With the release of this set the Season 12 TARDIS Team is complete at last. Hot on the heels of Harry Sullivans release last year we now have a full set of three companions of the Fourth Doctor.
First up is Sarah Jane Smith as seen in 1975’s ‘Genesis of the Daleks’ and ‘Revenge of the Cybermen’ stories. Then we follow this with Season 16’s Time Lord companion Romanadvoratrelundar or Romana. She’s presented as seen in the 1978 story ‘The Pirate Planet’. Completing the line up fort this set is the second incarnation of Romana as seen in 1979’s Season 17 story ‘Destiny of the Daleks’.
All figures are 5.5 inch scale and are articulated. As usual they come presented in heritage Doctor Who brand packaging.

July 13th, 2020 - 10:00pmAnyone else really hate the outfits? Sarah Jane and Romana 1 should be swapped because it isn’t accurate, especially the latter. Isn’t there any others they could’ve chosen to match an outfit like a Jo Grant figure or something? It’s ashame because I really want these characters but can’t justify the price for poor quality. Would rather wait for a variant.

July 13th, 2020 - 10:41pmI’m not sure that’s completely fair. They are doing the best they can with such limited resources, and we should be grateful the line is continuing at all. I agree Romana 1 is not the best, but all her outfits are flamboyant and especially difficult to do if you can practically afford to repaint bodies. The Sarah Jane though is great, yes the jacket is closed but is that SUCH a big deal, just imagine that she closed it once, and I don’t’ think swapping it with the Romana body would have helped if even possible, it’s a very different type of jacket.
Personally I don’t think there will be many variants. The focus seems to be to produce as many new characters as possible in the most feasible outfit to represent. They are putting a lot of emphasis on companions this year with 7 new heads. If they do well, I think they’ll move onto 60s and 80s companions, and if they don’t do well enough, they’ll probably avoid companions for a while.
NB. regarding price they work out to about £6.77 each, which is far cheaper than typical single releases, which in the last decade have been anything from £10.99 up.

June 25th, 2020 - 10:09pmSay we get a 5th doctor companion set of adric, nyssa and tegan, that would leave Liz Shaw, Turlough and Mel to do aside from 60s era companions. In order to get these 3 companions without having it to be era specific, do you think character could do an affectionately titled “ultimate gingers” set as it could cover 3 different doctors’ eras in one set, essentially meaning we could get all major companions from 70 to 89 in a total of only 2 sets after this years sets. This was one of those randomly out of nowhere thoughts but i thought i’d share it

I hope we do get all the sets and I know there’s a limited budget and we’re lucky to get anything but would prefer a more accurate figure considering the prices.

June 20th, 2020 - 5:20pmI really want to have multiple romana 2 heads as i’d love to use a Gelth zombie body to do either a custom full circle variant (so i have a season 18 variant to go with tom) or a shada variant to go with the tardis set, but i also have a spare sarah jane adventures figure (the one used for her destiny outfit) that i want to paint for a rough horns of nimon variant!

June 18th, 2020 - 10:52amComparatively speaking it is a disappointment, but maybe with the budgets they needed to focus costs on the head sculpt, and with that now done they can do a different body in a future wave.
Also, remember the painted boots for the B&M Talons figure, then a much better figure was release a few months later – maybe, just maybe we’ll see something like that around the jacket?

June 16th, 2020 - 2:00pmIf they could do variants, perhaps a pyramids or mandragora Sarah Jane using a gelth zombie body, or a time warrior variant using her original school reunion body, a romana 1 using a jabe figure (is the chest a separate piece, if so resculpt it to remove the wood effect?) for her armageddon factor white dress (the hair sculpt seems to match that story more than her pirate planet hair) and perhaps a shada romana 2 using the gelth zombie body or reuse the same sja body for a horns of nimon variant.

I,m not wasting hours of travelling on some fruitless search for something that is unlikely to be on the shelves. You ought to beable to go into any one store and ask them to reserve and order to store once stock starts flowing. Thats the only option i can think of for now.
