New stock found at the Anglia Retail Park branch in Ipswich (photo has been sent to booboo).
Both versions of the Five Doctors set, and a few of the HOTD #8 set, as well as plenty Sensorites, Key Of Marinus and at least one HOTD #5. Hilariously the Dalek bobble heads sets are not selling (the Warren Heath branch has no new sets but a LOT of bobble heads sets).

The Five Doctors set is on the top-right of the photo (both versions). I went for the normal version as I previously created a custom Cyberleader out of an acquired Davison Era Cyberman last year. There were no Hartnell Tardis sets or Earthshock sets at either the Anglia Retail Park or Warren Heath branches today (the latter had nothing new out yet). I was lucky enough to get the only remaining HOTD #7 as well as a HOTD #8 and Five Doctors sets.

Well, I have to pinch myself that the new sets are appearing in stores in the south first!! They were in my store the first day they were being reported, which is unheard of. It was our turn to get them early though lol, though I never thought it would happen.
First Doctor TARDIS very nice to have, though not hitting me quite as much as I thought it would. Loving the Dalek sets as usual, especially the flip top Planet Daleks! Well impressed by the Five Doctors set, and am going to delay getting the Earthshock set as it is my least favourite.

      Exeter Digby store.
There was a 50%/50% cyberleader and cyberman mix in the sets. I’ve got the cyberman set this time as I prefer it, and will get the cyberleader next time.

Dave if u r wakefield. You could try featherstone which is whwre i got mine first last wave. Alternatively try calling castleford. If you fancy a ride a little further try stairfoot roundabout in barnsley They usually stock early. Take some photos if you find them especially the two cyber variants in the five doctors set. And better luck this time. Seems like its all turn around this wave with the south getting their batches first.

No point calling them up, seems there’s no way to get through to a human being, seems they’re intent on wasting your journey. Times like this I wish I had Zoe to feed the machine a paradox.

That’s a question for the BBC they stamp and approve everything, besides they are intended as quirky retro-ish novelty items just like others have done in past, bif pang pow for example, accuracy has never really come into it.

I hate to nitpick, but aren’t the hinges on the Planet Of The Daleks sets facing the wrong way? I always thought a Dalek casing’s lid opened facing forward, not back.

    • Doc

      December 3rd, 2021 - 9:05pm

But, then the hinges would be at the front of the dome and it would be visible and can disrupt the overall look of that specific piece. So, maybe that’s why the hinges are at the back.

    • David Minter

      December 4th, 2021 - 1:16am

I always did think it was wrong for the casings to open facing forward, but that seemed to be the way it was. At least in The Daleks, if I remember correctly.

Oh well I suppose I’ll be looking for those sets on ebay where people are satisfied to make around £10 a set profit – after all I could easily spend that much in bus fares searching for them and with the added nuisance of covid restrictions or the lack of them being applied properly I think an ebay purchase could be a better option. Those planet of the dalek individuals are the first daleks Ive wanted to actually build a small squad of.

Thats part of the fun. Turning into the toy aisle and finding them staring right at you and rushing to checkout after inspecting and snapping up the best ones. And thats 2 five doctors sets for cyberman/leader. Wont be making many trips anyway unless there is concrete proof there in store. Nothing worse than wasted trips. Ebays a very last resort.
