At the local hospital, Dr Grace Holloway fights – and fails – to save his life.
Later, in the morgue, the Doctor wakes up a new man. But he is not the only one – the Master has also found himself a new body. As the clock counts down to the start of the new millennium, can the Doctor stop his oldest enemy destroying all life on Earth?

The Unlicensed Physician
June 8th, 2026 - 7:21amApparently it isn’t just the X-ray shot missing – Gallifrey Base and Blu-ray Forum users also say that the shot of Bruce casually flicking away the fingernail he’s pulled off isn’t there anymore. (I liked that bit.)
I thought it sounded risky to use an earlier master to match the picture to (Pieces of 8th podcast last month) because that’s how mistakes were made in the early days of the DVD range. Still, it’s an extra reason to do a Wilderness Years set after someone has the fun job of fixing, resyncing and remaking all those masters.
Mr Martin Snowden
June 8th, 2026 - 11:56amI watched bothe versions and the X-Ray Scene is included as well as the Master Flicking his nail away after it was pulled off (and I watch both versions back to back
The Unlicensed Physician
June 8th, 2026 - 6:29pmThey’re there, but different to the original.

June 7th, 2026 - 1:36pmHas anyone watched the making off documentary on disc 3 yet? On mine, the picture seems to have like a heartbeat effect all the way through where the image slightly stutters every second or so, it’s particularly noticeable with the panning photos at the start, but is there all the way through. I wondered if it was my blu-ray player, but it doesn’t seem to be an issue on the rest of the disc, just that documentary.
Peter
June 11th, 2026 - 9:20amMust be your player – I watched the making of last night (forgot how good and comprehensive it is) and no issues.
Moonbeam
June 7th, 2026 - 9:01amAnyone had any issue with disc 1 not playing? I’ve tried it on my PS3 and it just sits there making noises then just stops. It does the same on my Sony 4k player, disc 2 plays fine though. I suppose both players are a bit old, could that be the problem?
SV7
June 7th, 2026 - 11:03amI haven’t watched mine yet, but I’ve got the 4K steelbook. However, someone else on here did report that the 4K disc was freezing during chapter 15.
One thing I’ve leaned about 4K discs is they have very unforgiving error correction!
daz
June 7th, 2026 - 11:11amMine played fine in my Panasonic 4K Player which I got from Zoom in 2018.
Definitely check if your players need a firmware update though.

June 7th, 2026 - 1:33pmI had a few problems on my old Xbox One with the 4K disc too. It played fine on first try (all be it a little noisy) but when I tried to play it again the next day it just wouldn’t play it. No issues with my Xbox Series X though. Probably need to get myself a proper 4K blu-ray player.

June 6th, 2026 - 5:04pmGutted there isn’t a in conversion with Paul, Daphnie, Eric and Yee Jee Tso. Maybe something they might consider for a potential Wilderness Years set if they are able to do it
daz
June 7th, 2026 - 11:13amI think that is why we didn’t get anything new from Paul on this set as it will all be done for the Wilderness Years Collection.
Hoping their is a minisode too as the trailer with 8.
The interviews with the supporting cast were good but could easily get in conversations too.

June 1st, 2026 - 1:42pmYeah it looks like the Christmas Special is in doubt struggling to find a lead actor, I find that hard to believe but then again the BBC have been struggling with financial difficulties. But I agree with some of you. It needs maybe go back to its roots as it hasn’t been the actors that is down to the poor writing, Whittaker and Gatwa the stories were too political which make more like reality and that’s not the way to go when writing Science Fiction. It should be like it used to be fast paced adventure aliens, monsters, and death. And the Doctor is the hero to stop them. Maybe go back to making it like the old days and it’s original 25 mins with a cliffhanger that was the excitement and the thrill of it for the viewer to tune in for the next episode.
If the next show runner goes down the same path and it is too political it will kill the show. Less political more excitement and adventure.
Scotel
June 1st, 2026 - 2:06pmDavies was on the radio today and when asked when we’d be hearing about a new Doctor he responded the press release was due in a week or two (timing subject to BBC bureaucracy). The idea they couldn’t find an actor is utterly ridiculous, there will be plenty of people out there glad to get a year’s work minimum and Davies (whether you love him or hate him as a viewer) still has a name that brings a lot of attention in the industry.
Prof Horner
June 1st, 2026 - 2:31pmIt seems to me we are in a 1989 situation again. Are The BBC going to tell us that they currently working on taking the series forward and then another year goes by and still nothing? The difference is I don’t care if they if or they don’t .this time. The one thing I don’t like is people who want to erase the last two Doctors from the history of the series, because they don’t like the so called woke agenda. I am no fan of Colin Baker and Sylvester Mccoy, but they are still played The Doctor . We will see what happens.
Andy
June 1st, 2026 - 4:09pmThere’s no doubt about it that Whittaker and Gatwa are great actors that is alll down to the poor writing, they wasn’t given the chance fo flourish the stories were just to political but that is all down to the writing. Every actor who played the Doctor had their own character to put there own stamp on it. They all had the own references to relate to. Whittaker and Gatwa didn’t have that opportunity the effects were great that was down to the bigger budget of Disney.
Now I don’t agree that the situation is the same as in 1989, Colin Baker in my own opinion should have been allowed to do another season as I thought he was starting to adapt in his last season. The fact was the controller of BBC 1 didn’t like Doctor Who he tried in 1985 when it was rested for 18 months but started a fan petition campaign. He knew that when McCoy took over when again it moved from the Saturday tea time slot to a prime slot at 7.35 on a Monday for his first season, which was fair enough because some of McCoy stories were a bit dark for a tea time, but then they moved it to Wednesday on the same time as corrie and those days there was no iPlayer or repeats in thoose days so if you didn’t have a video recorder or another TV then those fans would have missed it due to the fact that their parents were corrie fans. And I think the controller of BBC 1 knew this he was finding ways to get rid of it and the only way was to jeopardise the ratings which it contributed to been axed.
So no I don’t think this is the same situation as the BBC have said they have no plans to cancel it. It just needs a fresh start if its now going to be a easter special in 2027 maybe bring back one of the past actors to play the Doctor for a couple of Specials then start plans for a fresh brand new series in the Autumn of 2028 with a new actor.
But i do find that hard to believe that they are struggling to find anybody even if it’s just for one year to not being risked of becoming type cast. We all know what they are like for surprises when it come to Doctor Who. Sometimes no news is sometimes good news is coming and they have been teasing us with all this nonsense of the Christmas Special been delayed. We will just have to wait and see. Even a past actor would probably jump at the chance of stepping back into the TARDIS for one last trip.

June 1st, 2026 - 4:24pmI have to agree with prof on some counts. It feels like a similar situation to the late eighties. I personally think to just reboot and dismiss doctors is not the way forward, in fact that would very disrespectful to the actors involved in the Davies return. It wasn’t the acting it was scripts that were the issue. I also have to agree that I’m not bothered if who is finished. I actually am using the Christmas special (assuming it goes ahead as originally planned or becomes an easter special instead, but I’ll take all reports with a pinch of salt until we get official confirmation) as the final test. If I don’t like it I done I think. Just a personal thing but at 56 years of age I’m not sure how much interest in new who I have. Even if it continues with new show runner, new cast, new writers I just don’t know how I feel anymore. I loved smith, capaldi and jodie but have made secret of my feelings about both Davies eras. These days I’m just more interested in classic and certain new who eras.

June 5th, 2026 - 2:59pmThe BBC hated Who then. Now it’s one of their top shows, which they value. It can be made on a budget, but they a co partner to spread the risk of nobody buying it. If they recast the Doctor under RTD or let him have an influence it’s finished for good. I don’t miss it as I gave up on it. I enjoy the classic collections and animations
James
May 31st, 2026 - 10:11amA rádio times interview/article online yesterday with Geoffrey Sax. He said he be up for working with Paul McGann again…even for a spin-off/mini series.
With a new series/reboot/continuation of the current run maybe the bbc could focus of this for now. As apparently they are finding it hard to locate an actor to cover the main role. Rtd saying no filming until next year.
But you never know this could be a massive secret to make it a huge surprise at Christmas.

May 31st, 2026 - 12:44pmI am sure we would all love to see more Paul Mcgann Doctor Who on TV. Maybe some TV movies. After all Paul is 67 and maybe not up for a full series. But would it be popular with the general public? What ever happens,we need a fresh production team to take the series forward. But as it stands at the moment I don’t care if they never make anymore Who . Much more interest for me is the next season boxset, animations ( we still don’t know for sure they are doing any more) and hopefully more missing episodes returns.
Gordon
May 31st, 2026 - 1:48pmThe show needs fresh blood and a look to the future. Sure let’s Get Paul but what happens when he leaves? We are back to square one.
James
May 31st, 2026 - 2:18pmProf. Maybe not a full series but a mini series and Xmas special.
Wasn’t keen of s1/2 rtd2 era. 60th was ok just a bit short.
If they did a new series with a new lead they could do a few special eps similar to 2009. Have the new doc introduced in an Easter special. Then have a summer and autumn special. Finishing with a 2 part Xmas special. Then start a new full series the year after.
Easter 2027 (March/April), Summer 2027 (July/August), Autumn 2027 (October), Christmas 2027 (ChristmasEve and Christmas Day or Christmas Day/Boxing Day).
Then 2028 March/April start date running for 12 eps of more 2 parters, a summer break for 2 weeks then back with final 5 eps with a big finale.
Or push this back to 2028 specials and a 2029 series. Fill 2027 with 8 Doc mini series airing September time (old Merlin, Atalantis, Three Musketeers slot) for say 6 eps and a Christmas Special.
A dream I know.
Gordon. They could do the Paul mini series whilst filming the new new era for the following year. Would give them more time to find a lead and show runner.
Agreed who wouldn’t want more Paul Doctor on our screens.
Bob
May 31st, 2026 - 3:56pmI think they’ve missed the boat for a live action Paul McGann series, but I don’t see why they couldn’t do bring it to life as an animated series.
We’re nearing the end of the missing episodes so it could be a good opportunity to start making original stories or even adapt some of the novels and audios.
Scotel
May 31st, 2026 - 4:26pmThe animations are going through sheer determination and the promise it makes streaming deals look better if Classic Who is complete.
If there were to be some new project (for example like the Cbeebies cartoon) it will have to be specifically funded, the missing episode animations will not be replaced by anything, they are barely viable as is.
Missyrules
May 31st, 2026 - 6:22pmScotel is right. The animations probably will not continue beyond the remaining missing episodes. It is also still a possibility that we won’t see all episodes animated due to costs versus viability. Marco will be extremely expensive to make as will master plan even if they only animated the remaining seven episodes.
Anonymous
May 31st, 2026 - 8:48pmI asked Paul McGann at a convention earlier this year if he would be up for returning and he inferred that he’d be up for anything they offered, so it’s not too late as far as he’s concerned.
Professor Flibble
May 31st, 2026 - 9:07pmI’ve got to say I find it incredibly disappointing Doctor Who’s expanded media is the way that it is. Not to totally discredit the Big Finish audios, but until they actually animate any of them, I don’t think they’re an effective substitute for the show when it’s off-air, because they’re an acquired taste. Doctor Who is inherently visual, and it’s a shame that most of its recorded output is stuff you can only listen to. There’s so much potential for Doctor Who doing original animated content, that if done, people could actually take it seriously as a sci-fi franchise.
Ano miss
May 31st, 2026 - 9:13pmAnimation is incredibly expensive to do officially. I really don’t think the market is there for animated big finish stories.
Professor Flibble
June 1st, 2026 - 12:03amOK I say that, my point is I think Doctor Who needs a lot more original animated content than it actually gets.
Amypondfan
June 1st, 2026 - 11:09amAs has been said though it’s expensive to make original animation and the market for any doctor who animation is limited. The Tennant animations didn’t do great. I’d still love to see the matt Smith adventure games converted to animations but that’s not going to happen. I’ve got them on dvds and they are great fun but animations have a limited appeal with fandom that makes the costs of making them a concern, they have to sell and I agree with others, I just don’t know if they would.
Professor Flibble
June 1st, 2026 - 2:44pmLet’s be real, though. That’s not a good thing. Doctor Who’s expanded media is full of tertiary content. Circuit Breaker, for instance, just seems cheap. It’s the same old things, books, audios, comics, with a label slapped on them to give the impression of an “event.”
If there’s any financially viable way they can get animated content done, they should do it. Doctor Who’s actual universe really needs to be expanded, not the same old spin-off shows about “what happens to Earth when the Doctor isn’t around” or audio dramas that like one or two passionate fans are gonna listen to then say “Just listen to this” like the fact that Paul McGann’s era is comprised of just audios isn’t a major hurdle. Fans will act like “Ah it’s fine if the show goes off air, we’ve got all this stuff.” Yeah, good for you. You don’t care about Doctor Who as a visual medium, fine. I actually like seeing the monsters and planets, and the characters talking to each other.
Amypondfan
June 1st, 2026 - 2:53pmEr, who are you talking too prof? I’m not saying that at all!
Professor Flibble
June 1st, 2026 - 3:02pmAh no, I just get like this sometimes, I’m not saying you’re saying those things but I’ve seen people say them. I’m just frustrated that Doctor Who’s always held back and it’ll never realise its potential as a franchise cause it can’t afford it.
Professor Flibble
June 1st, 2026 - 3:05pmBy “you” I meant the general “you,” like I’m taking “to” the fans who say its all totally fine. MrTARDISReviews, as much as I like him and his videos, does make out like there isn’t way more Doctor Who’s expanded media could be doing in terms of appealing to mainstream audiences.
Scotel
June 1st, 2026 - 3:57pmWith the greatest of respect it sounds more like you dislike audio stories than anyone dislikes visual Doctor Who. Big Finish offers a fundamentally different type of story than another medium would. An animation over a Big Finish audio would go about as well as trying to make a movie by doing a 1:1 copy of a novel’s dialogue because it is not designed to have visuals.
When you look at other franchises which are significantly larger than Doctor Who, they don’t treat animation as a side project. It’s an expensive venture and not something that can be treated lightly. It’s not the sort of job for “expanded media” to be handling.
Professor Flibble
June 1st, 2026 - 5:00pmI don’t dislike audio stories. I dislike that so much of Doctor Who is audio-only content that’s very difficult to get into. I dislike that when we’re in a drought like we are at the moment, there’s nothing watchable to tide us over. I dislike that the missing episode animations are the only way we’ll get proper animated Doctor Who content and they’re providing visuals for stories that already exist. I dislike that if I want to watch Paul McGann as the Doctor, I have to watch the TV Movie for the hundredth time or the six minute short where he gets killed off.
I mean sure the impetus shouldn’t just be on the financially struggling expanded media outlets to do animation. But someone somewhere should do it. When they’re done with the missing episode animations, who’s to say there isn’t a market for original animations? Where they can let loose and do something very imaginative with characters we don’t usually get to see? It’s just very depressing that we have to temper our expectations all the time. I’m insanely jealous of Star Wars, Star Trek etc as franchises
Rory, the original you might say
June 1st, 2026 - 5:23pmI love all Who for what it is. The audios are fantastic for bringing back the actors and giving them a chance to do more stories unhindered by the limitations of TV budgets. The novels are much the same, but without having to worry about getting the actors.
The animations are a fantastic way to bring life to missing episodes, and seem to sell enough to be commercially viable.
While I’d love to see new stories as animations, the bar for viability is considerably higher. You need new scripts and all new voice casts just to start, along with all of the technical work (sound design, music, etc.) that is already largely covered for the missing episodes.
Professor Flibble
June 1st, 2026 - 6:10pmSee I reflect on what I say, and it comes across like I’m ungrateful for what we DO have. I’ll always admit I really struggle to get into Big Finish, I like seeing the visual spectacle of Doctor Who and it’s all on the CD covers. That, and I like to know what characters and settings are supposed to look like, otherwise I have a hard time imagining them. But still the lack of original animated stuff is something I’ll always find a massive shame. And I find it a shame that so much of Doctor Who’s output I struggle to engage with. And that’s the output where you actually get to…well, hear how the Sixth Doctor met Mel, the Eighth Doctor having any adventures, that sort of thing. I wish there wasn’t a barrier for that kind of stuff.
The Infinite Quest and Dreamland are two of my favourite Tennant episodes, and they’re really fun adventures where budget isn’t a concern. But it’ll never not absolutely suck that those two episodes and Scream of the Shalka are pretty much all the legitimate animated Doctor Who content we have. And the last of those was in 2009.
Peter
May 29th, 2026 - 10:33pmI’ve just realised: the broadcast edit of the UK edition isn’t on this, is it? Also… where is the Dr’s Strangelove? Feel like I’m being really dense tonight trying to navigate this release (I don’t have a player that can handle disc 1).
Bob
May 30th, 2026 - 1:19amStrange Love is on the bonus disc but it has several “pages” of features so you may need to go through them all.
The Unlicensed Physician
May 29th, 2026 - 7:01pmIs there anything different in the sequence when The Master removes his fingernail and flicks it away? There’s a reference to part being missing on the Rewind/DVDCompare site comparison, although I think someone else would have noticed by now and the person who added the comparison doesn’t have the best reputation for details.

May 29th, 2026 - 7:05pmI just watched the US version and I saw him peel it away but I don’t think it showed him flick it away. I wonder if the scene is edited slightly different.

May 27th, 2026 - 12:10amHaving watched the movie 5 times to go through the various options (uk and us versions, 2 scommentaries and production subtitles) I’ve got to say I’m so impressed on the reassembling for this release. It looks amazing and pops on 4k plus the sound remastering is a revelation. It feels far more cinematic than it has done previously. There is one very brief shot missing of an x-ray about 9 mins in but considering how much of an upgrade the entire thing is I can overlook it.
The new extras are fun. When Janet met Sylvester is fun wee chat and the 3 new interviews featuring daphnie, Jay and Eric/eliza feel like filling a gap that always felt like it was missing on previously releases. The Geoffrey sax in conversation is usual Matthew sweet standards. Looking at the alternative opening I’m glad they picked Paul. The only thing really missing is any sort of Paul interview which I’m sure a wilderness years set will probably have. Looking at the deleted and alternative scenes I’m not sure there will be an extended version for the wilderness years set as the 3 extra scenes we do have don’t really add much.
Prowl 1701
May 27th, 2026 - 10:24pmMy Steelbook made it in, a huge shoutout to my subscriber/patron Unknown 289 for sending it as it has sold out so fast. The Steelbook looks even better in hand and I’m looking forward to sitting down and watching the 4K version of the movie in the next few days.
It’s crazy to me how little involvement with this 4K set that Paul has had. No In Conversation with him, or other new VAM material and it’s McCoy narrating the trailer instead of him. Very odd, I wonder if Paul is tied up with other work. I think it’s a another good sign for a wilderness years collection set eventually as I’m sure they want to do an In Conversation with Paul at some point.
Professor Flibble
May 28th, 2026 - 12:53amNot to mention, it’s Sylvester doing the audio navigation.
I think Paul’s indicated he’s on board with doing stuff for a Wilderness Years set.
DPHill
May 28th, 2026 - 1:59amYes i think he would line that, meet him twice one at convention and then at bfi, he first said two years ago that he’d love to be involved on one of the sets as every other doctor will have one, why not him? But said he was too busy when they wanted to talk to him, then fast forward to bfi this year, he said if the set I’m happy about it as now we know what’s happening with it, so good signs i think – which likely will be the draw if the movie on the collection set with proper Paul stuff and hopefully a lot of it

May 26th, 2026 - 11:37amYeah watched mine over the bank holiday weekend much better picture. I hate to stress to some of you guys if you haven’t got the right equipment to experience the full scale of 4k Ultra HD then you will not be able to tell the difference from the DVD versions or standard Blu-ray. Yeah a bit disappointed that the extras don’t include the photo gallery which is misleading as it states it has all previously released special features. But never mind i like the detail they have done with it.
J45ON96
May 29th, 2026 - 3:10pmI’m sorry, but that’s just factually incorrect. The original film elements have gone through a complete scan and is presented in full HD for the first time on Blu-Ray.
Previous releases were all based on the original broadcast tapes made from those film reels, and while this was fine for VHS and DVD, the initial Blu-ray release was just an upscale of this, and not true High definition in anything but name.
Because of the scans made, there is absolutely a difference between both the 4K and Blu-ray versions of this new release and every prior version of the film, even the original broadcast version was never in this quality.
MIKK89
May 26th, 2026 - 2:33amReceived mine at about 7pm, and I am currently (writing this at 02:26am), the quality of the picture is much better than the previous versions I have owned (I owned the Revisitations SE version, the Last Blu-Ray that used an upscaled remaster of the DVD Release) and this is cleaner and clearer.
I liked seeing the Alternative opening included, and while shocked Night of the Doctor isn’t on here, I own the 50th Anniversay Specials Steelbook that includes it so it doesn’t bother me too much. And the photo gallery not being on the disc I can just the DVD disc out of my last BD version.

May 25th, 2026 - 8:25pmMy blu-ray version has arrived today and to be frank I genuinely couldn’t see much of an improvement in the picture quality, in fact it seemed a bit more jarred in places. Maybe I’ll rewatch the special edition DVD so I can see if it’s me or not. Some good new extras, but I don’t feel overwhelmed by it I’m sorry to say. And definitely don’t get rid of the DVD version as there is no photo album added on this release.
Maybe it’s the heat today, but I do feel flat after watching this. Sorry.

May 26th, 2026 - 12:20pmSorry but this post is click bait.

May 25th, 2026 - 9:18amI wonder if I’m the only person this happened to… but I ordered the Steelbook understanding that my blu-ray player (Panasonic DMP-BDT180EB) was a 4k player, and this would be my first 4k disc to use that function. When I loaded the disc last night I discovered the player cannot play UHD Blu-ray Discs; it upscales videos to 4K. Very shocked and kind of disappointed. Still really enjoyed the HD version, and unsure I would notice much difference from HD to 4K on my 43” TV?…
Ricky
May 25th, 2026 - 9:35amThat’s a shame ,but yes it’s only a 4k upscaling unit . A 4k Uhd player would of been quite a bit more expensive .
I know of some people that have bought a 4 UHD disc and tried to play it in their standard bluray player too so your not alone is confusing the formats,as they are both Blu-ray ,just different .
Honestly ,on a TV of that size your not go see to see a massive difference,as the Blu-ray will be pristine and the 4k scaled picture will be of very high quality ,it’s a Panasonic after all.
However you will miss out on the HDR and wide colour range of the native 4k disc, but thats also dependant on the quality of the TV panel as to whether it would do HDR and wide colour well enough anyway.

May 25th, 2026 - 12:57pmThanks Ricky, yes I think I’ll hold off on getting a UHD BD player for now. I can’t afford to have two separate players; I use my blu-ray player daily, and am put off by the seemingly short life span of UHD BD players (around 3 years from what I read?) and the unreliability they seem to have. A shame but hopefully I will one day be able to play the UHD BD TV Movie disc on a friend’s superior set up.
Ricky
May 25th, 2026 - 3:23pmIndeed nothings cheap these days .
FWIW I’ve had 2 Panasonic uhd players ,one for 6 years ,the other for 5 years and not had any issue with either ,not sure what your source on reliability issues is but I’d take it with a pinch of salt if I were you .
I know it’s not cheap but a Panasonic ub150 can be had for around £140 ISH when you catch them on offer ,they are a great little player for DVD/BD and 4K UHD BD .

May 24th, 2026 - 5:19pmIn the last few hours on various YouTube Videos are rumours that at least 2 more missing episodes have been found by Film is Fabulous. I don’t want to speculate on this as a don’t know where these rumours start but they are just click bait but the give false hope to some fans out there. But here is one comment from one of the videos.
Film is Fabulous has just found “There’s No Such Thing as a Vampire”, the first episode of a 6 episode supernatural anthology series from the 60s. Every time I hear about new finds my confidence grows. Paul Vanezis on social media posts practically confirmed that there are definitely 2 more. One he describes as being “Hair Raising”. Most likely meaning a scary one. Rumours are speculating that 1 or 2 could be from.Fury From The Deep.
I won’t believe this until they make an official statement that more have been found a mean who knows maybe if they working around the clock to catalogue private collections there might be some truth in to.it. I mean yeah great because if they from that story i believe that it wss the first appearance of the Doctors Sonic Screwdriver again great as we don’t have any episodes from this story apart from it being reconstructed using Animation. And more interesting to see if these rumoured missing episodes are cutting copies like the 2 Daleks Master Plan episodes found a couple of months ago. As these cutting copies are clues that these are sitting in someone’s film collection in a loft or something. Again i won’t like to speculate on this too much as it seems like rumours like in 2013 it started rumours that this and that had been found. I mean i remember when the Animations started coming out the first being The Power Of The Daleks people were saying all sorts of rumours on that had been found which we know wasn’t true it was the start of a run of Animations. But i will say this I’m quite confident that we may get another announcement by the end of the year. I mean it would be great if we in fact got a complete missing story and from season 4 as this was hit badly be the junking that would be nice to see more from that season.

May 24th, 2026 - 9:11pmThe two Paul Vanezis has mentioned were both supposed to be Hartnell episodes so no idea where Fury from the Deep came from. Time will tell, it always does.
Andy
May 24th, 2026 - 11:56pmYeah but nothing but rumours but one video are talking about the 70 reels that were handed over to the BBC Film is Fabulous have made that clear that they not Doctor Who just clips from various BBC shows or again is that just speculation that maybe the BBC told them to keep it quiet for now until they have examined these films.
Mmm ok that could be a possibility until they have checked them before announcement. But like you say time will tell it always does. But think these You Tubers should pack the rumours in as some of their video titles are misleading their y should just let Film is Fabulous get on with their work i know they will be honest with us if anything comes to light. But the wind does seem to be blown in the right direction.

May 25th, 2026 - 9:57amI don’t bother with the YouTubers these days. It’s all just rumours and speculation for the Xmas Special, DW future, Missing episodes etc…
All to get more viewers to their channels.
15 minute videos over a simple sentence they might have read on this very site too is a bit over the top.

May 25th, 2026 - 4:48pmIt’s all nonsense, film is fabulous has again stated they have no doctor who episodes. (23rd may)

May 28th, 2026 - 11:10pmIndeed Missy. I thought fandom would have learned after all the omnirumour nonsense after Enemy/Web? FiF! are doing nothing but good and need to be left in peace to get on with it. Stop the rumours and YouTube videos saying nothing as we *know* FiF! will keep us informed and happy when the time comes.

May 23rd, 2026 - 9:45pmIts only for the uk version. It’s a night and day difference between the previous release. The main point of the new release is the new remaster and it is glorious and the definitive version in 4k

May 23rd, 2026 - 10:37pmSteelbook arrived today so watched the 4k version – looks fantastic, especially the TARDIS set.
Did anyone else have problems with disc sticking in chapter 15 (when they’re at the atomic institute)?

May 23rd, 2026 - 10:40pmI’m curious about the alternative opening sequence, is that what we saw on the workprint? With Gordon Tipple’s narration? Or something previously unseen?
Gordon
May 24th, 2026 - 12:36amAfter all the trouble Paul Vanezis went to restore and create 9 various versions for this release I find it a little insulting you call the US version useless just because it doesn’t include production subtitles. There simply wasn’t time to do another version as the timings are different. Having seen it I can safely say It’s NOT a remaster. They don’t touch the previous dvd or blu ray assets. It’s more of a reassembling of the tv movie using all the original 35 mm assets 11th hour aka James Morris-Wyatt.
Professor Fibble yes it’s the Gordon tipple narration.

May 23rd, 2026 - 11:38amTypical Amazon dragging their heels again. Not even been charged for mine yet, let alone dispatched. Would have been nice to watch this weekend. Think I’ll start ordering elsewhere in the future.
MJS
May 23rd, 2026 - 5:40pmDragging their heels? It’s not even out til Monday!?
Andy
May 23rd, 2026 - 11:11pmI ordered mine from H mine came yesterday, Amazon are getting worse when it comes to pre-orders they never arrive on the day of release these days. H are very good they always deliver before the general release. Also ave had a lot of damaged with The Collection Box Sets in the past with Amazon poor packaging or they would try to squeeze it through the letter box which results in them getting damaged. So yeah avoid Amazon for pre-orders unless they start guarantee that pre-orders are going to be delivered on the day of release because what is the point of pre-ordering in the future if they not going to deliver on time.
MR ALAN N SILVESTER
May 24th, 2026 - 12:21pmI agree, Andy. I’ve just (maybe unwisely) renewed my Prime membership with Amazon at £95, yet increasingly they seem unable to deliver items on the day of release. If “H” can deliver before the general release date, then why can’t a company like Amazon? I pre-ordered as soon as the item was listed, yet it’s still not showing as being dispatched. So, in respect of comparing against “H”, Amazon are dragging their heels.
Andy
May 24th, 2026 - 2:33pmYeah i know that’s what i thought if you had a prime account is to guarantee delivery on the day of release so i don’t know what’s the point. Least with H you don’t have to subscribe to a delivery service and its free on orders over £20 i think. £95 a year and the tv and movies you have to rent or buy most of them and im old school i prefer physical media as these streaming services only have copyright rights for a limited period before it expires then its gone. If i was you if it hasn’t been dispatched yet by Amazon i would contact them as it is released tomorrow tell them whats the point in customers having prime subscription.

May 25th, 2026 - 6:44pmMine came today, although initially it said it was despatched yesterday. And this was from the big A. I don’t really expect things to come early, and I think the fact today is a bank holiday makes it rather more surprising I even got it on release day. I’ve had things early from them before. My last Collection Box set was damaged due to lack of packaging, but they fixed that within 48 hours. My experience with H is fairly similar to be fair, except that does rely on Royal Mail. Because of the regular vouchers available, I do find RW easily the best value, but I’ve had thing take over two weeks to turn up

May 22nd, 2026 - 11:20amI just Watched my Steelbook version of the Film. I Enjoyed watching it again. Only previously Watched the Film on the original TV Airing and hadn’t watched it since.

May 22nd, 2026 - 11:49amYeah mine just arrived from H really good ahead of the release on Monday, i really like the artwork on this, so is there much improvement to the original? Am gonna keep mine and watch it over the weekend.
