How are they going to produce a full list? There’s episodes that haven’t even been written yet, never mind broadcast that will be out and need figures as well by issue 120.

The specials look great, especially looking forward to Yeti, Azal and Wiirn.

I am also pleased about the other thing because I’m glad they will not force subscribers to buy companions or repeat Doctors if they don’t want them.

I wonder if the Doctor/Companions thing will be anything to do with the five doctors figures they’ve talked about?

No this will be completely different.

If they do The Five Doctors figures I could see it being a separate side set (possibly 1:1 scale authentic replicas).

Companions! Yes!!! Now we’re talking! Hope we get these packs.

    1st and Susan
    2nd and Jamie
    3rd and Jo
    4th and Sarah Jane
    5th and Regan
    6th and Peri
    7th and Ace
    8th and Grace
    9th and Rose
10th and Martha/ or Donna (how will they chose? )
    11th and Amy
    12th and Clara.

They would be better off just doing companions twin sets or individually.

    Amy and Rory
    Rose and Jack
    Barbera and Ian
    Sarah and Harry etc

Probably the most popular companions of each era (yet again, don’t collect this range so I could be wrong). So most of your list seems correct (for 10 it would probably be Donna as she is far more popular), though I don’t know if they will do a Mcgann one, as they might not be able to get the rights for Grace (maybe they could do an Audio companion?). Part of me also wonders if they will do more than 1 of these packs for each Doctor if they sell well.

They may not have to choose all depends on how well it does.

Putting a Doctor in is definitely sensible. While it slows down the rate we get companions at compared to a twin set of companions it increases the interest (as more people will want Doctors than companions) and so with a more profitable range more figures can be released.

It’s about time they finally started doing companions! Really don’t understand why they’ve neglected them and refused to acknowledge their importance in Doctor Who all this time. And to see them coupled with different Doctor costumes/poses is really great.

To be honest the “human” figures are the weakest when it comes to any die cast figurine scupt becuase of the lack of facial detail – I understand why they have focused more on monsters – the figurines look better. That said,, I agree these double packs are an exciting prospect. Even if we just get a decent 11th Doctor – the poorest figurine yet both in terms of detail and the very specific pose.

its also a minefield, assuming one companion per Doctor how do you decide?

your never going to keep everyone happy on this

To be perfectly honest, they only captured a decent likeness for about half of the Doctors, but they still made all of them anyway. The thing with figurines of this size, is that we look at them from a distance rather than close-up, so we’re only really looking at the costume, which they’ve managed to more or less nail every time. So facial likeness-wise, it’s not a total failure if they don’t get it right, so long as it loosely resembles the character’s face. It’s only really the costume they need to get right.

In response to booboo’s point, it’s not a given that they have to stick to one companion per Doctor. It could start out that way for the initial 12, but then expand it after those have finished. Of course they’re never going to keep everybody happy, but some companions are more iconic and sought after than others. For example, it would be a much safer choice to initially pair the Second Doctor with Jamie, than the Second Doctor with Victoria. Likewise, it would be safer to pair the Tenth Doctor with Donna than the Tenth Doctor with Martha (personally I would rather take Martha, but I acknowledge that Donna is more popular).

they could easily mix and match doctors different outfits with a different companion surely?

Any news on how they are going to manage the Sub only Daleks now the collection has gone beyond its orginal number. We are now paying extra money but have not been told what they plan to do…they owe us.

they have said there will be more rare Daleks

Yes, they’ve revealed this via Twitter and their FB page. Rare Dakeks are continuing, same rate of one every 10 issues. The next 2 are both from the Second Doctor era (# 8 = the so-called ‘Wilkie Dalek’ from Evil of the Daleks, # 9 = the Embryo Technician Dalek from Power of the Daleks), and they’ve said # 10 might be the one from the Death Zone in The Five Doctors.
