me but most dpnt I just get the ones that do.
