October 27th, 2016 - 7:06pmTwo thoughts. First the line isn’t dead but they do need to make up for the couple years where it was ruined by moving to the 3-in figures. They’re back to 5.5 and I couldn’t be happier.
Ok, so I’d rather a current Clara than yet another Doctor but I’m sure we will eventually. It took 3 years for us to get a Night of the Doctor 8th Doctor. I think we’ll get a new Clara well before they get around to a Bill figure.
Question is whether they’ll recognize that it’s mostly adults buying these, not kids, and start doing Class and Torchwood (the Capt Jack they did was DW).

October 27th, 2016 - 7:38pmI hope we get a new Clara before Bill. I just don’t see how they are thinking. Series 9 has just passed, so all of these figures should have been different variants/characters/monsters from series 9. In my eyes, the figures should have been a 12 in red velvet coat, Clara from FTR, 12 in outfit above, and then 2 monsters/billing from the series. instead they gave us 2 12 repaints, a tenth Dr in tuxedo (which doesn’t even make sense) a tardis re release (of the 10th Dr’s) and they’ve cancelled the last one. who came up with the idea to add in a random 10 figure into this wave, and not give us the figures I mentioned above.

October 27th, 2016 - 7:07pmMore to the point why has this reveal been bought forward? I suspect its because we aren’t getting the fifth figure reveal so this is compensation. An important point for all the people who hate this figure, would you rather have waited until 3rd November and have this revealed to your disappointment? At least this way you have seen it sooner rather than later and haven’t wasted your time.

October 27th, 2016 - 7:03pmI like it as well, more than The Girl Who Died variant because this more of an original costume for the Twelfth Doctor as he is actually wearing his own costume as opposed to borrowing items of clothing from other Doctors like the plaid trousers. (but that is still a good variant)

October 27th, 2016 - 6:53pmSo do I, I’m not negative for this I’m looking forward to hopefully buying both variants along with the Tenth Doctor in tuxedo figure when they are released. It was obvious we were going to be getting this yet again people were looking into the teaser image way too much and now that we’ve got this people aren’t happy. As I have mentioned countless times I don’t like the hoodie costumes that the Twelfth Doctor has worn but as figures they look really good and the new Sonic Screwdriver is an added bonus. Out of the two this is easily my favourite as I thought that Under the Lake/ Before the Flood was an amazing two-parter, although if The Girl Who Died variant was replaced with or if the final announcement was a Magician’s Apprentice/ Witch’s Familiar variant that would be my overall favourite.

What sells??… the Doctor figures sell, especially here in the States. I am overjoyed with this figure. I’m a Doctor Who fan and I will buy 2 of these easily

October 27th, 2016 - 6:38pmI agree loads with u guys I loved it when they did the first 10th and 9th Drs and rembering buying them at hamleys in London but ever see that wave series 6 I thought peg dow would be my last but wasn’t and now since then the lines gone dead loads like when they aounnced the 3.75 figures the line went done loads as since wave 4 they never did wave 5 and more now days even people don’t really buy them as the intrest like they used to be so I agree im evening more in bands and music most as that’s gone on for loads of years and still going 🙂

I know he ain’t in his red velvet coat and all but its still a good figure
All I can hope for the line to keep fans happy is that we get a big character/ set for the fifth figure.

October 27th, 2016 - 5:18pmI’m happy with this figure, not as good as the other twelfth Doctor figure coming out and I love getting different doctors with costumes! …but considering they built up quite a hype about the figure just for it to be cancelled and be replaced with this repainted figure, it is undoubtedly a bit of a late down.

October 27th, 2016 - 5:27pmCorrection, the line has been dead since 2011. Last year and this year have been attempts to revive the line but it doesn’t seem to have paid off. Having said that I still don’t quite understand why people are getting disappointed over this, it was made clear by many people that we shouldn’t get our hopes up for anything major for this announcement and generally speaking this is still a new product, even if it is a variant. It was blatantly obvious that we were going to be seeing another Twelve Doctor variant so its hardly a shock in my opinion and at least its accurate. Neither the Twelve Doctor, Clara or the Curator figures released last year were accurate, they all had inaccuracies but this and The Girl Who Died variant seem to be pretty solid figures and for the most part I prefer them to last years variants. Okay its a shame we haven’t got a velvet coat Twelfth Doctor, a new Cyberman or a new Zygon, but I’d happily take this over a Kate Stewart and an Osgood any day. I’m sorry but Kate Stewart isn’t a popular enough character to warrant a new release and its too late for an accurate Clara figure now as she has gone and is unlikely to return. (however this is the Moffat era so knowing Steven he will make up any old excuse to bring her back, like how he made up a story to bring back Nardole for Series 10)

So many people were thinking crazy figures were going to be made and then they were let down when this was revealed. It’s all dollars and cents or pounds & Like you, I love this figure. I’d rather have a Collect-and-Build Vespiform re-release and the unreleased teleporting Clockwork man prototype than a Kate Stewart figure, besides if we got her then there would have been a massive public outcry of people complaing about the lack of a new Cyberman, Zygon and an Osgood. Kate may be a popular character among a select number of people but I really doubt she would sell, especially in the US where this wave is primarily aimed towards.

I am disappointed that they gave us 2 12th doctors, none of which were at least a red velvet coat variant (which everyone wants) and then they gave us a re-released Tardis play set (which most people didn’t like) and then a ten in a tux (which is totally random). The last figure has now been cancelled, and we didn’t get simple and totally obvious figures that we should have gotten like a new Clara figure and a red velvet 12 (which everyone wants). Have you noticed we still aren’t getting figures we asked for.

We were told we’ve been getting new figures and we have. We were told this would be a new product and it is…sort of.
The issue I’ve got here is that when you think about we’ve only really been given one new Twelfth Doctor figure, take off the paint and this one and the other hoodie figure will be the same sculpt underneath.
Now I’m not a fan of the hoodie figures so I probably won’t be buying either of these but this is my problem with the way they are marketing figures right now, I don’t see these two hoodie releases as two new figures, I see it as one new figure/sculpt with two paint variations, and maybe it’s just me but it does feel like it’s a bit misleading.
If the cancelled figure turns out to be something like a Series 8 Cyberman then they are going to have ALOT of annoyed people on their hands as speaking for myself I’d have much rather had that one the first variant than not have that and have two hoodie variants

October 27th, 2016 - 5:50pmI noticed that they appear to have retooled his boots to include tagged on the rear that was never on the Series 8 figures…because that’s a far better use of retooling than to say retool the Series 8 shirt front to include a waistcoat which could then be used to make a Red Velvet jacket figure from the Series 8 body

Also people would have still kicked up a fuss and said it looks no different to the variants we got last year and the hoodie variants we’re getting are a lot different ti what we got last year. Its a case where the needs of the many (who asked for a hoodie variant thats different from last year’s variants) outweigh the needs of the few. Although I will admit a lot of people, myself included asked for some new monsters to be produced but on the bright side these variants are figures we asked for.

October 27th, 2016 - 4:37pmThis costume is featured in all episodes from Last Christmas to Sleep No More except the Girl Who Died (although sometimes the hoodie was unzipped).
In Magician/Witch the outfit was featured in the young Davros scenes.
So if we had the red velvet coat Capaldi we would have most of the series 9 costume variants. We would just need a repaint box set or two (ie B&M) to release Hell Bent (red coat repainted black) and Magician’s Apprentice (trousers of Girl Who Died variant repainted).

October 27th, 2016 - 5:11pmFor some strange reason the sculpt isn’t based on the AllSaints mode merino hoodie, it’s based on the John Smedley hoodie worn in Under the Lake and Before the Flood. Although it’s inaccurate as the boots worn in the episode are Doc Marten Mayers and this sculpt has the Doc Marten Affleck’s worn throughout the rest of series 9

I wanted a new Clara figure or at least a red velvet 12 instead. this is a good repaint, but it’s a repaint. We aren’t probably getting a new clara figure after this, and I don’t even know if the red velvet 12 will be released any time as in series 10 the dr has another new outfit. I knew this would happen.
