Having a nightmare with this from Zoom. It’s being delivered to my workplace, but that’s shut and Zoom can’t change the delivery address even though its not been shipped (It been in ‘sent to the warehouse’ status since 4th March due to the cock-up with the discs). No idea if I’ll get it or not. Not really important considering the wider situation at the moment, but sigh. 🙁

@TheErgon @Napoleon I’m hoping myself that Zoom & HMV, Zavvi etc. won’t be too far behind now that Amazon are sending them out. I’m assuming but I don’t know do all these online retail companies get stock all around the same time?

Well after all the waiting for season 12 I ordered with Zavvi to my work address which is now closed due to the virus. Contacted them and they say they cannot amend delivery details so it will be sent to my work which is closed and then gets sent back to the warehouse if delivery can’t be made. So after all of this I still won’t ever get a copy of season 12. Gutted.

Yeah Jon. I’m gutted too. I bought a copy of this set on ebay from Zoom. I chose Argos as the delivery address. Argos stores are now closed and I’ll be unable to collect the set. Really really p***ed off.

    • dazzleshell

      March 25th, 2020 - 7:50pm

Argos inside Sainsbury’s are still open.

Can you message them to change address via Ebay? Never had to do it myself so not sure.

    • Simon Maxwell

      March 26th, 2020 - 9:08am

The Argos I chose was a stand alone store – not in a Sainsbury’s. I contacted Zoom through ebay to request a change of address. They replied, “sorry for the inconvenience, blah blah, at this stage we are unable to change the delivery address, blah blah.” So, basically, I’m screwed and will have to resort to paying the extortionate prices demanded by the greedy bar stewards on ebay.

    • booboo

      March 26th, 2020 - 9:19am

Begs the question how are they going to deliver it to Argos when the store is shut?, they are just going to be sat in some warehouse somewhere uncollected an eventually returned to zoom at which time they should look to send direct.

But once the stock is there it will get delivered but don’t expect it on or before release day. Stuff will gradually trickle out of places.

My card has been charged today for this item (Amazon) so I am hopeful it will land on my doormat early next week. I was thinking the same thing, in the grand scheme of things I can absolutely wait a bit – provided I DO get it eventually.

I am also hopeful that now this one is about to be despatched – we may find out what the next release is beyond S14. I have heard many rumours of S20 and S11 along with one of the “New” series this year – suspected to be a Tennant year. But again, in the grand scheme of things I imagine production of the physical sets will take a back seat. I would be happy to pre order now – for delivery in 2023 lol

If this set is delayed I’ll be more understanding than before but still angry since they have delayed these sets for stupid reasons in the past. Season 12 and season 14 should arrive on the same day and not face further pushbacks when this is all fading out. Perhaps a discount on another release should be issued for people who have had season 12 on order during both delays.

I’ll be astonished if season 14 is released on the beginning of may. The uk wIll be in chaos for quite some time. Season 12 might make it just. It will be just essential deliveries and supplies. Honestly as much as I love these sets they aren’t essential. It will probably get postponed indefinitely until this situation calms down which is fine. No need to put people’s life at stake over a box set

  • Adam

    March 19th, 2020 - 11:11am

I don’t want to be the harbinger of bad news but it’s looking increasingly unlikely that this cursed S12 will make its release date – we’re most likely looking a further delays. In the best case scenario that it does arrive, then it’s likely to be the only set for a very long time. Certainly S14 will be held back – until June, July, possibly even later. S20 and S11 were mooted for this year but we’ll probably only see one of those – very definitely at the end of 2020.

I was given a refund but told to keep the set but still it’s amazons cock up that has made me potentially never get the correct box set I ordered. I guess I’ll wait to see if I hear from amazon or the bbc

    • dazzleshell

      March 17th, 2020 - 12:34am

With Amazon you can’t order a replacement as there’s no option on their systems as it is not in stock. They advise to do it once it is in stock again. Which doesn’t guarantee a thing.

I was given a £15 goodwill credit off my next purchase for the hassle as I’ve sent numerous emails and spoke to them on the phone.

Ryan. If you have been given a full refund I imagine that is it as far as Amazon is concerned as you got it for Free.

I’m waiting to see what the BBC comes back to me with as they are contacting Amazon directly now. I think we’ll have to rely on BBC replacing the discs if Amazon can’t.

    • Rob W

      March 17th, 2020 - 9:36am

Sounds like a good result Dazzleshell and I’m sure you’ll also get replacement discs.

    Hi everyone.

Here is response from the BBC if you have a copy of the recalled Season 12 2nd Edition.

    Dear Darran,

Many thanks for taking the time to contact us regarding your recent problem with your Doctor Who: The Collection – Season 12 Blu-ray.

Earlier this month we moved the release date for this title from 2nd March to 30th March as we had detected some faulty stock in our supply chain. This stock was immediately stopped at distribution.

Unfortunately we have learned today that some of this incorrect stock has slipped through to our customers.

A corrected batch has been manufactured and will be ready for the revised release date of March 30th.

Please bear with us while we work with our retail partners on a solution to get the corrected stock to you.

    Kind regards,

    BBC DVD Support

I’ve been dealing with Amazon on email too but was waiting for what the BBC response was.

I told the BBC that due to Amazon’s systems they can only see product as being unavailable as it is sold out and can’t offer replacements. So it is good they are contacting them too now.

Sounds like amazon accidentally sent off some of the recalled stock. If you haven’t already contacted the dvd enquiry line on [email protected] please do. With it not being reported till Friday afternoon and it being the weekend you won’t get a proper response till Monday at the very earliest. I hear you, but that should be the least of our worries since the sets are a complete mess.

It’s clearly just a little sop to those who paid a ton on Ebay to the scalpers first time around.

2 versions of the same product, both screwed up in more than one way. So who cares what “edition” we have…

    • Rob W

      March 15th, 2020 - 7:53pm

Apparantly the discs have the artwork for Season 10 but when played are Seasson 12. One of the CGI Revenge Of The Cybermen Sky Striker shot may have not been fixed. Not everyone has been sent there copy yet so it’s probably a mix up that only affects some Amazon orders.

Finally got mines. Again with everyone else, wrong disc art but I’m going to try and get refund but only if I can keep it. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to get the correct cover art on the discs but just grateful to have it.

Very nice photo, thanks. A pity other problems (disc art), CGI effects that are more noticable.

Images of this new release on Twitter shows they’ve ALSO managed to screw up the art on the spine, showing the monsters like on Season 23. How. On. Earth. Do you go from having it correct before, to making the second release worse. Surely it should be improved if anything. (Such as the model shot error on the disk) but nope.

Do you have a Twitter link to the photos of the spine of the new edition? Thanks

Maybe it was intentional in order to easily differentiate between first and second editions? Though, given the other cock ups, it may not.

Just looked at mine as I never noticed. Tbh. Might have been done on purpose to be another difference for the 2nd Edition.

It doesn’t bother me too much though. I display mine with covers facing forward.

I’ll send a pic to BooBoo like I did with the J-Card. So he can put it on here when he has time

Sorry didn’t mean to post twice, the account with the picture is @MacaulyCairns, who I believe is somewhere on this site too

    Hi everyone.

Amazon appear to be pretty useless due to what their Customer Service staff can see on their systems. So if you have the 2nd Edition but with wrong images on the discs they simply don’t understand and you can’t return it for a replacement as it is sold out. (Even though they will probably receive corrected stock later in month).

I have sent an email with Photo’s of my Set and hope they pass it on up the chain so someone can take ownership. Will post again if anything happens.

I have also emailled BBC but don’t expect reply from them til Monday at the earliest.

I have sent a photo to this site showing ‘2nd Edition’ on the J-card so no doubt it will be uploaded by BooBoo later for everyone to see.

    Thanks.
