Doctor Who Magazine Special Horror Issue

Doctor Who Magazine celebrates the Blu-ray release of Season 13 with a special issue about the show’s classic Gothic horror episodes. Every copy includes a new and exclusive compilation CD from BBC Audiobooks!

Highlights of the all-new content include:

  • Behind the scenes on the shoot that brought the monstrous Skarasen back to life, for the new Special Edition of Terror of the Zygons.
  • An exclusive interview with Anna Ridley, the designer of 1977’s Image of the Fendahl – including previously unseen photos from her collection.
  • A visit to the picturesque East Hagbourne – the location for The Android Invasion.
  • The late-night TV horrors that inspired some of the greatest Doctor Who stories ever made.
  • The surprising story behind The Brain of Morbius – revealed by recently discovered documents in the archive of director Christopher Barry.
  • A fresh look at the campaign Mary Whitehouse waged against Doctor Who in the mid-1970s.
  • The unmade Robert Holmes stories that would have taken Doctor Who even further into the dark side.
  • A guide to the Fourth Doctor’s friends and foes during the Gothic horror years.

PLUS A new and exclusive short story by Louise Jameson, who played Leela!

These specials come quite thick and fast these days. And I’m glad of that. But let’s have another “Chronicles” before the end of the year. And, please let it be 1966. The first year of THREE Doctors, if you think about it.
