Apparently there is talks and rumours circulating on YouTube that Paul McGann might be returning as the Doctor in the 2026 Christmas Special along with former companions Amy and Rory but they were killed off in Series 7 by the Weeping Angels or perhaps transferred to another universe. But it could be a multiple of Doctors returning on YouTube. Tom Baker has been mentionedmmm I would love to see Tom Baker again in his original costume with his hat and scarf. Paul McGann he would be amazing to see him I felt he was cheated out of the role as the 8th Doctor because of the American pilot failed TV Movie so might be good to see him back. But all this is all just hear say if you ask me just rumours nothing been officially announced that this and that is happening.

Never heard such bobbins. Tom is retired.

Paul McGann has cancelled his convention appearances as he’s filming the new Luther film for Netflix from February.

Karen Gillan is filming Jumanji 4 but will be teaming up with Arthur Darvill on a DW related podcast.

As above Tom Baker has retired.

Fyi. Billie Piper is filming Wednesday S3 from March so she’ll be either filming something for DW before or afterwards .

Are people serious about wanting to back… He’s 91 now just let him be retired there is no way he could play the doctor on TV again. I love him but it would be ridiculous

Well all this garbage is on YouTube but some of the titles can be misleading. Check them out for yourselves. Tom could do a cameo appearance seemingly it is going to be multiple Doctor’s appearing in the Special. Just because he’s 91 years young doesn’t mean he can’t do something if he wanted to. Just look at William Roach who plays Ken from.coffee he’s 95 or something he’s still going the only original one left so I hear from old folk.

But my bet is on a possibility that it could well be David Tennant again with Billie Piper I’m just going on the cliffhanger teasing regeneration into Billie Piper. And the Daleks are ment to be coming back for the Special and Rose is Bad Wolf when she observed the vortex from the TARDIS. And maybe even Cathrine Tate as Donna Noble as the Tennant Doctor and Donna were left on Earth. So that is the only link I can think of as Billie Piper is likely to.be in the Special.

If tennant is back again then I’m finished with who, I’ll not watch it.

Any other subscribers not received this issue yet? This is the latest I’ve waited to receive an issue, but guessing it could be due to Royal Mail prioritising parcel delieveries as well

My subscriber copy came on Friday of last week, together with the Special Edition. A little later than usual. Our postal deliveries have got less and less frequent. It was really bad a few years back and I, along with an elderly neighbour, had to get our MP involved to intervene as we were one of the ‘postal deserts’. From what I have gleaned recently in my area 1st class post, tracked post and parcels are being prioritised…

Never understood the obsession with Marco polo, I’ve always found it so dull.

    • Gustave Lytton

      November 10th, 2025 - 10:10pm

I think the jury’s still out on that one…..

It’s not as exciting as The Massacre, or as funny as the Myth Makers….
And it’s almost twice as long…

And let’s face it, nothing really happens….they play chess games…..!
      Tell stories…..!

And it’s rather irritating that, for almost all the story, Marco Polo constantly believes everything the Bad Guy tells him, rather than the Doctor and his companions……

Yeah there is a interesting article on the Film is Fabulous about the missing episodes. We just have to be patient and wait to see what’s been found they seem.quite confident that there are missing clips or episodes have been found. Now they are not saying how many they are it would be a miracle if they found all of them but a doubt it. But it does seem likely that the current 97 missing episodes will be coming down even if it’s one or two. Again it would be great if they found episodes to complete a story like the Enemy Of The World was in 2013 and nearly all of The Web Of Fear. The Crusade Episodes 2, & 4 they would be great as then it would complete the 1st Doctor’s 2nd Season that would be great to see those back. But we will just have to wait and see let them get on with their work leave them be until they announce what has been found.

I’m assuming the Film Is Fabulous feature won’t have anything that we haven’t already read online, but it’s an exciting time nonetheless. I find these issues focussing on the older years much more interesting than the current ones—although having said that the Jodie interview only made me love her more.

Interview was done before the collector died. It will be months away now due to probate. Cod take 6-24 months for probate to complete even if it’s a short period they have to catalogue the collection, passion the relavent films which then need cleaned, fixed etc even assuming they are in a fixable condition.

Not ruining the mood, just trying to inject some reality… I don’t care which episode has been found or how bad a condition it’s in. I’ll take anything to add it to the collection. I think if the quality is bad I would still want it released in the best condition they can manage.

      November 8th, 2025 - 1:08pm

      Autocorrect is a pain… Here’s what I meant to say… (expanded slightly)

Interview was done before the collector died. It will be months away now due to probate. It could take 6-24 months for probate to complete depending on the complexity of the estate, even if it’s a short period of time they have to catalogue the collection, pass on the relevant films which then need cleaned, fixed etc and that’s even assuming the films are in a fixable condition which is not guaranteed.

Wouldn’t expect anything on the 23rd.

Tim from the missing eps podcast:

“There won’t be anything in the next few weeks including 23rd November, which remains irrelevant“

Considering he interviewed FIF I would think he would know if it there was. When he means irrelevant he means they work to their own timetable not a “doctor who day” timetable
