B&M 2024 History of the Daleks Set #19

Character Options’ Christmas Doctor Who new offering for B & M stores unveiled

The new sets will make the perfect gifts for fans of the legendary Time Lord

Just in time for the big day and due to be at B & M Stores throughout the UK, Character Options is proud to reveal two new Doctor Who figure sets. Each comes in the ubiquitous celebration packaging designed with the fan collector in mind.

The first set is a trio of 5.5” (14cm) scale figures entitled: Friends & Foes of the Doctor.

This set comprises Professor River Song as seen in the 2010 episode The Pandorica Opens, the Cyberman with Heavy Weapons as seen in the 2011 episode A Good Man Goes to War, and the Gold Clockwork Droid from the 2006 episode The Girl in the Fireplace.

The River Song figure comes decorated in her black ‘stealth’ outfit briefly seen in the part where she is breaking into Liz 10’s secret archive to locate a Vincent Van Gogh painting. She sports a revised head sculpt with ponytail which appeared in that scene, and completing the outfit is her utility belt and holster with detachable blaster accessory.

The Cyberman is presented in the standard livery of a silvered armour over darker silver joints and come with the somewhat incongruous ‘Reaper’ heavy blaster weapon seen in this episode while the ‘Gold’ Clockwork Droid is a variant never released before but has as usual the removable mask with hair, arm mounted utility weapon, and the internal clockwork parts as seen inside the transparent clear head.

The next new set is the 19th in the history of the eminently popular History of the Daleks series.

This new chapter for the series is a celebration of black and bronze and features Daleks from the 2005 episode featuring the Ninth Doctor called Parting of the Ways.

In the episode, Rose Tyler has been captured by the Daleks and the Doctor must do some fancy flying to find her. Emerging from the TARDIS, he taunts the Daleks to find out information and is staggered to find them worshipful of something or someone. The source of this enthral is revealed to be the self-proclaimed ‘Emperor of the Daleks’, a survivor of the Time War. This set includes a black and bronze Imperial Guard Dalek and a fully bronze Dalek – all part of the massive Dalek army that has been created by the Emperor over the centuries.

The two new Doctor Who sets will be available from B & M Stores from early December.

I have been round all four of my local B & M Stores since December & the start of January attempting to find these two sets with no success and there is no point calling each store as the recorded message is always the same stating we are unable to check stock on the shelves so you have to waste time and petrol on the off chance that you will be successfull in finding them

Members of the B&M figure group help each other out and get sets for them. Cost price with only the postage on top.

These sets have honestly been frustrating to find…and it got worse with the distribution issue which happened in December. A similar problem has happened before in Autumn of 2020.

I wish you the best of luck in finding the sets though

Bizarelly here in east Lancs they have been elusive. I picked a friends set up but haven’t seen the variant or any Daleks. they have been reported so whether they just got one box and it sold I’m not sure. Resurrection sets and Davros are still around. I’m not that bothered if I don’t get any others but it is strange!

It said early December so far I’ve looked at the B&M in Swansea, Barry and Cardiff and yet no daleks. This is a shame cuz I have been at the same B&Ms 6 times this month and still nothing… Utter shame

Luckily ebay is my friend! Sorted out both the Claw Arm Dalek Variant & a Cyber Leader Variant, so happy now that it is all sorted out for another year.

That’s what I wanted out of the Four sets. (Claw Arm Dalek/Cyberleader).
Radburn, did you get any of the New Titan Vinyl Figurines from Forbidden Planet.
I asked on the Correct Thread but I’m not sure if you saw the Comment?

I’ll answer you here about the Vinyls. As far as I know the Order for these is still viable, unless FP tell’s us it’s not & cancels those Orders. I’m of the understanding that it is serious Manufacturer’s Delays (I think that is just a blanket excuse) but will myself contact FP in Jan 2025 to get some sort of answer? I will update on the two Vinyls threads when I find out more.

Thanks Radburn. I’m in the Dark as much as anyone. All I know is they just keep putting back the release dates (But with no reason why). A Disclaimer on the Correct Forbidden Planet pages would be nice.

Went to a new B&M in Alnwick yesterday, they had both new sets in, about 4 of each. I got one of the Dalek sets.

I honestly don’t think they get new sets in until any shelf-warmers are gone. I suspect B&M’s stock system doesn’t treat them as separate, just as “Doctor Who stuff”. So if a shelf is full of Davros & HOTD 18, then they won’t get any HOTD 19 etc until they’re gone.
