First look at Character’s 3.75″ Ice Warrior Figure
Character Options 3.75″ Ice Warrior Figure
First look at the new 3.75 Inch Ice Warrior figure from Character Options.
Character options is launching a new range of 3.75-inch Doctor Who figures to celebrate to the 50th anniversary show, and Sfx has your first look at the new, upcoming Ice Warrior figure.
This figure is due to be released next month in the new 3.75 Inch scale.
“After huge popular demand from fans, 2013 will see the launch of a range of new series 3¾ inch figures and playsets. The new collection will succeed the incredibly successful 5-inch figures portraying both characters and storylines from the new series including The Eleventh Doctor, his new companion Clara as well as many of the foes he has met over the past 50 years,” says Character Options Brand Manager Mark Hunt.
He adds: “We also have some very special 50th Anniversary product for later in the year… but that is top secret!”
Describing why Character Options has begun the new range with its new size, Hunt says, “This is the 50th anniversary year of Doctor Who and we wanted to create something that was new for the brand and refresh our product offering, and create some demand amongst both avid collectors, fans and children. Our market research showed that many children today are collecting smaller figures and boys action figures across the market are moving to this size.
“The new size also allows us to bring a more affordable price point that we would not be able to at this time with a 5-inch figure. This again is reacting to the market conditions and makes the figures more accessible to more fans. Again in such a special year it was important that we cater for as many as possible.”
These highly detailed, realistic and poseable 3.75 action figures include characters from Doctor Who series seven including Daleks, Weeping Angels, Cybermen armies, and, of course, the Ice Warriors!

the astronaut of death
April 14th, 2013 - 10:06amthis is great news I am definitely getting this
I have a theory that after each episode of series 7 if they have made a figure for that episode they will reveal it so after ,journey to the center of tardis, they may reveal a NEW TARDIS PLAYSET.
Nicholas
April 14th, 2013 - 10:04am“Something special for the 50th…”
CLASSIC TARDIS PLAYSET? PLEASE BE ONE!!!
If not that, I wouldn’t mind a 2013 Tardis Playset.
Maybe it’s both?
mr
April 14th, 2013 - 10:00amNot on topic, but in the Rings of Akhaten, at 31.43 minutes through, the Doctor says ‘BooBoo’
“Actually, I think I may have made a bit of a tactical BooBoo.” – The Doctor
“What BooBoo?” – Clara

Scott the Raptor
April 14th, 2013 - 9:32amThis will not be in 5′.
The Driver
April 14th, 2013 - 9:32amExactly what I’m going to do.
The Flying Shark
April 14th, 2013 - 9:42amScott the Raptor, I think Kiwi63 means the classic 5″ one.
Anyway, I think this figure looks brilliant!
mr
April 14th, 2013 - 9:52amYes, I will get the classic one.
Scott the Raptor
April 14th, 2013 - 9:26amAs soon as it was confirmed that new series figures would from now on be 3.75″, I was like “NOOOOOOOOOOOO!”. But now we have seen the Cyberman, Clara Weeping Angel, Dalek, Ice Warrior, Playsets and the TARDIS, these look brilliant. Also, does anyone think the 3.75″ TARDIS at The Toy Fair is much more detailed than the 5″ ones?
The Driver
April 14th, 2013 - 9:59amIf anything, they’ll be less detailed if they’re smaller.
Scott the Raptor
April 14th, 2013 - 10:25amBut the TARDIS is much more detailed than the 5′ one.
The Driver
April 14th, 2013 - 9:22amWhat was the figure on the far right for- the one holding the gun?

April 14th, 2013 - 9:22amits the Dapol on as a comparison

April 14th, 2013 - 9:01ambooboo will it be the same weight?
booboo
April 14th, 2013 - 9:03amnever handled one to know
dalek eternal
April 14th, 2013 - 2:14pmthe smaller size figures are very light they way no where near the same as 5 inch if u have any star wars figures u can compare the weight of them against the 5 inch doctor who figures
josh smith
April 14th, 2013 - 8:32amwhy did they make the cie warriors cyborges when they clearly are not!
booboo
April 14th, 2013 - 8:49amyou mean the figures thing with the controls, don’t know
josh smith
April 14th, 2013 - 8:55amon the episode they said ice warriors are cyborgs when they clearly are not!
booboo
April 14th, 2013 - 9:02ambut their casing would make them cyborg wouldn’t it
Esterath
April 14th, 2013 - 9:02amThe ICe Warriors have always been cyborgs…
josh smith
April 14th, 2013 - 9:04ambut in the curse of pelidon the doctor said they are reptiles and they had armour that was organic! the armour had fur on them. i was almost in tears watching that episode
booboo
April 14th, 2013 - 9:06ammay be this warrior one was different
josh smith
April 14th, 2013 - 9:08amthank you. You have cheered me up now
The Driver
April 14th, 2013 - 9:36amYeah, I found it quite weird that they were cyborgs and that they could leave their armour. Maybe they’ve upgraded the ice warriors so they’re like that, like they have done with the daleks, cybermen and sontarans. Plus, its a shame they didn’t have more ice warriors in that episode, and they could have had an ice lord.
Doctorwhofan101
April 14th, 2013 - 9:59amDoes this mean that they will make a new wave of alien attax and have the new ice warriors under cyborg?
The Driver
April 14th, 2013 - 10:02amIs there even a category called cyborg
MasterKasterborous
April 14th, 2013 - 10:14amWhy can’t they be cyborgs with organic armour. They needed to adapt to the changing environment on Mars. I thought it worked really well.
Doctorwhofan101
April 14th, 2013 - 11:02amYes
Gareth T
April 14th, 2013 - 11:09amI think some fans need to go back and watch the first appearance of the martians in “The Ice Warriors” the second Doctor examines the frozen man and determines the creature’s helmet/armour incorporates electronic parts so in essence they have always been cyborgs given the fact they nearly never vacate their armour.
Ian
April 14th, 2013 - 7:50amNot interested. Would not go with my 5″ collection, I am not buying a new Tardis etc. Only interested in getting a Dalek.
The Driver
April 14th, 2013 - 9:37amThat’s why I don’t want to get it for the same reason.
Dalek The Supreme
April 14th, 2013 - 3:17amLooks good! I think I might actually genuinely switch over to the new scale because of this! Also, who else hopes they make a 3.75 inch metallic red Dalek Drone in the future?
ForeverDalek2313
April 14th, 2013 - 11:41amI hope so aswell, but we might get it in the dalek sets.
Dalek The Supreme
April 14th, 2013 - 8:12pmYes, but the Doctor/Dalek sets are 5-inch. Either way, I think the metallic Paradigm Daleks are great!
MasterKasterborous
April 14th, 2013 - 12:52amOnly ever bough three 5 inch figures as there were just so many. This gives me a chance to buy them from the start and I’m looking forward to getting an Ice Warrior toy!
McGann is The Doctor
April 14th, 2013 - 12:52amDissapointed with the mouth, it looks dopey with that smile; where are the teeth ? Where is the mean look from the Ice Warrior I saw tonight ? ❓
Petrichoreleven
April 14th, 2013 - 12:13amI really hope they make an electronic tardis playset with lights and it rotates at the top
doctorwholew
April 13th, 2013 - 11:57pmTo me the eyes are too reddish and i dont know but to me it doesnt seem like there is a weapon on his arm also his legs seem too skinny for the body but
the rest looks great. Also if we got to see skaldak’s body when he is out of his suit we could of got a set of two, with skaldak figure out of suit with a figure of skaldak’s suit empty.
ForeverDalek2313
April 13th, 2013 - 11:13pmVery nice figure, though I would have preferred if they had the hands in closed fists.
But all in all another great addition to the new figure line.
The Storm That Waits
April 13th, 2013 - 11:08pmI prefer the 5″ figures, but I will give these new ones a try. I will probably get all of them anyway.
Mr Evil Fez
April 14th, 2013 - 7:27amSame.
Matthew Bazza
April 13th, 2013 - 11:05pmWhat’s the price
DYM Official
April 13th, 2013 - 11:17pm£6.99 each if I remember rightly.
Sebatron
April 13th, 2013 - 10:56pmNice. Can’t wait for the others!
Jack
April 13th, 2013 - 10:56pmRight I have totalled the EXPECTED prices up and …
For all 6 figures = £41.94 (£6.99 each)
All 4 sets = £39.96 (£9.99 each)
Spin ‘n’ fly Tardis = £14.99
If you were to buy all of these it would set you back a whopping £96.89 if I am correct so get saving everyone 🙂
Sebatron
April 14th, 2013 - 8:32amIn dollars for all you Aussie Whovians
one figure would cost about $10 each
The Tardis would cost about $21 each
and the sets would be $14 each
So not bad.
The Driver
April 14th, 2013 - 9:48amThe tardis will probably be less as its smaller
Scott the Raptor
April 14th, 2013 - 9:50amI thought the tardis was going to retail for £9.99?
Joetoonz
April 13th, 2013 - 10:40pmHey Booboo, what are the wave 1 figures?
Jack
April 13th, 2013 - 10:43pmI am not Booboo but it contains the doctor , Clara , a dalek , a weeping angel , a cyberman, and now an ice warrior 🙂
eddy
April 13th, 2013 - 10:48pmi really quite like them, will probably buy most.
ForeverDalek2313
April 13th, 2013 - 11:03pmThis is looking like a promising wave of figures.
Joetoonz
April 13th, 2013 - 11:08pmSounds good:D What about the playsets? Anybody know?:)
Boodleoo
April 14th, 2013 - 12:18am2 out of 4 have been announced angels take manhattan set and a made up daleks invading london style set. Look at the pictures in the reel above. Plus either the weeping angels set or the individual figures are said to come with cherub accesories.
Le Pablo
April 14th, 2013 - 2:44amIt’ll probably include
Confirmed: The Doctor, Clara, Weeping Angels, Gold Daleks, Cybermen, and Ice Warriors.
Theory: Whispermen [or whatever those white things with top hats are called], the witch[?], the crimson horror.
Space1999
April 14th, 2013 - 4:31amWe have not seen the doctor in the new range yet
Kroton
April 14th, 2013 - 9:30amIt’s only 6 fingers I think! So I think we may have seen them all for wave 1.
The Driver
April 14th, 2013 - 9:39amWe have seen the Dr at the toy fair.
booboo
April 14th, 2013 - 9:43amthe Doctor wasn’t there but we have seen an image
thedaleksdeath
April 14th, 2013 - 9:41amLOL 6 fingers I think you mean figures 🙂
Kroton
April 14th, 2013 - 12:50pmYeah, it’s autocorrect, my ipod refuses to let me turn it off!
I hope the new doctor figure is not the one in the image and has been updated to his purple coat, as it will be the wrong costume for the companion and for everything!!!!!!!!!
Jacob Adams
April 13th, 2013 - 10:28pmI hate them. They’re really un detailed and are no where near as good as the 5 inch ones. However, I do find that the head sculpt is quit nice, it is just the chest.
Jacob Adams
April 13th, 2013 - 10:33pmIn fact, it looks like a figure which could have been made by dapol.
Kroton
April 14th, 2013 - 12:51pmWell there’s not that much more detail you could do on a ice warrior, but fear not, I think this is just a prototype!
Jack
April 13th, 2013 - 10:27pmI can see ther being many offers with these like 3 for £15 at argos at Xmas but overall we will all get over the fact that the 5′ figures (new sereis) have gone and that a new breed if you like have come out you slate them now but I know you will all be buying them as soon as they are released I don’t mean do sound all ‘I told yo so ish’ but people will including myself
Scott the Raptor
April 13th, 2013 - 10:29pmI agree with you. I shall buy all of wave 1 and the tardis.
