Are the dalek with mutant scoop or the gold dalek in any of the forthcoming playsets, because i didn,t want to buy individually this time. I can wait. Can,t believe i paid £30 for the cyberman with blue chest about 9 months ago, wish i,d waited THEN. Also will that black dalek be repacked?

I like the look of this wave, just a shame BBC Shop seem to have stopped getting stock. I emailed them the other day and got the response that they weren’t aware of anymore waves beyond the first two.

I can quite believe that, the later figures were never officially announced and official images not forthcoming until long after the figures were released

They were just seen as running changes to wave 3, a bit like the 3.75″ Tardis where all 3 versions come under the same order code

I don’t see why people are complaining so much over the lost of the stands… I MEAN REALLY SO MANY PEOPLE HATE AND COMPLAINED AT THE STANDS ABOUT HOW THEY LOOKED AND HATED ON THEM EVERY CHANCE THEY GOT ANNNNNNNNNNNND NOW THEY ARE MAD CAUSE CO IS NOT GOING TO MAKE THEM ANYMORE???? REALLY GUYS CHARACTER PROBABLY THOUGHT THERE WHERE GIVING US WHAT WE WANTED BY NOT GIVING US STANDS.

Yes SOME people did complain, mainly because they thought they were to big or bright.

That doesn’t stop others who want to easily display their figures from asking what’s happened to them or wanting to be able to buy them separately

      February 12th, 2015 - 9:21am

It’s the same scenario as the Paradigm Daleks, it looked like everyone hated them and everyone was complaining – but as soon as they disappeared from the show, everyone complained they weren’t returning.

Obviously there are people with different opinions but – sometimes I just don’t think people can be happy.

They should just do a smaller clear circle stand or something, so you can stand figures up if necessary. Win, Win.

I have got to say, I am really looking forward to the release of these. The quality has improved a lot even though I haver never really had much of a problem in the past but these just look great!

I will definitely be buying The Caretaker 12 and the new sculpt Cyberman Figure. Also I might get the Foretold at some point but I think will probably wait until its later release in the next Wave 4 Shipments 🙂

CO are trying to put more money and effort into the figure itself rather than a stand.
I think that the standard of these new figures and the others at the Toy Fair (Especially the Foretold) are a good example of this

I do hope they will come through with stands for those who want to buy them though

      February 11th, 2015 - 9:27pm

I am personally not bothered about the loss of the stands as I have never used or needed them. Although I do think Character should definitely form some way of getting some for those that still want or need the stands but I doubt much will be done for quite a while though.

The 12th Doctor is a NEW figure! The shirt is new. And the jacket seems to look different (not a repaint) and the Cyberman IS a different sculpt. But sadly Scovox just same but I don’t have him yet so I will get them all! (When I say that I mean they are Pre-Ordered)

The twelfth doctor has just had a repaint with a coat added on. Its not a new sculpt.

    • The Twelfth Doctor

      February 11th, 2015 - 11:53am

Well, the coat and he shirt are brand new sculpts, so it actually is a new sculpt.

    • koloth

      February 11th, 2015 - 3:07pm

New body sculpt does not mean complete new sculpt. It means kit-bash!

    • The Twelfth Doctor

      February 11th, 2015 - 3:21pm

A new body sculpt means it is not a repaint, so the figure essentially is a new sculpt!

    • matt9982

      February 11th, 2015 - 4:13pm

The only original parts of it are the legs/feet and the Face/head and Hands.
      Everything else is new

  • MrHalloWho

    February 11th, 2015 - 7:16am

Don’t really see the difference on the Cyberman, other than the face is better painted/sculpted. We’ve already had the Blitzer and a million Doctors, so the only truly new figure is the Mummy (Foretold).

I seriously think they should reduce the size of the packaging if they are getting rid of the bases – waste of plastic. Perhaps they should be more like the old Star Wars packaging

    • StetsonDoctor

      February 10th, 2015 - 9:36pm

Well I see what you mean, the Foretold looks very lonely and slightly out of place in such a large box, in the same way that some of the older 5″ figures did in that huge packaging. However, I suppose the idea is that more and more future figures are going to have lots of accessories, so hopefully this won’t be a problem later on.

The Caretaker Doctor would never fit inside smaller packing, it’s just the right size for him. They have to keep all the 3.75″ packaging the same, standard size-it would look even more odd if you went into a shop and discovered that each figure was in different-sized packaging.

I think it’s fine how it is overall.

  • The Living Shadow

    February 10th, 2015 - 7:49pm

12 isn’t very accurate, but I hated that hole jumper, so I’ll let them off! Plus it still has the overall look of the Doctor in ‘the Caretaker’ as for the other figures…Skovox looks great! Haven’t picked him up yet, so I’m glad he’s in this wave too. Cyberman is pretty nice, not too excited over it, but not at all disappointed as I missed out when it was rare. The Foretold is beautiful…well, as beautiful as a gross mummy can get!

To be honest I’m not happy with the caretaker twelve, they’ve just been lazy giving him a t-shirt. He clearly wore a black jumper with holes all over it, not a black collared shirt. It would have been great if it had little dots all over it and didn’t have the collar.

    • booboo

      February 10th, 2015 - 5:33pm

      not lazy – expensive

new tooling and masks not worth it for a £7 figure

    • MrHalloWho

      February 11th, 2015 - 7:25am

It doesn’t need sculpting, just a flat sheet of black over the top of the shirt and under the coat would be fine! They could use the same piece of the back of his jacket, repainted it and put it instead of the shirt piece.

    • booboo

      February 11th, 2015 - 7:41am

which would still require new moulds and production changes and masks

again not worth it for a £7 figure

    • Anonymous

      February 11th, 2015 - 8:14am

But Booboo they did make a new sculpt of shirt and they could have reused a jumper sculpt for a listen variant just like they must be using this shirt for a ROS variant,so it wouldn’t have been a waste, I can’t wait for the purple shirt 12 though

I know people will complain about them reusing the Capaldi head sculpt because they think it doesn’t look good, but I think it looks great for what it is. You know, a small toy made of plastic…

It’s much better than that ridiculously innacurate one with the smirk and raised eyebrow. So, I’m happy it’s still the same. Even if I don’t collect the toys.

Why, because he’s wearing black shirt and not a black t-shirt with white flecks?

Let’s be honest, they aren’t going to sculpt a new t-shirted model for a variant figure. And the white specks are way too small a detail to be added.

Jumper, t-shirt, either would look identical on a figure like this.

And my point still stands? They aren’t going to tool up a new torso for a simple variant!
