July 25th, 2014 - 1:02amWill this be available worldwide or is this an UK-only release???? I am very excited about this!!!

July 25th, 2014 - 9:03amI think they would have said if it wasn’t

July 25th, 2014 - 9:25amI hope it’s WorldWide! I really want this to be released in Australia! I would pre order this if it came to Australia.
booboo
July 25th, 2014 - 9:27amyou can order it from the BBC anyway
MadManWithABox
July 25th, 2014 - 9:27amI’m in Australia and I’ve already pre-ordered my copy! 😀
Australian and UK Blu-Rays used the same region coding, so a UK Blu-Ray can play in an Australian player, or vice versa.
Jay Ubi
July 25th, 2014 - 3:30pmI only have a R1 DVD player so this is why I’m curious.
MadManWithABox
July 27th, 2014 - 2:15amSorry, but I’m afraid DVD Region Coding is another matter entirely…
Unless your DVD player happens to be region-free, then R2 DVDs (UK DVDs) will NOT play in a R1 player. Occasionally R2 DVDs will play in R4 (Australian) players, but this is rare and depends entirely depends on the disc.

August 13th, 2014 - 4:22pmSurely, others should let this order just be for UK. Otherwise we will have none left. They can have there’s, if it is released in there country

August 13th, 2014 - 4:48pmthat’s an “if” though

July 23rd, 2014 - 4:22pmHopefully the Standard 2D day of the doctor has had it’s audio fixed as it had problems on the 3D blu ray disc where the audio sounded distorted and tinny. Hopefully for this high profile release they have fixed it.

July 23rd, 2014 - 10:04pmME TOO. God I hope so.

July 25th, 2014 - 3:00amSays 3D on cover of bluray
Dorium Maldovar
July 25th, 2014 - 8:52amDoes that mean you have to have a 3D TV to watch the episode? (Does it come with the option to watch in 2D?)
booboo
July 25th, 2014 - 8:57amto watch it in 3d yes, and a 3d player
its bound to come with 2d disc or 2d option on the same disc i would have thought

CaptainJack2000
July 23rd, 2014 - 3:31pmAccording to DWM it’s £40.84 for DVD and £45.95 for BR. But likely that’ll drop once it gets a retail listing.
Trenzalore
July 23rd, 2014 - 3:42pmThat’s actually a surprisingly good and reasonable price for the amount of features and the packaging which I imagine will be quite big and fancy.

July 23rd, 2014 - 2:26pmThis is exciting but could they not have told us it was on the way before we all ordered copies? And will Time of the Doctor be available on the Series 8 boxset?
SomeFunnyDrWhoReference
July 23rd, 2014 - 8:57pmUnlikely as this was the End of Matt’s era final story. Season 8 box set will soley start with Peter (as did season 5,Matt’s first)
Day and Time (and to a minor extent Name) are essentially a specials box set (like Tennant’s final year)
Radburn
July 23rd, 2014 - 10:56pmWill be a short Series 8 then with only 12 episodes?
James A
July 24th, 2014 - 1:43amI think the series concludes with the Christmas special, making the series 13 episodes.
Blake Jamieson
July 24th, 2014 - 9:14ambut i think the series 8 boxset is released before Christmas so, the 2014 xmas special will probably be on the series 9 box next year. But this year is filled with the DVDs, this and the Series 8 box is gonna leave me broke for ages XD
Radburn
July 24th, 2014 - 12:03pmYes, Series 8 will finish early Nov & the DVD Boxset is due in November ~ So a very short unfair set without ‘Time Of The Doctor’ on it…
Slytherinx
July 24th, 2014 - 5:27pmBear in mind the first episode of series 8 is double length. They could easily have made it a two-parter to stretch series 8 to 13 episodes, but chose instead to keep it feature lenghth.

July 23rd, 2014 - 2:21pmDefinitely gonna get the Blu-Ray set as soon as it’s up for pre-order. Really interested the readthrough for Day and very happy we finally get AAISAT on Blu-Ray – Have been holding out on buying it for this
ahunter8056
July 23rd, 2014 - 1:50pmI’ll only be buying this if it’s an extended edition of the 2013 Doctor Who Prom. The broadcast version cut out way too many vital pieces.
drjakeyoung
July 23rd, 2014 - 12:43pmI have been going on about this set for almost a year, and now it’s finally coming out! With most the extra’s i predicted! So pre-ordering! Although it could have done with the 2 prequels for name.
CaptainJack2000
July 23rd, 2014 - 2:18pmIt’s got the night of the doctor and the last day
drjakeyoung
July 23rd, 2014 - 8:50pmI mean he said, she said and Clarence and the whispermen
GallifreyanKnight
July 27th, 2014 - 12:37amThey don’t need to be included, as they are already on the season 33 boxset.
The TARDIS
July 23rd, 2014 - 12:40pmAny idea if this will be the same style as the complete series digipack editions, or will it be something different like the BBC Shop exclusive series seven?
Jdog
July 23rd, 2014 - 12:34pmWould this set be casual DVD collector’s friendly? By that I mean for someone who possibly couldn’t start a DW DVD collection and has the Regeneration box set instead.
Trenzalore
July 23rd, 2014 - 12:30pmFINALY! I’ve been wanting details on it for ages! Looks like they’ve included everything. I like the sound of The Day Of The Doctor Readthrough – the little snippets of readthrough we’ve seen in other DVD’s always interest me.
Really excited to see the packaging, I imagine it will be amazing.
The less said about the price the better 😆
Trenzalore
July 23rd, 2014 - 12:33pmIt would be brilliant if the War Doctor figure was included with it – it would be another chance for people who missed to get it.
Doctor Who Crazy Ross
July 23rd, 2014 - 2:46pmIt would be amazing if we had a Doctor Trilogy Capsule with this DVD set, The War Doctor figure with Moment and The Gears of War Book, but it would probably cost over £100.
drjakeyoung
July 23rd, 2014 - 8:51pmWell that was what the 4th doctor time capsule was and that was £55.
100000BC
July 23rd, 2014 - 12:29pmBasically this is every piece of 2D video content with any meaning, significance and value (i.e. not the afterparty) that was transmitted/released with specifically the 50th anniversary in mind. (as Name and Time were basically extra 50th anniversary specials, which highlighted the “every enemy” and “(sort of) new footage of every Doctor” aspects of fandom’s expectations.
Darrell
July 26th, 2014 - 10:47pmExcept the excellent ‘Me You And Doctor Who’ documentary, which was half the length and a hundred times the value of the abysmal ‘Ultimate Guide’. Strictly speaking this box set doesn’t include the true 2D version of Day Of The Doctor either on the Bluray version, which inexcusably uses the same glitchy disc as the individual release.
GallifreyanKnight
July 27th, 2014 - 12:45amYou’ll also find that all the TV and radio trailers, as well as all the 50th anniversary YouTube content, have not been included.
So it doesn’t come with “everything”, which is a shame, as it would have been nice to have it “all” in one set.
Richard Doidge
July 23rd, 2014 - 12:21pmCan’t wait for this to be able to pre-order! Are we expecting that’ll be soon? 😀
booboo
July 23rd, 2014 - 12:22pmtechnically DWM isn’t out until tomorrow so after then doubt it will be long

July 23rd, 2014 - 12:08pmThis is a perfect release. I’ll be ordering it as soon as it’s available. Glad to see it’s got everything. “Name” wasn’t necessary at all, but it’s a very nice touch.
the astroanut of death
July 23rd, 2014 - 12:17pmname was necessary as it is part of the
of the doctor trilogy
Doctor Who Crazy Ross
July 23rd, 2014 - 2:49pmName is the most necessary part of the trilogy….
It not only sees the Doctors tomb on Trenzalore, but it also introduces us to The War Doctor and goes into the Day of the Doctor.
In this trilogy, we see Trenzalore in both Name and Time (the events before and after Day) so it is very necessary for the box set.
StetsonDoctor
July 23rd, 2014 - 12:06pmI read that this is limited edition-4000 on DVD and 6000 on Blu-Ray. Taking that into consideration, should it be fairly easy to get hold of when it comes out, but possibly become rare afterwards like the ‘Regeneration’ box set?
Nobody in particular
July 23rd, 2014 - 11:53amThis would probably have to be a Christmas present, but It’ll certainly be on my list
The Other
July 23rd, 2014 - 11:44amHopefully this will have a great cover/box to reflect the great contents

July 23rd, 2014 - 11:31amIs this going to be available through all outlets or just BBC Shop? Any ideas?

July 23rd, 2014 - 11:22amThe RRP according to the magazine is £40.84 for the DVD and £45.95 for the blu-ray, but chances are that it’ll be online for a bit cheaper than that
