July 30th, 2015 - 4:51pmHi all. Just thought I would let you all know, I emailed the company that are doing the Complete History and they emailed my back saying
DUE TO UNFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES WE HAVE BEEN FORCED TO SUSPEND PUBLICATION OF THE SERIES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
I wonder why this is BooBoo do you have any information about this. It was due to come out in the beginning of September and now they are saying this. What’s your opinion on this.
booboo
July 30th, 2015 - 5:32pmthat seemed to be standard email, they sent out when the test was suspended
the books have been solicited in the USA
we have had no official info though

August 8th, 2015 - 3:23pmHi Booboo Just had a call from Forbidden Planet regarding the complete history its going to be out in October asking if I wanted them to order it for me. If I get the date of release Ill let u know.
Mike
July 27th, 2015 - 10:34amIs it a good omen when the advert says “Register YOU Interest” instead of “Register YOUR Interest”????
cjayp33
July 22nd, 2015 - 6:14pmThe latest issue of DWM confirms that this collection will launch in September, so looks like it passed its test launch.

July 22nd, 2015 - 6:15pmyes the 1st four issues are on previews (US)

June 17th, 2015 - 7:59pmWell complete surprise today – had issue 1 delivered! Came with a letter telling me that the test run has ended and thank you for my interest. They are hoping to launch nationally later on but have sent first issue as a thank you for my support. So, we’ll see what happens when/if it is launched nationally.

June 18th, 2015 - 3:24pmSame here 🙂
Having seen an issue I have to say I am hoping even more now that this is followed through – book looks excellent!
Fingers crossed and as someone else said I guess it would make sense to launch nationally when the new series airs

June 19th, 2015 - 10:31pmI had the same, but got the 2nd issue instead.
Doctor RevWho
June 27th, 2015 - 3:10pmI got the third one, with Capaldi. It’s really nice, and I hope they carry on with these.

September 30th, 2015 - 8:04pmHow many pages per issue, please?
timelord63
May 29th, 2015 - 4:32pmIf they are not sending out subscriptions to non test areas yet then they should state that and not telling rubbish about having no stock.

June 10th, 2015 - 8:31amWell just received this e-mail from Hatchette after countless e-mails asking what is happening with my subscription;
“We would like to thank you for your enthusiasm and support for the Doctor Who Book Collection Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have been forced to suspend publication of the series until further notice.
We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and hope that it has not affected your support for the publication in the future. Please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service Department on 03333001510 should you have comments or queries.”
I’m guessing there wont be a national release then 🙁
booboo
June 10th, 2015 - 8:55amnot sure
maybe that’s what they say at the end of the test although it would be hardly unforeseen
have to wait and see

June 14th, 2015 - 3:52pmI wouldn’t worry Timelord63, that’s the pretty standard message part-work publishers send out at the end of test-period (included use of the familiar words ‘suspended’ and ‘unforeseen’).
The line ‘your support for the publication in the future’ is a bit of a hint too.
I strongly suspect this will go to national release, probably in the Autumn when the new season airs. It is possible us early subscribers might not received anything ’til then.

May 12th, 2015 - 1:53pmHi. Has anybody received any issues yet? I keep getting told they’re out of stock, then they’ve got stock, then they’re out again! Customer service is appalling!
Sinderby Duck
May 20th, 2015 - 9:08amYes Just been told a similar tale, not a great start for a new product and I hope this is not the start of things to come.

May 20th, 2015 - 12:46pmOh, dear! I had thought with a different company doing this we would not have the same problems as Eaglemoss/Database Factory. Will have to see what happens?
booboo
May 20th, 2015 - 12:48pma think issue 4 is in the test area shops
could it be subscriptions will be held over until national release
PVW
June 4th, 2015 - 11:49amI emailed before subscribing and was told issue 1 was available immediately
After no reply for weeks I was told it would be up to 28 days
That time passed and I was next told it was in transit
Now having not received anything I am told that it has been suspended
Lies and Damnation – I stated that I am not impressed as a customer who has signed up to potential £800 spend they can’t even tell you anything proactively and to bare face lie!
At least to be sent a copy of the first issue which has been produced would be small comfort but nothing :((((
booboo
June 4th, 2015 - 11:53amthat’s the problem with these test issues (which are necessary)
most subscribers dont know its a test, or even if they do things dont happen as the blurb suggests so when it doesn’t work out its very frustrating.
PVW
June 4th, 2015 - 11:57amThe thing is I did know it was in test which was why I emailed first
I was going to wait for national release and get the first few copies in the shop to evaluate it first
But when they said it was available immediately I was hooked like a sucker lol
I understand the test thing etc – just don’t like the repeated lies 🙁
booboo
June 4th, 2015 - 12:04pmits very frustrating i know
I suppose customer support they have their standard script to work to across the board. I doubt they actually know what’s really going on behind the scenes.
I’m getting the impression that subscribers issues were from unsold returned shop stock hence the delays, and perhaps not enough returns to cover subscribers at all.
i have yet to hear of anyone who has got a subscribers issue to be honest.
cjayp33
June 4th, 2015 - 4:35pmThe thing with all Partwork test lunches is that they only really make enough stock for the shops therefore meaning there is little to none available to subscribers. This is why if you subscribe to test launch series you won’t receive any issues or if you do they will be damaged. You will get told lies such as out of stock/no stock, its on its way because they don’t want to reveal the real reason which is you were never going to get any issues when you subscribed to the test series as all stock is for the shop.
The same thing happened to me with the figurine collection where after countless emails back and forth was told ” As I am sure you have been told we have no stock at this time. During the test we get little or none.”

April 28th, 2015 - 6:10pmBooboo,
I have subscribed to the book collection. If this is a test run and they make a few changes to the collection for example. Would they send the updated versions to the test subscribers free of charge or is this just to see how many to print when it rolls out across the U.K or both?
booboo
April 28th, 2015 - 6:12pmThey should start over again and give those who have paid the “correct” run
However as these are quite high cost items it wouldn’t surprise me if the run stayed the same.
Not heard of anyone getting subs copies yet
Sean Doran
April 28th, 2015 - 7:24pmShould get my first issue about mid May.

booboo
April 18th, 2015 - 8:47pmseems to be Liverpool Manchester area
no idea on national date but could be months away
simon
April 21st, 2015 - 11:48amMany thanks for info. if they do 7 issues like all the other Who stuff they have done it will go for 6/7 issues and then should start around 5-6 weeks later I think.lol but don’t hold me to it. many thanks again
Star Lord
April 18th, 2015 - 12:22pmWhen is it released??
Paul
April 17th, 2015 - 10:09amAny details on the Exclusive Audio? £9.99 a hit is a bit steep, especially if this comes out fortnightly
Oliver Crabtree
April 17th, 2015 - 7:38amI dont know whether I can be bothered to get this or not, it is overpriced if you ask me, but is it worth giving it a go and stop getting the figurine collection?
Sam Richard Bentley
April 17th, 2015 - 10:57amIf you’ve started collecting the figurine collection, and getting this means you’d have to stop – don’t!
Once you start collecting something, you should finish your collection. Especially if you aren’t sure the thing you are stopping it for is worth it!
I think you answer your own question.
Oliver Crabtree
April 17th, 2015 - 3:13pmBut I cant afford everything, I can have one or the other, is it worth having, or am I best sticking with the FC
booboo
April 17th, 2015 - 3:18pmWell it depends if you overall preferences are books or figures
I certainly would stop the figurine collection myself
Sam Richard Bentley
April 17th, 2015 - 4:16pmI know you can’t afford both. That’s why I said I think, if you don’t think these books are you worth the money, you shouldn’t cancel the figurines.
mick
April 17th, 2015 - 5:13pmwhy would you stop the figurine collection booboo? don’t collect them myself, arnt they very good?
Anonymous
April 17th, 2015 - 10:23pmI think the figures are very good; get the figures.
The TARDIS
April 17th, 2015 - 6:56amCan anyone who’s managed to pick this up tell me which town/city they found it in? I live in the north, so I’d love to be able to get a copy.
Bonkers
April 16th, 2015 - 6:29pmSo if I subscribe, will the non-test ones be different?
Will I need to re-buy the non-test issues when they’re released? Is there any point in subscribing at the moment?
Janet
April 17th, 2015 - 1:21pmI picked up #1 of their Judge Dredd series, (not realising, at the time, that I was in the test area), and I noticed that the spine art was changed on the relaunch three months later. So it’s possible that test copies won’t match up on that point.
booboo
April 17th, 2015 - 1:25pmI know Monster invasion Changed the order but dont know what happened to the test subscribers, and some of the free gifts changed.
I think its fair to say the figurine test subscribers ended up with an inferior 11th Doctor than the national release subscribers
Janet
April 18th, 2015 - 2:29pmJust did a search and found that the Dredd collection ran four issues as a test.
When it was relaunched, test subscribers received the new #1-4 free.
