Doctor Who Constable Zreeg and Sergeant Zogroth Wrarth Warrior Set
Available to order from www.character-online.com
Character Options gives Doctor Who fans yet more to celebrate with its new Wrarth Warrior Twin Set Exclusive
Fans marked Doctor Who Day on 23rd November, but celebrations will continue this week with the release of the final ‘Vortex’ set for 2025, from Character Options and BBC Studios. The Wrarth Warriors Constable Zreeg & Sergeant Zogroth will be making their debut as part of an online exclusive set that’s available to purchase today, 25th November 2025, solely through www.character-online.com.
The Wrarth Warrior Set
This “Vortex” set includes Wrarth Warrior figures of the two most identifiable Wrarth, Constable Zreeg and Sergeant Zogroth. Standing at 18.6cm tall, The Wrarth are around 50mm taller than the standard Doctor Who action figures. Each imposing Wrarth has multiple articulation points, a display stand, detachable blaster weapon accessory and ‘light pipe’ eyes. The two characters are distinguished by unique paint detailing and their individualised carapace front.
With an armoured exoskeleton, astounding visual capabilities and a keen intelligence, the Wrarth are a biologically engineered species created by the Star Council as part of an intergalactic Police Force to hunt The Meep. This species originated from the 1980 Doctor Who Comic, as characters from ‘The Star Beast’ story written by Pat Mills and John Wagner and drawn by Dave Gibbons. The Wrarth are the quintessential Doctor Who ‘bug-eyed monster’ with the clever twist – that they are totally benevolent.

About the episode – The Star Beast (2023)
The Fourteenth Doctor suspects his fate has been tampered with. He lands the TARDIS in London and bumps into former companion Donna Noble and her daughter Rose. After witnessing a spaceship appear to crash nearby, The Doctor investigates and finds the ship landed intact, UNIT troops acting strangely, and an escape pod occupant traced to Donna’s home. There, Rose meets a seemingly innocent harmless alien called the Meep, who claims to be fleeing “monsters.” Soon after, Wrarth Warriors arrive, having tracked the Meep to Earth in the 21st Century.
Siding with the Meep, The Doctor helps it evade capture. However, upon intercepting a Wrarth teleport, he wants to hear both sides and brings in Constable Zreeg and Seargent Zogroth. The truth emerges, the Meep is a genocidal tyrant, but after explaining why they are pursuing it, the Meep guns the Wrarth down. Although initially perceived as monsters, it’s hard not to feel sympathy for these champions for justice. The Meep has no remorse and is intent on escaping Earth, threatening to destroy London in the process. The Doctor devises a plan to stop it, restoring Donna’s memories so they can disable the ship’s drive. The Meep is captured, but not before delivering a cryptic warning to the Doctor.
“Fantastic … just fantastic!”
Al Dewar, Creative Director at Character Options, said: “I first encountered the Wrarth in a comic my mum bought for me way, way back in 1980, so when I saw these characters on screen, it brought back a lot of very fond memories. The modern interpretation of the Wrarth was brilliant – they are a very imposing alien and hugely top heavy as action figures (thus the need for the stand). So recreating them in figure form was not only a lot of fun but it was also really nostalgic. You just can’t help but smile when you see these guys towering over the standard figures and then dissolve into giggles when seeing them next to the Meep! And we finally got some ‘light pipe’ eyes in there, albeit limited by the size of the head … Fantastic … just fantastic!”
This new set is on sale now through www.character-online.co.uk and costs £44.99. Each online exclusive release has unique features not to be seen on retail versions and with a limited amount available, this set is certainly one not to be missed!

November 25th, 2025 - 3:18pmThese look amazing! It’s been a while since we’ve had new series Villains that would make good figures, and they’ll fit in well with a classic collection, I think I’m going to put together a custom comic 4th Doctor to go with these and the meep.
My main issue is it looks like the legs don’t have any joints which really brings the whole figure down, every photo they look so awkward!
bryan
November 25th, 2025 - 3:54pmThere are “Awkward” that’s hoe they looked on s reen. Not all aliens fit out Aesthetic.
If you look (zoom in to pic) on the green sections of the legs, you can see the joints on the legs.
It does say multiple joint on the back of pack on the CO website.

November 25th, 2025 - 3:08pmLovely set. I would never have believed we would ever see these characters. Although not accurate to the comics, I’ll consider getting another set of these and the Meep to pair with the fourth Doctor.
If you are of a certain age – as Al Dewar clearly is – then this was one of the most iconic Marvel stories and made a big impression on young fans back in the day.
There is apparently one more Vortex series coming (next year), and then does that mean the Vortex line is finished? If so it’s a shame as I’ve liked the sets released so far.
War Chief.
November 25th, 2025 - 3:00pmParaphrase Genesis of the Daleks…..
It was (much) less than I’d hoped for…

November 25th, 2025 - 2:14pmOrdered. Fantastic. I bet these are so much more complicated than many other figures. Extra joints for one, extra height, extra pant App. And Balance, hence the stands.
They look amazing . Now we need Sharon and Fudge for the complete set.

November 25th, 2025 - 1:41pmWhile this release is not my cup of tea, it’s always nice to see new molds for Doctor Who figures come out of Character Options!

November 25th, 2025 - 1:36pmAm out because they don’t accept PayPal anymore conceding ave been a customer for a number of years and always used that method of payment. These prices are too high where with PayPal could pay in 3 monthly payments. But they have stopped taking PayPal for some reason.
davidhhh
November 25th, 2025 - 1:24pmI hate when they just give us basically two of the same figure, but at inflated prices. I’d have bought it if it was a Wrarth and the Meep.
Loobop
November 25th, 2025 - 12:59pmi remember their prototype being photograhed by some fan back when the 15th doctor figure and ruby sunday figure was shown at some comic con that was some years ago.

November 25th, 2025 - 12:58pmThink I’ll pass on these to be honest.

November 25th, 2025 - 12:44pmJudooning…..

November 25th, 2025 - 12:16pmThese look good but wouldn’t go mad on them in my opinion it would off been amazing more too get toymaker with Donna or even Mel for once

November 25th, 2025 - 12:13pmI’ve been worried about my budget knowing there was another set to come before Xmas, but now I can relax.
Couldn’t be less interested in anything to do with the 14th Doctor, didn’t buy the set with the Meep, so obviously have no interest whatsoever in this.
Would much rather have classic companions we’ve not gotten yet, like Jamie or Teagan,or Susan or Barbara. Some more Cyberman variants would be good too, whether classic or new. A Dhawan Master, or Mr Razor Master, or so many other things.
Dave
November 25th, 2025 - 3:18pmThis is why a Doctor Who brand can’t win. The sale they’ve lost with you is one they’ve gained with me as I’m delighted to see yet another of Doctor Who’s weird and wonderful creatures on the shelves. It feels like there’s been a cavalcade of dull humanoid toys in recent years, barring the Daleks of course, so I’m really pleased to see the range fleshed out with interestingly-designed monsters. While I get the passion for more companions, they are boring figures and the range really should embrace both if it possibly can.

November 25th, 2025 - 11:33amSigh…
2 years late… and now from an era the majority don’t care about! Do they look good?… yes! Will I be buying… no
Really strange choice for a brand new tooling also I’m sure more people would’ve preferred a Donna or toymaker but heyho some people will probably buy multiple sets and I suppose that’s the idea behind it!
Jamie next year Character? Please?

November 25th, 2025 - 11:58am100% favour these over another human based character.

November 25th, 2025 - 12:03pmQuite….!
In the Infinite universe of Dr Who, out of four figure sets they release this year, two are from the same story…..
And not a particularly popular story….
Rory, the original you might say
November 25th, 2025 - 12:08pmTo be fair, they were introduced in the comic strip, so will appeal to fans of both the comic and the episode.

November 25th, 2025 - 11:31amOrdered. Fantastic set.

November 25th, 2025 - 11:20amGlad these figures come with stands my first thought looking at them was they will be a nightmare to position on the Shelf.

November 25th, 2025 - 11:18amFantastic!

November 25th, 2025 - 11:18amAm really pleased that these figures are getting released. After photos of the prototype, along with 15th and Ruby, at the London Toy Fair 2024 appearing and then not being released I was disappointed. I love this story both in TV and comic form and to finally get some more Doctor Who monsters rather than Doctors or other humanoid figures is great. They look really good. If the fifth Vortex release is Donna and The Toymaker then I feel the 60th anniversary stories will have been served very well. However, I do realise that it is more likely to be from the Classic series. But what it is …we shall have to wait until next year to find out….For now am a happy Doctor Who action figure collector. : )

November 25th, 2025 - 11:43amDon’t hold out for a new Donna figure — Catherine Tate is notoriously against her likeness being used for merchandise
MJS
November 25th, 2025 - 11:18amWhat’s light pipe eyes???
Rory, the original you might say
November 25th, 2025 - 12:05pmTransparent plastic that goes to the back of the head so when there’s a light source behind the figure the eyes appear to glow.
Jackson Lake
November 25th, 2025 - 3:42pmReminds me of Lego BIONICLE from back in the day, the Toa’s eyes would glow when you held them up to the light.

November 25th, 2025 - 11:15amI have ordered my one

November 25th, 2025 - 11:13amIt’s wishful thinking, but I would Love it if they made a Mr. Ring-A-Ding/Lux action figure/plushie. They’d be brilliant.
Gustave Lytton
November 25th, 2025 - 10:43amAll the things it could have been, I meant……
Why not, for example, the Toymaker that David Tennant faced…..?
But there’s probably copyright stuff that I don’t know about.

November 25th, 2025 - 10:28amLooks like you can’t pay with PayPal like you use it.

November 25th, 2025 - 10:25amJust ordered mine cant wait to add them to my collection

November 25th, 2025 - 10:25am‘The two characters are distinguished by unique paint detailing and their individualised carapace front.’ – I thought the Wrarth all looked the same. Does anyone know what, if anything, differentiates the Constable and the Sergeant from the basic warrior? Cheers.
Jamie
November 25th, 2025 - 10:40amThere are slightly different details on the front of the chest. It’s quite subtle.
Matt Y
November 25th, 2025 - 10:46amThank you Jamie. Went and had a closer look and you are right – it’s very subtle and does match the onscreen characters. Am thinking for army building it’s not anything massively different from a basic warrior.
Jamie
November 25th, 2025 - 10:20amAbsolutely beautiful!
Nic Saunders
November 25th, 2025 - 10:12amFantastic! Loved these guys since they first appeared in the 1980’s comic and to have action figures all these years later. Great. A brilliant release to end the year and no B&M hunt needed!!
Gustave Lytton
November 25th, 2025 - 10:08amAnother dud…..
What is their obsession with that Meep story…..?
What next, a Donna or Rose as figure number five…..?
DanWFA
November 25th, 2025 - 10:11amExactly how is it a dud?
It (by the looks of things) a complete new sculpt. Fans have been yearning for new figures, especially monsters for years. The Meep was a total surprise but we’ve always known there’s a prototype Wrath Warrior out there.
