January 2nd, 2016 - 8:29amI’ve had trouble ordering this over the past few days. Dunno if it’s the same problem other BBC sites have had or my internet, which has been a bit tricky. I had another go late last night & just managed to put my order through for the new year bonus discount with minutes to midnight. It wasn’t easy but I got there.
I don’t think the price is much higher than last series. I was quoted in the region of £55 in a shop for them to order s8. I decided to look online & found not only the BBC shop, but their exclusive for around £20 less. No exclusive this year, but their price is lower on that site, especially when one uses discount codes.
I’m not usually one for listening to every commentary, but I think Sleep No More will be essential along with the Extra – just to figure out what the hell it’s about & what they were thinking.
Lots of content, including the Doctor’s meditation, that I haven’t seen. Roll on 7th March ( or soonest date thereafter ).

December 26th, 2015 - 3:29amGlad they included the Christmas specials. That was my main issue with the Series 8 pack they put out!
STAXTHEDRESTROYER

December 22nd, 2015 - 3:54pmHopefully they might do another digi book blu Ray like they did with season 7. It would be nice to see a special edition for season 9

December 21st, 2015 - 8:17pmJust preordered and paid, yes. Can skip, sleep no more and this year’s christmas special, once will be enough with River. Adore 12 though.
Nicholas
December 23rd, 2015 - 11:17amYou haven’t seen the special. Why pre judge?
Al
December 21st, 2015 - 1:33pmI hope this is the same set we’re getting in North America. And they better keep the same cover image too: I’m not planning to buy the Part 1/Part 2 sets anyway but I was very disappointed they chose non-Jenna images for the Region 1 releases. I didn’t expect both Christmas specials, which will be a bonus. It’s a shame it doesn’t look like a gag reel will be included (though the raven blooper I’m sure will be as part of the online stuff) but I’m intrigued by the deleted scenes.being included.
Bigwhofan
December 21st, 2015 - 2:49pmYou could say the online thing IS the gag reel??
2doctors2000
December 21st, 2015 - 1:21pmI wish they produced the boxsets in the same style as the 2014 re-releases….
I really liked the consistency of the timeless logo etc.
Alfie cook
December 21st, 2015 - 3:50pmIt says artwork tbc hope it is in the style of the part 1 and 2 seriesn9 or the series 8 boxset
2doctors2000
December 21st, 2015 - 4:22pmBut it still isn’t going to be consistent with the 2014 rerelease with the classic logo and the grey style top border thing
Nicholas
December 23rd, 2015 - 11:19amI don’t think they are allowed to put the classic logo on current series (2014 – ). The only way they could is if the BBC change the show’s logo to that classic one (which I think they should cause I’d like to have a uniform collection)
12th Doctor Fan
December 24th, 2015 - 8:37amI can’t stand river, that’s why once will be enough.
daz
December 21st, 2015 - 1:12pmIf it does indeed include 2014 and 2015 xmas specials it makes the chance of a full series next year even less as they usually hold back the most recent xmas special for the series 10 set.
2doctors2000
December 21st, 2015 - 1:18pmExactly what I said on the DVD version of this article!
Much like the series 7 boxset.
Mark Brewer
December 21st, 2015 - 2:02pmUnless, of course, season 10 boxset is released in 2017…in which case the Christmas special could be included…
the doctor
December 21st, 2015 - 5:17pmAnd unless they have already confirmed its a full season next year
danny
December 21st, 2015 - 12:44pmno Last Christmas its like S7 box set all over again
ahunter8056
December 21st, 2015 - 12:52pm“The Complete Boxset also contains the 2014 Christmas Special, Last Christmas and this year’s highly anticipated, The Husbands of River Song”
The Doc
December 21st, 2015 - 1:15pmDanny? Are you alright it clearly says ‘The Complete Boxset also contains the 2014 Christmas Special, Last Christmas and this year’s highly anticipated, The Husbands of River Song’
Cymon
December 21st, 2015 - 1:16pmIf you read the info above it says this set includes both Christmas Specials
Alex
December 21st, 2015 - 12:01pmAbout time this showed up! Bit steep though, but at least they’re including the Xmas special in it again.
Matt Young
December 21st, 2015 - 11:52amThe link doesn’t work for either UK shop. And why is Series 9 so much more expensive (£20 isn more) than Series 8?
SomeFunnyDrWhoReference
December 21st, 2015 - 12:29pmIt’s an RRP. Chances are it’ll change (most likely lower)
Nicholas
December 21st, 2015 - 1:21pmIt will go down in price. The price is easily justified though – this boxset is easily the most jam packed since at least the RTD years! This includes;
14 episodes,
3 commentaries,
8 behind the scenes,
6 documentaries,
and 7 other extras.
