Figurine Collection Magazine Companion Set #12

This companion box-set in our fantastic Doctor Who Figurines Collection unites the Third Doctor with the members of the UNIT – Jo Grant, Brigadier and Benton.

In his third incarnation, the Doctor (played by Jon Pertwee) was exiled to 20th-century Earth by his fellow Time Lords. Dashing and distinguished, this Doctor was a master of Venusian aikido with a fondness for fast cars, and joined the Unified Intelligence Taskforce – or UNIT – as a scientific advisor, to better defend Earth from an alien invasion.

The Third Doctor was joined by his outspoken and enthusiastic lab assistant Jo Grant, as well as the aggressive Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart – or simply “The Brigadier”, and the reliable, unshakeable Sergeant Benton.
The Doctor and the Brigadier often clashed over the latter’s preference for military force over peaceful solutions, but eventually developed genuine and mutual respect.

I was a bit worried about this set as some human likenesses can be a bit off in this scale. But it arrived today and it is really superb, love it.

Just realised I never got round to doing an ideas list for variant Doctor’s and companion sets for War Doctor onwards so here goes. (I also forgot to add the Five Doctors companion set to my last list so will start with that.)

Richard Hurndall 1st Dr, 2nd Dr, 3rd Dr, 4th Dr, and 5th Dr. *(From “Five Doctors.)
Young War Doctor. *(From “Night of the Doctor/Big Finish War Doctor Begins.”)
War Doctor either with sonic screwdriver, Time Lord soldier blaster rifle, or Moment in bag slung over back, The Moment Interface, and the Moment box. *(Three figurine set from “The Day of the Doctor.”)
Cardinal Ollistra, War Master, and Dalek Time Strategist. *(From “Big Finish War Doctor stories.”)
9th Doctor in red jumper with hands in coat pockets, Rose, Mickey Smith, and Jackie Tyler. *(From “Rose/The End of the World/Series 1.)
TLV 9th Doctor and Monstrous Beauty/TLV Promo Rose. *(From Time Lord Victorious. It would be great to see a Kotturuh and Great Vampire as well.)
9th Dr in green jumper holding TARDIS key. *(From “Father’s Day.” It would be fantastic to see this figurine as a variant for the Ninth Doctor in the main collection, something a little bit different.)
10th Dr, Rose, Jackie, and Mickey. *(various series 2 outfits.)
10th Dr in Blue Suit with glasses, Martha Jones, and Captain Jack. *(various series 3 outfits.)
10th Dr, Donna, and Wilf. *(From series 4.)
Children of Time box set 1. Meta-Crisis Dr, Doctor-Donna, Sarah Jane.
Children of time box set 2. Captain Jack, Mickey, and Jackie. *(From “Stolen Earth/Journey’s End.”)
11th Dr in blue bowtie outfit, Amy, and Rory. *(From series 5.)
11th Dr in Fez with mop and vortex manipulator, the Last Centurion, Young Amelia Pond, and River Song. *(From “Pandorica Opens/Big Bang.”)
11th Dr in tweed outfit, Amy, and Rory. *(From series 6.)
11th Dr in green coat, Amy, Rory, and River Song. *(From “Let’s Kill Hitler.”)
11th Dr in purple tweed coat and Clara. *(From series 7b.)
12th Dr, Clara, Danny Pink, and Courtney. *(From series 8.)
12th Dr with guitar. *(From series 9.)
12th Dr in red velvet coat with sonic sunglasses and Clara. *(From “Face the Raven.”)
12th Dr, Nardole, and River Song. *(From end of series 9/all of series 10.)

There are literally so many more ideas for each Doctor. I’ve tried to include as many as possible but there are still ideas like Doctors in tuxedos/smart wear, 11th Doctor in plaid “Crimson Horror” outfit or Victorian style outfit from “Snowmen/Time of the Doctor.” I’ve tried to keep it as broad as possible and include as many variant outfit ideas that I could think of without going OTT. I hope you enjoyed my ideas and, although variants aren’t for everyone, I would love to see as much as they could possibly make.

Don’t expect the payment schedule t he up to date, the same happened around the time of each of the other proposed final issues after the extension it always took a while for the payment schedule to catch up the update.

it seems to be working just tried it but if you try to use it on offers it will override the offer so you will end up paying more!

It will also only work on Doctor Who figures?

Still not working for me – I only have this set in my basket. I have even tried removing it and adding it back in. I will leave it 24hrs and if it still doesn’t work I will contact their customer support

I found when I logged out of my account and shopped as a guest, the WHOS12 code worked, but not when I logged into my account. All very weird,

It would be nice to have a figurine of a Chancellery Guard. The uniform is great. Any chance of Maxil?

There was a note in with issue 185 saying they are going up to £9.99 standard & £10.99 premium from issue 186 there is a rumour that series 13 will be the final season if this is true then Eaglemoss might as well extend the main range for a final time

      November 20th, 2020 - 11:25am

Well, it’s already been extended to 220 issues, and I am glad that despite the price rise, subscribers are still paying £1 less than the shop as it’s one of the things that makes up for the fact subscribers get everything last.

      November 20th, 2020 - 12:33pm

Series 13 won’t be the final series although I do think the show needs a proper break from TV.
      Not a 16 year one mind…

Maybe once Chibs Era is over give it 5 years so it can come back with a bang. Get 60th year out of the way first though.

I’d have Doctor regenerating at end but we don’t see who is next til they are cast further down the line.

As for the figurines the Eaglemoss License for Who is nearing the end and I think Neil stated that is why they are trying to do as much as they can across the whole Who range.
