they don’t on any anything, their (very successful) business model is to get people in stores but some redistribution would not go amiss here

      November 12th, 2020 - 5:44pm

They’re certainly successful, that’s for sure. Every time i’ve been during this or the first lockdown theres a queue out the door and i’m sure they know us collectors are willing to travel.
Though travelling a few 100 miles round trip might be a bit of a stretch.

Fingers crossed there’s some redistribution eventually, or a friendly northerner prepared to do some bulk shopping for the rest of us.

I have found no stock in the south. I sent an email to B&M and they just said “high demand for the range, all items are being sold as subject to availability, and once it’s gone, it’s gone. “

I wrote a 1 Star Review and got the stupid preprogrammed response, so I stepped it up to a full complaint, with evidence and everything, and guess what? They STILL sent back the same response. It’s so crazy and insane that B&M made their “decision” and refuse to budge on it despite how many Customers they have angered in doing so! Customers in The North can go into B&M and buy however many of the October Wave sets as they like (given the stock), yet here in Ipswich the Felixstowe Road Branch has only the old 4th Doctor Companions set (I counted at least 6) stuffed on a shelf without price, and the Bury Road Branch has a full rack of the old sets, all six, with a number of each (including at least 6 War Games Tardis sets!). What’s the stock situation regarding the “Summer” Wave in The North?
At this stage I have a good mind to wait until the October wave lower in price on the US Amazon, and buy them that way, as B&M aren’t going to do anything for The South, and Ebay prices right now are all over the shop. Here’s praying The South don’t get stiffed when the Coal Hill School and Witch’s Familiar Sets materialise…

Just back from Hull Kingston Retail Park. They had every set except the Terror of the Zygons. They’ve split them into two sections around the store so don’t give up if you’ve only seen one like I almost did. They’re pretty low on Dalek set #1 though.

we have tried 3 different approaches and got nowhere

Stuck in the middle really, on the one hand we would really like to tell our visitors “officially” what the situation is, but on the other hand we dont want to rock the boat as without B&M these figures would simply not exist.

      October 29th, 2020 - 6:33pm

I’ve already given up, for now. The reason being is that it’ll take my local B&M stores AGES to get the new wave of figures in. It took them a while for the July 2020 sets to arrive there and believe me, I did check over the summer months; only a couple of figures from that wave. They’ve loaded on the rest of the July 2020 figure sets in October instead. I understand how you feel

well it seems as alot of these stores are not going to get them now anyway…it seems that the few sets that were released to allocated stores are not able to get anymore! i would have liked to have got the friends of the 13th doctor one. sadly the stores near me – corby-northants-rushden-leicester and kettering were i live still hold only the old sets. i hate to say it seems that b&m annouce these exclusive box sets but are not able to deliver them!

Still nothing new at the Bury Road branch in Ipswich… Plus today is the unhappy, 1 month anniversary of when this debacle started (yes, some branches in the North-Of-England put the October Wave out on the Wednesday, but it was the Thursday things really started…).
At this point I just don’t know any more! Are the staff in charge of Southern Distribution for Character Options at B&M all ill with C19? Are their replacements non-Doctor-Who-fans? Will we still be in this position in 4 weeks time? My biggest worry is that because absolutely NOTHING has happened (besides the strange smattering of HOTD #3 & #4 sets that went out to random stores) in 1 entire month, what’s to stop the SAME thing happening with the Remembrance and Witch’s Familiar Sets?

My personal advice (no inside information) to anyone in southern England or Wales is if you have transport available, it would be better to travel to your nearest B&M shops with definite sightings of the new wave.
Even with the cost of petrol it would still be much cheaper than paying scalper prices.
I think with the covid situation, which is likely to get much worse plus the rumours I’ve heard of the southern distribution centre not recieving stock due to not being ready, I really believe that’s it.

    • Coleman

      October 29th, 2020 - 12:27pm

I know weve been very lucky in the north and managed to get all the sets fairly easy.
BUT, if the situation had been reversed, I know for a fact I’d have made the big road trip a couple of weeks ago by now.

    • Jon

      October 29th, 2020 - 12:38pm

I emailed Character today suggesting that they do another run of these figures for their southern customers. This happened with the season 12 Bluray sets that barely anyone got. It’s just not good enough IMO. It’s hassle enough finding these without all this. If they made the same number of sets this time around where the heck are they all?

    • Coleman

      October 29th, 2020 - 12:50pm

Just wonder (don’t know for sure) but considering what’s happened, if the 1st wave sold fairly well give those shops priority and likewise if in shops the 1st wave didn’t sell well give them low priority.
I know, reading alot of these posts that a pattern was emerging that although Wales and Southern England were reporting lack of new sets arriving they also mentioned loads of old stock on shelf’s still.
Some even saying ” my local stores packed with old stuff, doubt we’ll see the new wave”.

    • booboo

      October 29th, 2020 - 12:59pm

I could perhaps understand that from town to town, store to store, but areas are far to widespread , and in our Case our stores still have loads of the old sets but still got the new.

    • Neutrobyte

      October 29th, 2020 - 7:12pm

I don’t for a second believe this epic-fail of Southern Distribution has anything to do with Sales, or who happens to live in a given area! There are MORE branches void of stock than have actually received any of the October Wave sets! You’re talking about Cardiff, South Wales, London, East Anglia, the WHOLE of the South-Of-England below Bristol! Over 100 branches have been affected, and aside from a smattering of HOTD #3 & #4 to random stores (here in Suffolk they went out to Stowmarket and Lowestoft for some unexplained reason), there’s been absolutely nothing from Southern Distribution for an entire month! Whilst at the other end of the equation, the North has gotten everything, and keep getting replenished. IF it’s true that Southern Distribution haven’t been receiving stock from Character Options, then WHY are Northern Distribution still getting everything? This madness didn’t happen with the last 2 waves, so why has it happened now? And what’s going to happen with the release of the Remembrance and Witches Familiar sets?

Two stores still haven’t had the first wave either.
Not happy about how they have been distributed as I asked staff at all the stores and they all said that they ARE NOT due to have anymore Doctor Who mechandise delivered until after the new year.
Stores were, Bridgwater, Clevedon, x2 Weston-super-Mare and Cribbs Causeway Bristol.
