I agree, Booboo. If not, then late August, or if they’re pushing it: Early January.

I love the look of this collection! The TV and Film industry is what i want to get into and have been studying it for years! This set not only is a look behind the camera but for Doctor Who! However at the moment I am struggling to pay bills I already have! So for now i’m not going to subscribe and see if/when it has national release if I am finacially able to start collecting!

For 9.99 I would like it to be collectable and worth something’s in the future
In a couple of months they will be like £3 each on eBay!

Is there a discount for subscribing ?

no but you get all the free gifts

    • booboo

      April 16th, 2015 - 8:04am

yes people drop off and they are sold off on ebay in the early days, happens with all part works but it depends if you actually want the complete series

The only way to ensure it is to subscribe from day one

    • bryan Simcott

      April 16th, 2015 - 10:51am

A small one, as the first issue is free with you first delivery .But as booboo says, it is negligable discount, but you do get the free gifts. and at this price point, I would be surprised if many would fling them on Ebay (hardback books are more collectable, and would hold some of thier value for longer.

although the first 4 months will be telling as thats when the free gifts run out (for now)

if you look on the website it says the 8th doctor only did one story, no mention about the night of the doctor

      April 15th, 2015 - 11:19pm

That’s because Night was a mini-episode/prequel. It doesn’t count. It’ll be mentioned in the TV Movie book though, I’m sure.

I’ve decided not to collect these now. They’re a lot of money, and although they look great, I’d only really be interested in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th and 11th ones really. And, as my father pointed out, I am better off continuing my DVD collection, than starting this, as lovely as it is.

  • StetsonDoctor

First glance: Woah! 12 Guides, 1 for each of the doctors, about every episode! This looks amazing! I’ve been waiting for this for years.

Second Look: Oh wait, each one only covers a few episodes…

    Then: Uh-Oh! 80 issues!

Finally: So that’s just under £700 if I subscribe. Yeah, maybe I’ll take a miss on this one…

I’ve been waiting for years for them to do one single guide book, with just like a page about each episode (Like the pages you’d see in the Ultimate Monster Guide). With this coming out, that seems like an impossibility.

I know there’s some unofficial ones, but they only ever include like a blurb on each episode, and then just give cast notes.

If the material is accurate Id say this is going to be ‘the Encyclopedia Britannica’ of Dr Who…of course got to see how accurate it is. There are some basic mistakes in the dvd mags…different company I know….

its always going to look expensive this way and shouldn’t put people off, same as the figurine collection
