February 9th, 2020 - 11:18amI came up with an idea to solve the problem of which doctor to represent on the box of season 4. I would put Troughton holding the mirror with the Hartnell reflection that appears in Power of the daleks.

February 8th, 2020 - 8:52pmDo we have an idea of when the next one of these will be revealed? Craving another announcement
Anonymous
February 8th, 2020 - 9:16pmWell if season 14 is out in April, but account for a possible delay to may, an announcement of another box set (possibly season 20) could either be late march/early April or may (depending if season 14 is released on time)
Gordon
February 8th, 2020 - 9:35pmProbably april time. Just before season 14 comes out

February 8th, 2020 - 10:39amZoom says queuing on order status, is that good?
Gordon
February 8th, 2020 - 11:09amThat’s normal. My faceless ones order says the same
Anonymous
February 9th, 2020 - 2:34pmAhh right , thanks

February 7th, 2020 - 6:04pmThere is a poster on the DWAS facebook page, that is claiming it will be in a standard bluray case, I have seen no evidence on any of the links so far that this is the case or is he just stirring the pot
Anonymous
February 7th, 2020 - 6:17pmIt’s the UK limited edition set so will be exactly the same as the first set in every instance except for the replaced discs that were faulty on the original release
dazzleshell
February 7th, 2020 - 6:48pmHe’s just stirring the pot to get a reaction.
I read his comments too on facebook.
It is definitely the same as the original UK release.
booboo
February 7th, 2020 - 6:50pmclick bait, whatever is one here ( this site ) is how it is
NX-74205
February 7th, 2020 - 7:41pmI thought as much, was me that reacted to him. You would think fans would be there to help each other out. Just irks me when someone thinks they no better. Thank you for all your help. I have all sets apart from 12 so am happy to complete the collection
Chris
February 7th, 2020 - 9:48amCould someone please tell me what season was Pyramid of Mars? I think it was around 1975? Tom Baker and Liz Sladen. That’s the story I’m waiting for. Hammer house of horror stuff

February 7th, 2020 - 9:58amSeason 13
Ian Cotterill
February 6th, 2020 - 11:23pmSo with the re-release of Season 12 and the upcoming release of Season 14, does anyone have a particular season they’d like to released next in the Collection blu-rays? My first choices would be season 11, with cgi effects for ‘Invasion of the Dinosaurs’, and season 25, with the extended version of ‘Silver Nemesis’.
Kieran
February 6th, 2020 - 11:40pmPersonally would like season 20 I missed season 12 box set (pre ordered now thank god) because I didn’t know about the sets until it was too late I got season 19 which makes the 5th doctor my first classic doctor and first classic season I’ve ever watched and I would like to continue to see what happens to Tegan (don’t want to watch online or see spoilers want to wait for the box set and it’s my first experience with classic who) but yeah season 20 would be my go to for a next box set
philip Shaw
February 7th, 2020 - 8:44amIt would certainly be a sin if they don’t offer cgi dinosaurs on this release as they don’t appear that much. Just replacing the T rex would be good…
Gordon
February 7th, 2020 - 9:21amGetting episode 1 into the best possible colour is probably a bigger priority. That won’t be cheap. Doubt the budget would stretch to both. There is over 100 shots that would need replacing with cgi. Not sure if the budget would stretch that far.
Regarding what sets I want to see next. Any seasons that have stories that don’t have making ofs
Anonymous
February 8th, 2020 - 4:06pmYes, but it would be criminal not to colourise and cg the episode. This is the last and definitive time the stories are ever gonna get collectors edition. I know I am complaining but honestly after a wasted dvd release this is the final chance they have to make this episode. I won’t be happy if they don’t.
philip shaw
February 10th, 2020 - 12:48pmThey managed a colourised episode and effects extra planet of the daleks…
Anonymous
February 10th, 2020 - 3:30pmPlanet of the Daleks was already in decent shape though, Invasion is not.
MIKSK89
February 11th, 2020 - 4:19amPlus “Planet of the Daleks” Re-colouring wasn’t done exclusively for the Blu-Ray, only the cgi was done for the Collection’s 10th Season, it was already re-colourised for the ‘Dalek War’ DVD boxset of that story and Frontier in Space back in 2009.
“Invasion of the Dinosaurs” was given a partial Re-colouring (though it was rushed and was very poor quality) for the 2012 ‘U.N.I.T. Files’ and it wasnt even the part of the overall story, it was released as an extra as more a taster to show the progress they had made.
Gordon
February 11th, 2020 - 7:14amPlanet of the Daleks and invasion of the dinosaurs aren’t really comparable. For starters episode 3 of Daleks is the best colour recovered episode and dinos 1 is by far the worst. It’s going to need a lot more time and money thrown at it. Secondly the effects in Daleks was far more easier and cheaper to do than it would be for dinosaurs and it’s way less than half the shots that dinos would require. Plus there are a fair few shots where the dinos interact with humans but the effects in Daleks didn’t. The cost of doing dinos was quoted as 6 times the budget of a normal dvd release a few years back. I’m not sure it’s doable
GallifreyanKnight
February 6th, 2020 - 11:01pmI hope that this reissue has the corrected discs as standard.
Gordon
February 6th, 2020 - 11:05pmIt will be the fixed discs. Doctor who online confirmed it
Doug Who
February 8th, 2020 - 11:18amI was wondering if there is confirmation anywhere that this is the second fix as it were done for the US release that sorted the missing CGI shot?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Bushboy
February 6th, 2020 - 9:59pmWill this have another release in Australia? And if so, will it be in its original packaging or the new style introduced from the Season 18 release onwards?
Antonio Zambonini
February 6th, 2020 - 7:44pmThat is ultra weird why someone on eBay has listed this for 2,500 odd and saying too buy on the sites and not eBay at random what’s the point
Ricky
February 6th, 2020 - 8:41pmI imagine to help any buyers paying horrendous amounts such as £300 plus. Someone’s just thinking of the whovians out there !
Ricky
February 6th, 2020 - 9:21pmI have to say that ad is a good idea, made me chuckle when I saw it.
Antonio Zambonini
February 6th, 2020 - 9:54pmOr more like too get the other people desperate for it too buy it but seller is gonna have luck paying fees on listening it completely
Ricky
February 6th, 2020 - 10:09pmHave I missed something ?
The listing is to help and inform fans to not buy the expensive units from eBay and to inform them it’s available for around £40.
Zakman
February 6th, 2020 - 6:58pmeBay has collections 10, 18, 19 and 23 as a bundle for £450.

February 6th, 2020 - 4:48pmI just want to thank everyone on here, in particular booboo, who gave information and advice on this. Thanks to you I managed to get my order. I really appreciate it. Just shows you that Dr Who fans are usually very decent and considerate souls.

February 6th, 2020 - 4:28pmHi everyone.
Quick question for those who have had previous Seasons delivered by Amazon.
What sort of packaging do they use and has anyone had theirs arrive dinted/corners creased/damaged.
I usually order from Zoom but as I had a few vouchers have gone to Amazon.
Thanks in advance
timelord1944
February 6th, 2020 - 4:45pmI have had that issue with these sets whoever I order from. Zavvi are usually the worst for packaging. Zoom and amazon are usually pretty good but I have had some issues with both. Zoom did offer a partial refund last time it happened but I would have preferred a non damaged box. Since complaining later boxes have been received in better packaging. Amazon are usually on a par with zoom in my experience.
Rob W
February 6th, 2020 - 8:31pmAmazon usually use a cardboard type package which has been designed to be easily opened and (so far) I’ve not experienced any damaged items whatsover.
dazzleshell
February 6th, 2020 - 8:41pmThanks for the replies. I’ll stick with Amazon for this one. And Zoom for the rest as normal.
MudkipDan
February 6th, 2020 - 11:18pmInteresting. I got my Doctor Who Season 26 from Amazon delivered….. in a jiffy bag. Luckily only had mild scuffs around edges. Will be staying clear of Amazon.
I trust HMV are ok? Pre ordered Season 12 and upcoming Season 14 in heartbeat after I Found out.
Rob W
February 7th, 2020 - 8:57amOne of those Jiffy bags with the easy yo tear opening? I’d leave Amazon feedback about the packaging as the cardboard can be easily recycled.
MudkipDan
February 7th, 2020 - 2:13pm@Rob W, Yes that’s the one. Didn’t leave Amazon feedback, as this is an ongoing problem and had complained before. I only started using them again fully, 2 years after they kept sending me badly damaged parcels parcels.
Jon
February 7th, 2020 - 6:26pmI have had to get all but one set replaced by Amazon due to them being sent in a bubble wrap envelope. It’s been a complete joke.
Rob W
February 8th, 2020 - 2:35pmThanks for the responses folks. I prefer the cardboard packaging so I’ll definatly be requesting a replacement should my order be damaged.
Negative Matter
February 6th, 2020 - 3:59pmMade the mistake of not buying it before. Went for Zoom zaavi were charging postage. Zoom aren’t. Just hope when I eventually get a blu ray player the difference in quality from dvd makes it worth while.
Rob W
February 6th, 2020 - 4:43pmThe video restoration on each episode takes about 2 days according to the article in DWM Special Edition #54. I think it’s very good but you may not agree.
Negative Matter
February 6th, 2020 - 6:11pmFingers crossed Blu-Ray will be the fourth format, dvd was an improvement on VHS so fingers crossed.
Doug Who
February 6th, 2020 - 11:26amI just received a pre-order notification email from Zoom for season 12 so hopefully everyone who want it will be able to get their copy.
Good luck!
Harry
February 6th, 2020 - 11:15amCan’t wait for this also hope they sorted the problems they had on first release
The Ergon
February 6th, 2020 - 11:54amThankyou, thats what i wanted to know.
CharlieMars
February 6th, 2020 - 11:08amJust preordered on Amazon. It’s the first part of ‘the collection’ I’ve bought. Will definitely pick up the others now but I will never be able to afford Seasons 19, 18 and 10 so I really hope we get rereleases of them too. But I’m guessing that’s unlikely?
Ricky
February 6th, 2020 - 11:16amI’m certain the others won’t be re issued as they are also limited edition packaging , but they were printed in larger numbers , season 12 was a kind of test the water set, they underestimated how well they would sell, after this sold out fast they upped the number on future collections.
All they have done here is match the number of units to the other releases to even it out.
But these are limited editions and when they are gone they are gone.
What this reissue will do is stabilise the value of season 12 on eBay and bring the asking prices down to around the other sets.
Antonio Zambonini
February 6th, 2020 - 12:07pmOnly best way is cex I was the same and thought it was only best idea especially too sell unwanted stuff but ebay can sometimes be good and reasonable for sealed ones but recently thought it was a joke to series one steelbook which is hardest going at the moment
Richard Fisher
February 6th, 2020 - 1:53pmHi Charlie. Argos is showing Season 10 for £40 but there is VERY limited stock. Worth a try though.
Antonio Zambonini
February 6th, 2020 - 3:34pmWouldn’t bother Argos don’t have it as everytime I first tryed too but it it says collection only and then out of stock they still ain’t removed it
Andrew Townsend
February 6th, 2020 - 6:23pmRicky

Ricky
February 6th, 2020 - 9:24pmThanks Andrew, I do have them all myself now , it was charliemars who asked about reissues etc.

February 6th, 2020 - 7:33amWell what an absolute mess. If I can’t get hold of a re-release, i’m flogging the other sets. Doing my head in…
booboo
February 6th, 2020 - 7:38amit was put up prematurely, everyone will have it again soon.
Garry
February 6th, 2020 - 7:53amAbsolutely, I’ve been waiting ages for this to be re-released. No doubt all those of us who are at work when it goes back on sale will miss out while all those greedy, selfish people buying multiple copies to line their own pockets on ebay will make an absolute killing again.
Antonio Zambonini
February 6th, 2020 - 4:39amJust checked on zavvi via blu ray.com and they had it but again sold out but must surely stock coming back in today
The Ergon
February 5th, 2020 - 11:38pmIs the link to Zoom via EBay genuine? I think it odd that this site on there keeps taking it on and off even though it was up on there regular store for a short time. There is still 10 available only there, unless thats the only way they could get early sales in.
Ricky
February 5th, 2020 - 11:59pmThe legal credentials on the linked eBay store all check out against their main website , company address, trade business number etc etc all match up so its legit.
The Ergon
February 6th, 2020 - 12:20amThanks. Apologies for sounding alarmist. I did get a query Email from the EBay site but they didn,t respond to my reply and their online site suddenly went up but questioned it with it going offline again. Its the first time i,ve known Zoom to do this. However Its reassuring to know there are people on this site who have your back and share genuine information, its always been good for that.
Andrew Townsend
February 6th, 2020 - 12:45amYes it is genuine.i have used it for every previous season off them on there.it is a remarkable service and super quick.my advice is do it on eBay.and you save the postage too as it is free.i will be giving it a 10 out of 10 for the service that you get. Be quick and order it.You’ll be glad all over that you did.And no… I do not work for zoom either. Am just a doctor who nut.
Ricky
February 6th, 2020 - 11:26amYour welcome ergon, and I agree this site is superb, any trolls are sorted out very quickly so well done to the mod.
Scott Carrick
February 5th, 2020 - 11:04pmJust checked Zoom no sign of it?

February 6th, 2020 - 12:42amHi Scott, they sold it via their eBay store.
According to the listing it’s gone already but might be worth checking again later.

February 5th, 2020 - 10:19pmI’ve contacted Amazon and they have said it will be with me on the 2nd of march
