These shirts just don’t do it for me. I think the reference too subtle for the vast majority of people so it would just be an odd t-shirt to most.

Quite a nice t-shirt design. Better than the last two.

I think it would be better if they put the robot face on it instead of that crest

This one looks better, at least people would get the reference and if they don’t, it still looks OK.
The episode itself was good, I enjoyed the humour though it began to wear off after a while.
I didn’t understand why they would offer a golden arrow as a prize if they needed it ❓
The story also confused you about Capaldi’s Doctor, after the whole darkness thing previously, here he was more like Smith so not very consistent.
So just like most Gatiss stories – meh.

The man who gave the prize (the golden arrow) was not a robot. This is why the Sheriff took part in the competition, he needed the arrow for the Robots’ ship. This is also why the man who gave the golden arrow to Robin didn’t hesitate on doing so. Hope this helps 🙂

I think it was the sheriff of Nottingham’s crest in the episode?

Seems like a spoiler if Robin Hood turns out to be a robot.

“Robot Hood” is that supposed to be a pun based on the monsters (Robots) and Robin Hood? 😆

Considering the title “Robot of Sherwood” is derived from “Robin of Sherwood” I think the pun is certainly intended.

      no all a legend

infact i was at Sherwood forest not so long ago, the oak tree is spectacular, well worth a day out if you have not been

    • the astronaut of death

      August 14th, 2014 - 12:21pm

Cool I might go one day

I just thought doctor who was suppose to be historicly correct

    • Sam Richard Bentley

      August 14th, 2014 - 12:22pm

Well, it is questioned, isn’t it? The man, Robin Hood, was not real – but there is speculation over whether there was a man, or possibly woman, at the time who stole from the rich to give to the poor – hence beginning the legend.

It’s the same with Sherlock Holmes – did Conan Doyle create Holmes? Or was he based on a real life person? They’re questions that probably will never be answered.

    • booboo

      August 14th, 2014 - 12:25pm

it may not be real, but the legend has become legend

lets face it where would the tourist industry be if we really knew the Lochness monster did not exists, of that Robin Hood was just made up

I like to think there is always something behind it all

Well back in thoes days there would have been quite a lot of characters like robin hood

And if Sherlock homes was real I imagine we would know as no detective can be that good

    • Sam Richard Bentley

      August 14th, 2014 - 12:27pm

Oh, yes – I always like to think that behind every character, or legend or myth, there was some truth. Whether it be the exact same person with a different name, or someone similar in many ways.

      August 14th, 2014 - 12:31pm

Also – ‘I just thought doctor who was suppose to be historically correct?’

It’s a science-fiction show! They can do whatever they please with time and space and the laws of physics! Which is quite nice, really.

      August 14th, 2014 - 12:56pm

Yes but the science and space part of the show could be anything

But when doing time travel it should be correct

Mabey at the end of the episode robin hood will end up being an alien or something I’m sure mark will have something up his sleeve

Well… we shall have to see… We have seen Atlantis, minotaurs and the trojan horse before… we have also seen alternative and virtual versions of Earth.

Who has also tackled King Arthur and Merlin and that’s all myth. Personally I’d love a Sherlock/Doctor team up. Where would you place that??

    • StetsonDoctor

      August 14th, 2014 - 2:03pm

To be perfectly honest, most nu-who historical a feature myth or legend that usually gets revealed to be as a consequence of aliens.

-Queen Victoria and the wolf bite
      -Shakespeare’s lost play
      -Pompeii
      -Agatha Christie’s disappearance
-Bowie Base One destruction (kind of)
      -Van Gogh’s influences
      -What the Siren really was
      -Witch of the well (ghosts)

To name a few. It normally makes for an interesting story…

      “Historically correct?”

If Doctor Who was historically correct the show would be pretty dull… take for example the invasion of st pauls in the 60s or the invasion of the world in 2008, or the slow invasion in 2012… they are both historical events now that never happened….

    • Trenzalore

      August 15th, 2014 - 11:12pm

You could argue that Doctor Who was originally an educational show (of sorts) but this was mainly in the classic era, now historical stories are partly correct but featuring some alien twist.

Well I just actually read the previews of the episodes in this weeks radio times

And it says on of the main factors of this episode is the doctor arguing robin hood is not real
