Doctor Who B&M Exclusive 2019 8th Doctor / Dalek Set

Character Options presents a set of three unique Doctor & Dalek Twin Packs, inspired by the Doctor Who audio series from Big Finish.
Sets will be available in B&M stores from Late August
This includes a brand new take on the Eighth Doctor, plus the Dalek Interrogator Prime. The two additional Doctor and Daleks sets to be released from this range will feature the Seventh and War Doctors respectively.
There will be a second and much more limited version of each set with slight variations and exclusive to Big Finish. These will arrive shortly after the B&M stock and there will only be 150 of each.
Images shown here are of the mass market B&M Sets. The will be 1000’s of these available in stores
Both the B&M set and the Big Finish sets are marked as Limited Editions.
Following the announcement earlier in June of this summer’s Big Finish-inspired Doctor Who merchandise from Character Options, a first preview image has been made available as a taste of what is to come.
The image released is that of the Eighth Doctor and Dalek set featuring a new version of the Doctor action figure in his ‘Dark Eyes’ inspired costume, along with Interrogator Dalek.
Steve Berry, Head of Marketing at Big Finish said: “We are delighted to be working with Character Options on this project and cannot wait to see the items in store. Since the news broke that the sets will soon be available, we have been inundated with requests for an image. We hope that this small taste will add to the excitement of the Character Options online reveal taking place in July.”
The new Big Finish items will be all part of a wider line-up of Character Options Doctor Who figures and accessories coming to B&M retail stores this summer.
Al Dewar, Creative Director at Character Options commented: “As you can imagine we’ve been keeping this inventive collaboration under wraps for a while so it’s fantastic to be able to release this first image of these unique additional sets to the B&M store range. As announced previously we plan to do a full unveiling live, which will take place ‘unboxing style’ on Character Options’ own You Tube channel in July; details of the time and date will be announced soon.”

August 19th, 2019 - 3:11pmBooboo, any rumours when the figures are coming out yet? I’ve been trying to get ahold of B&M all morning and every time the line is busy. I heard rumours that the figures are to be released on the 20th. Is that likely? Or when they say ‘end of August’, do they literally mean the last one or two days of the month?

August 6th, 2019 - 10:46amThe last lot of B&M exclusives never reached or even appeared in my local branch, spent months looking for them. I’ve emailed character about possible buying online and mail order but they say “we do not have the stock” , now I find that a little odd considering that they make the sets.

August 6th, 2019 - 11:01amThey are B&M exclusives and stock gets sent straight to them from the factory so Character never do have them a such.
B&M’s (very successful) business model relies on getting people in stores, the don’t sell anything online.
Ask you store manager to get them in, if that fails phone CS are ask the same.
I don’t pretended to know fully how B&M internals work but i see no reason why every branch can’t have some stock.

August 6th, 2019 - 11:54amNormally it’s always the bigger stores that get them and they tend to be on a list. Some stores can be taken off the list to automatically receive these kind of items and don’t know about them till someone requests them. I went in to one store that didn’t have or know of the 4th doctor and TARDIS set earlier in the year until I went in, of course after making them aware they did order a batch in from their main distribution centre. Basically all a store by store thing that not all automatically get the sets, but if you ask they normally can get them in.

August 5th, 2019 - 9:05amright at this time we don’t know and B&M don’t want to tell us, there is also some miss information going around.
Some of the Tardis sets are arriving first, they are probably already here, with the rest to follow same days later with most sets arriving by the end of August.
As soon as stock gets sent out it will be on the front page

August 3rd, 2019 - 6:22pmPart of the deal with B&M was that they could make action figures using pre-existing sculpts, no brand new parts (though retools and evidently new head sculpts are obviously on the card now). Be thankful that we actually are getting Big Finish figures.

Don’t anyone give me guff about it’s a “new McGann mold” (IF it is?), it’s still ANOTHER McGann, not a new figure.
Why not resurrect the Classic TARDIS control room they designed a decade ago?
How about more classic companions? My Hartnell is missing his Granddaughter SO much!
Surely a Kroton, a Quark or a servo robot ain’t so hard to do?
A Lalla Ward wouldn’t go amiss – they could do a nice Season 17 set with 6 different Romana’s in it and a Nimon for good measure….
Which gives me an idea. I’m off to Pulse and Cocktails to buy parts to make my own Erato…

Many daleks would be a repaint, being a variation on colour, and the eighth doctor is different figure from what we’ve had before, so what’s not to like, does exactly what it says on the tin, so to speak. Hopeful a lot more to come.

Yes we would all love to see a classic console room or classic companions but it’s not going to happen and I for one are looking forward to this release the packaging alone is stunning!

July 6th, 2019 - 1:45pmJust had an awful experience at B&M. So I hear my local store won’t be getting the sets until everything is cleared. They’ve got just about 30 revised sets in, on top of the original sets. Great. So anyway, I go in the buy the 11th Doctor set and first of all, there are ‘chavs’ purposely blocking my way, giggling. Anyway, I get to the sets and this old man is getting way to close for comfort, attempting to be interested in what I am. Then, there is only 1 till open with the slowest check out woman I’ve ever seen. Sorry, I know this isn’t that relevant but I’m sick of B&M now. But hey, the set is nice so yay!
