BBC Doctor Who Adventures magazine recently asked readers to vote in a poll to find the ultimate monster from the Doctor Who Christmas special, The Time of the Doctor.
Almost 3,000 readers voted in the poll and the Daleks won with a massive 55% of the results.
The Weeping Angels, a relative newcomer from the Matt Smith era, received the third most votes.
The Silence unsurprisingly came last, since humans erase these monsters from their memory after seeing them!
RESULTS
1st The Daleks (55%)
2nd The Cybermen (17%)
3rd The Weeping Angels (14%)
4th The Sontarans (10%)
5th The Silence (4%)
Moray Laing, Editor, BBC Doctor Who Adventures says: “It’s official. Daleks rule! Well done to all the Daleks throughout time and space for coming first in our poll. They must be delighted with the result! It’s great to know that these unstoppable creatures continue to scare and enthrall children in 2014 as much as they did when they first appeared all those years ago. Thanks to our readers for voting!”
In the latest issue of BBC Doctor Who Adventures, there’s an interview with a Dalek who tells the magazine what it thinks of the win.
Plus:
- A look at the first picture of new Doctor Peter Capaldi in costume.
- Bonus token and entry form to win a life-size Dalek.
- Fact file about the shape-changing Zygons
- Win Doctor Who DVDs, an Xbox and games.
- Make a Dalek puppet eyestalk.
- Secrets from the set of The Time of the Doctor!
All this, plus the latest news, posters, puzzles and an exciting comic strip featuring an unseen adventure with the Eleventh Doctor and Clara.
Issue 339, on sale 12-25 February, priced £2.99. The issue comes with an exclusive monster stationery set. Don’t miss it!
