Figurine Collection Magazine Mega #7 Weeping Angel

Don’t blink. Don’t even blink. Blink and you’re dead! This MEGA-sized Weeping Angel comes straight from the episode “Blink” (2007) and is even more terrifying than ever!

The Weeping Angels are “quantum locked” aliens, who freeze into an indestructible, stone-like form whenever someone is watching them – almost like statues… Rather than killing their victims, the Weeping Angels drain their potential energy – sending them back to the past so that they can die of old age in the present. Also called the Lonely Assassins, the Weeping Angels debuted in the 2007 Doctor Who episode “Blink”, and have returned to plague the Doctor and his companions many times since.

This figurine is a limited edition and hand-crafted from metallic resin. This giant-size statuette comes with a choice of two faces, to represent a Weeping Angel frozen mid-pounce!

Product Features:

  • Figurine measures: TBC
  • Material: Metallic Resin
  • Hand-painted for incredible detail to show all the little details of the statue
  • Great gift for Doctor Who fans

Complete with a detailed 20-page magazine, read every adventure detailing the appearance and impact of the character.

The Mega Weeping Angel arrived today, the sculpt and paint app is excellent and the interchangeable heads is a great idea that’s been well implemented,

It’s a great figure, I’m displaying my angel with the snarly face 🙂

Neil, Is the Absorbaloff off limits due to a rights issue? He would be a cool figurine and there isn’t a lot of merchandise of him.

Neil, are we likely to get anymore figurines from the 9th Dr era?

I’d guess maybe a series 1 Rose as another companion set, maybe a Bride Auton, Auton Mickey (headless, with padle-hands) Moxx of Balhoon, Gelth zombie, The Editor, Margaret with exposed Slitheen arm would be cool, Maybe Trin-E and Zu-Zana, Lynda with a Y, maybe if we need another companion… oh and Adam, how could I forget Adam, hes like the best character ever!

      Special Issues;
      – Gweneth w/ orange Gelth Phantom
      – Jagrafess (No idea how it could be done, but I’m sure theres a way)
      – Maybe a Reaper, if they can make it stand, (maybe posed down as if consuming someone)

Neil has said a couple of times that they’ve looked into doing the Moxx of Balhoon but that his built-in circular platform would be too wide for the spaces on the plinths unless they did him at a smaller scale than the 1:21 the rest come in. He also mentioned in the last week or two he’s an awkward shape for packaging. Pity, as he is a cool creation. Maybe they could do him as a special and then keeping to a fixed scale becomes less of an issue?

One of the people you want to have a word with is me. I’d just started putting plans together for Peri companion set but you’re going to have to bear us a little while longer, because something entirely different has come up…

What’s the size of the angel?

Don’t think the size is in the description yet.
But Neil Corry mentioned it was similar size to the Big Chief Studios one, which is 12inch scale.

The ordering page (now up at Eaglemoss’s UK store) says 25cm tall

    • Alvin

      August 14th, 2020 - 2:35pm

I was hoping it would be a similar size to the Mega Cyberman, no doubt they reduced the height due to the wings

      August 14th, 2020 - 6:50pm

No doubt they reduced the height to make it the SAME scale as the Cyberman. The Angels were the same height as normal women, not Cybermen.

The Mega Cyberman is 35cm tall, this makes the Angel 10cm shorter, I guess its a dwarf angel

      August 15th, 2020 - 4:13pm

Alvin, I think with what you’ve just said, the Angel will be to scale and NOT the same size as the Cyberman.

It’d be cool if it had a pair of interchangeable weeping arms too, like the Big Chief one

A beautiful figure and this scale really shows up fantastic detail in the sculpt. Interchangeable heads is a lovely touch too!

Unfortunately lack of space and the cost of these makes the ‘megas’ one range too far for me – although I indulged in a mega K9 – which is a great figure!

P.S. As an aside are we any closer at all to a Krarg figurine in the main collection? I’d love to see one in all its angular glory!

I’m going to get this and put it in my cupboard with my other Eaglemoss figures then every time my wife leaves the room I’m going to move it a bit closer to her chair. On the off chance Mr Neil Corry sees this, have you considered doing something with Blake’s 7? Small run of figures and a couple of ships, might be a certain cross over appeal to your current collectors of classic series figures.

Would love Blake’s 7 but what are the chances of it being done. With Doctor Who you have fans who have been watching form classic Who ad some who started in the new series. With Blake’s 7, the likelihood is you would loose a great amount of customers compared to Doctor Who, which has a large following younger fans watching Doctor Who now, adding to the demand.

There is actually still Blake’s 7 figurines being made to this day with new ones being added every now an again.

Slightly off topic, but what are the chances of getting one of the “guard” movie daleks from “The Chase”, (the ones seen inside the ship without their bases etc.). The Mechanus Attack Dalek is one of my favourites, so I’d love to see that variation – maybe as a rare figurine?

I’d like to see EM tackle some of the less well known characters with their MEGA series, rather than characters you can easily obtain from Character Options. I’d love to see Omega from ARC of Infinity tackled in this larger scale – now that would be something special. The Terileptil Android from The Visitation would really look terrific in this size too.

We’ve done so far SEVEN large models.

    • Neil

      July 28th, 2020 - 5:54pm

Would it be a surprise to learn that Omega – in either configuration (DYSWIDT?) – is less likely to appeal than the Weeping Angels?

    • booboo

      July 28th, 2020 - 6:38pm

not at all, at this scale / price point 350 units maximum and that’s pushing it

It’s a good figurine, but if a fan was after a figure / model of a Weeping Angel, then Character Options produced a pretty good fjgure a while ago and if you prefer, you can probably obtain a pre-owned one, second-hand, very cheap on Ebay. If EM concentrated on delivering Dr Who characters in this scale which are not so readily available in another range (such as Character Options) then they might become more appealing to fans and collectors. I’m sure there are lots of possibilities to consider here.

Realistically Harrops have that market tied down, EM are always going to go for the higher volume (and to an extent guaranteed sellers) for their megas

Would love if they were 1/6 scale. I personally don’t collect eaglemoss doctor who but i would definetly buy those mega if they were just a bit bigger but i guess that eaglemoss can’t make 1/6 figure and that would also raise the cost.
