B&M 2024 History of the Daleks Set 19
Character Options’ Christmas Doctor Who new offering for B & M stores unveiled
The new sets will make the perfect gifts for fans of the legendary Time Lord
Just in time for the big day and due to be at B & M Stores throughout the UK, Character Options is proud to reveal two new Doctor Who figure sets. Each comes in the ubiquitous celebration packaging designed with the fan collector in mind.
The first set is a trio of 5.5” (14cm) scale figures entitled: Friends & Foes of the Doctor.
This set comprises Professor River Song as seen in the 2010 episode The Pandorica Opens, the Cyberman with Heavy Weapons as seen in the 2011 episode A Good Man Goes to War, and the Gold Clockwork Droid from the 2006 episode The Girl in the Fireplace.
The River Song figure comes decorated in her black ‘stealth’ outfit briefly seen in the part where she is breaking into Liz 10’s secret archive to locate a Vincent Van Gogh painting. She sports a revised head sculpt with ponytail which appeared in that scene, and completing the outfit is her utility belt and holster with detachable blaster accessory.
The Cyberman is presented in the standard livery of a silvered armour over darker silver joints and come with the somewhat incongruous ‘Reaper’ heavy blaster weapon seen in this episode while the ‘Gold’ Clockwork Droid is a variant never released before but has as usual the removable mask with hair, arm mounted utility weapon, and the internal clockwork parts as seen inside the transparent clear head.
The next new set is the 19th in the history of the eminently popular History of the Daleks series.
This new chapter for the series is a celebration of black and bronze and features Daleks from the 2005 episode featuring the Ninth Doctor called Parting of the Ways.
In the episode, Rose Tyler has been captured by the Daleks and the Doctor must do some fancy flying to find her. Emerging from the TARDIS, he taunts the Daleks to find out information and is staggered to find them worshipful of something or someone. The source of this enthral is revealed to be the self-proclaimed ‘Emperor of the Daleks’, a survivor of the Time War. This set includes a black and bronze Imperial Guard Dalek
and a fully bronze Dalek – all part of the massive Dalek army that has been created by the Emperor over the centuries.
The two new Doctor Who sets will be available from B & M Stores from early December.

November 21st, 2024 - 7:06pmThis was the set I was most excited for, but this is a pass from me. I get these are budget sets, but they’ve been significantly reduced since last year, least they could do is give the Guard Dalek the one thing it needs to be accurate (and interesting), a saw arm. SO MUCH potential with this story and they really wasted it tbh. Why a standard bronze Dalek? There’s PLENTY of stories where they HAVE to do that later down the line due to lack of options. Instead they waste it on one of the few Dalek stories where they have an abundance of choices???? I’m reading now that it’s a chase variant swapping with an Assault Dalek, but why include the standard drone at all!? Bizarre.

November 21st, 2024 - 7:11pmI know I’m being harsh but they’re going to have a lot of trouble doing future sets in this series if they have to include a bronze drone Dalek in THIS set lmao.

November 21st, 2024 - 5:54pmWhen it says ‘bronze’, will that be different from the ‘gold’ one from HOTD 16/17?
Alan
November 21st, 2024 - 7:02pmYes, HOTD 16 had the gold band around it’s midsection (only seen on a bronze dalek in the episode Dalek) and had oil streaks down it’s side.
The new ones are clean and the revised design without the gold band seen here on the guard.

November 21st, 2024 - 5:24pmWhat’s new about these daleks? They look the same as previous releases.
daz
November 21st, 2024 - 5:45pmYou’ll be saying this for the next 5 years then as bronze daleks have been a thing for nearly every dalek story in NuWho.

November 21st, 2024 - 4:27pmI don’t have the space to collect the new series figures but I really like the updated molds for the RTD bronze daleks and the new river and cyberleader hopefully there’s a variant with a normal cyberman in there with possibly a different colour clock work droid and another river song variant
Drwhofan08
November 21st, 2024 - 4:38pmThere is
The Destroyer of Worlds
November 21st, 2024 - 5:19pmThere’s a Cyberman variant without the Cyberleader black tubes. There’s also a variant of this Dalek set of an Assault Claw Dalek instead of the regular bronze dalek.
The DR.
November 21st, 2024 - 5:20pmI think there’s a Leader and Normal Cyberman Variants in this set.
