Got this in the post yesterday, it’s a great sculpt. Sadly they forgot to include issue 183 so I never got Eldrad, I’ve emailed them about that.

Yeah not the best considering chibnall is a fan doesn’t he remember Trial of a Time Lord parts 1-4 the mysterious planet where the time lords moved earth and renamed it Ravalox

The episode says it’s one possible timeline nothing is set in stone the earth get rewriten loads the time war and stuff mean that mysterious planet might not have happened or orphan 55 might not have either if time changes again

Sure he remembers. Like he remembered The Pirate Planet when he wrote about miniaturised planets in Ranskoor Av Kolos. It’s an homage when it’s good, but plagiarism when it’s bad!

In one timeline or possible version of events. I’m not sure a show runner should worry about contradicting or clashing with previous continuity or you’d start to close down DW’s otherwise vast storytelling opportunities. Steven Moffat said something to the effect that he would never hesitate for a second to throw past lore to the wind if he felt he had a really good story idea in the here and now, and i can’t help but think that instinct is right really. Admittedly, Orphan 55 struggles with that ‘really good story idea’ bit…

If orphan 55 was brilliant then people would still have a problem. Series 11 had the most views the show has ever had for its opening episode and this was Chibnalls chance to reboot the show with amazing actors and plots. That failed momentously as the acting was so shoddy and plots so paper thing that people got turned off immediately. So from then on, whatever he tries to do to improve will always be met with criticism and ridicule, simply because he’s Chibnall

I don’t mind this story, not the best one but 10,11 and 12 had some stinkers too.
This design is pretty cool and scary.

Doctor’s 10, 11 and 12’s era is what I meant, every series has some not so great episodes but there is usually something good in them that you remember like this guy.

Yes! Now I can finally recreate the immaculate end to the episode like I’ve always dreamed

That’s a really good sculpt, the detail on this figurine is excellent, especially the teeth! Not a memorable story but a good monster design that realised well on camera.

Here’s what I’m hoping to see from EM in the future

    1. Terileptil Android from The Visitation. (without grim reaper disguise)
    2. The Ergon from Arc of Infinity.
    3. Servo Robot from The Wheel in Space.
    4. First Doctor popping out from a Dalek (The Space Museum) – surely one of the top in Dalek Variants!
    5. Damaged Cyberman from The Five Doctors (spear through arm, chestplate on fire)
    6. Cyberwarrior from Ascension of the Cybermen.
    7. Caillech from The Stones of Blood.
    8. More Fourth Doctor costume variants (Zygons, Ribos Operation, Talons)
    9. A Chameleon from The Faceless Ones.

I enjoyed the episode but did think the writing was clumsy in places. Brilliant creature though
