First look at Character’s 3.75″ Ice Warrior Figure

Character Options 3.75″ Ice Warrior Figure

First look at the new 3.75 Inch Ice Warrior figure from Character Options.

Character options is launching a new range of 3.75-inch Doctor Who figures to celebrate to the 50th anniversary show, and Sfx has your first look at the new, upcoming Ice Warrior figure.

This figure is due to be released next month in the new 3.75 Inch scale.

“After huge popular demand from fans, 2013 will see the launch of a range of new series 3¾ inch figures and playsets. The new collection will succeed the incredibly successful 5-inch figures portraying both characters and storylines from the new series including The Eleventh Doctor, his new companion Clara as well as many of the foes he has met over the past 50 years,” says Character Options Brand Manager Mark Hunt.

ice-warrior-size

He adds: “We also have some very special 50th Anniversary product for later in the year… but that is top secret!”

Describing why Character Options has begun the new range with its new size, Hunt says, “This is the 50th anniversary year of Doctor Who and we wanted to create something that was new for the brand and refresh our product offering, and create some demand amongst both avid collectors, fans and children. Our market research showed that many children today are collecting smaller figures and boys action figures across the market are moving to this size.

“The new size also allows us to bring a more affordable price point that we would not be able to at this time with a 5-inch figure. This again is reacting to the market conditions and makes the figures more accessible to more fans. Again in such a special year it was important that we cater for as many as possible.”

These highly detailed, realistic and poseable 3.75 action figures include characters from Doctor Who series seven including Daleks, Weeping Angels, Cybermen armies, and, of course, the Ice Warriors!

this is great news I am definitely getting this

I have a theory that after each episode of series 7 if they have made a figure for that episode they will reveal it so after ,journey to the center of tardis, they may reveal a NEW TARDIS PLAYSET.

CLASSIC TARDIS PLAYSET? PLEASE BE ONE!!!

If not that, I wouldn’t mind a 2013 Tardis Playset.

Not on topic, but in the Rings of Akhaten, at 31.43 minutes through, the Doctor says ‘BooBoo’

“Actually, I think I may have made a bit of a tactical BooBoo.” – The Doctor

    “What BooBoo?” – Clara

As soon as it was confirmed that new series figures would from now on be 3.75″, I was like “NOOOOOOOOOOOO!”. But now we have seen the Cyberman, Clara Weeping Angel, Dalek, Ice Warrior, Playsets and the TARDIS, these look brilliant. Also, does anyone think the 3.75″ TARDIS at The Toy Fair is much more detailed than the 5″ ones?

thank you. You have cheered me up now

    • The Driver

      April 14th, 2013 - 9:36am

Yeah, I found it quite weird that they were cyborgs and that they could leave their armour. Maybe they’ve upgraded the ice warriors so they’re like that, like they have done with the daleks, cybermen and sontarans. Plus, its a shame they didn’t have more ice warriors in that episode, and they could have had an ice lord.

    • Doctorwhofan101

      April 14th, 2013 - 9:59am

Does this mean that they will make a new wave of alien attax and have the new ice warriors under cyborg?

    • The Driver

      April 14th, 2013 - 10:02am

Is there even a category called cyborg

    • MasterKasterborous

      April 14th, 2013 - 10:14am

Why can’t they be cyborgs with organic armour. They needed to adapt to the changing environment on Mars. I thought it worked really well.

    • Doctorwhofan101

      April 14th, 2013 - 11:02am

      Yes

    • Gareth T

      April 14th, 2013 - 11:09am

I think some fans need to go back and watch the first appearance of the martians in “The Ice Warriors” the second Doctor examines the frozen man and determines the creature’s helmet/armour incorporates electronic parts so in essence they have always been cyborgs given the fact they nearly never vacate their armour.

the rest looks great. Also if we got to see skaldak’s body when he is out of his suit we could of got a set of two, with skaldak figure out of suit with a figure of skaldak’s suit empty.

Right I have totalled the EXPECTED prices up and …
    For all 6 figures = £41.94 (£6.99 each)
    All 4 sets = £39.96 (£9.99 each)
    Spin ‘n’ fly Tardis = £14.99

If you were to buy all of these it would set you back a whopping £96.89 if I am correct so get saving everyone 🙂

In dollars for all you Aussie Whovians
one figure would cost about $10 each
The Tardis would cost about $21 each
and the sets would be $14 each
      So not bad.
