One of my favourite costumes the 4th Doctor wears. I like it better with the boots in Destiny. Good story and is one of the better Romana episodes.

One of the very few “classic” stories (along with The Space Museum and Day of the Daleks), that actually played around with time travel….something that has been put right in recent years.

Brilliant story. One of the best.

Probably the most entertaining classic Who story and certainly one of the best. Some brilliant lines in it too. With the possible exception of The Caves of Androzani, there have been no better classic stories since and probably only a few 2005+ stories.

Videos:I am staggered why Doctor Who collectors get rid of them. Doctor Who is first and foremost about the tv series; which manifested itself best with VHS from ’83 to ’04, and second best although more relevant today with DVD from ’00 to ’14 (classic series). Yes DVD is a bit easier to store, and picture quality is better on flat screen televisions.

At the end of the day a VHS is a piece of Doctor Who merchandise. So why is it any less significant than another bit of plastic. Also fans today don’t appreciate the difficulties of seeing Doctor Who pre-DVD days. If any one has thrown away a copy of The Daemons, there was a time when these were worth over £220 (probably £350+ in today’s money).

I remember i couldn’t wait for a Monday to arrive to see what VHS releases there were that month.

I hated it when they changed the cover style, i like everything to looks the same in a collection

Yeah, I have very happy memories of collecting the videos – finding Twin Dilemma in Woolworths when it was released unannounced; promising my mum when Logopolis came out that ‘that would be the last one’ (ha ha); My Grandma visiting a shop on holiday and bringing me The Silurians; the first real ‘special’ release of the Dalek tin with The Chase/Remembrance; Shada released for the first time (awful cover/spine); Tomb of the Cybermen hitting the top of the charts after it was found; paying £40 for Armageddon Factor because I missed it first time round and in the late 90s they were pretty hard things to get hold of;…..I could go on and on, buying the videos, collecting the Target novels and then the New Adventures and going to conventions once or twice a year, these were the staple of when I lived and breathed Doctor Who – happy times.

I hate how the US marketers chose a whole different style of DVD cover, the roundel aesthetic looks so cool. And the fact the early releases relied on off-putting close-ups of the actors over any cool design just makes it worse.

Gosh, what a comprehensive guide – never realised quite how much merchandise there was for some stories. Still often think there’s just a target novel and a video available. Great coverage of a great story!
