Doctor Who B&M Exclusive 2019 8th Doctor / Dalek Set

Character Options presents a set of three unique Doctor & Dalek Twin Packs, inspired by the Doctor Who audio series from Big Finish.
Sets will be available in B&M stores from Late August
This includes a brand new take on the Eighth Doctor, plus the Dalek Interrogator Prime. The two additional Doctor and Daleks sets to be released from this range will feature the Seventh and War Doctors respectively.
There will be a second and much more limited version of each set with slight variations and exclusive to Big Finish. These will arrive shortly after the B&M stock and there will only be 150 of each.
Images shown here are of the mass market B&M Sets. The will be 1000’s of these available in stores
Both the B&M set and the Big Finish sets are marked as Limited Editions.
Following the announcement earlier in June of this summer’s Big Finish-inspired Doctor Who merchandise from Character Options, a first preview image has been made available as a taste of what is to come.
The image released is that of the Eighth Doctor and Dalek set featuring a new version of the Doctor action figure in his ‘Dark Eyes’ inspired costume, along with Interrogator Dalek.
Steve Berry, Head of Marketing at Big Finish said: “We are delighted to be working with Character Options on this project and cannot wait to see the items in store. Since the news broke that the sets will soon be available, we have been inundated with requests for an image. We hope that this small taste will add to the excitement of the Character Options online reveal taking place in July.”
The new Big Finish items will be all part of a wider line-up of Character Options Doctor Who figures and accessories coming to B&M retail stores this summer.
Al Dewar, Creative Director at Character Options commented: “As you can imagine we’ve been keeping this inventive collaboration under wraps for a while so it’s fantastic to be able to release this first image of these unique additional sets to the B&M store range. As announced previously we plan to do a full unveiling live, which will take place ‘unboxing style’ on Character Options’ own You Tube channel in July; details of the time and date will be announced soon.”

The 8th Dr’s head seems to fit perfectly on the neck joint…coincidence or a slight re-tool to make it fit?

June 28th, 2019 - 10:02amIt’s a bit of a shame they didn’t use a slightly retooled version of the 8th Doctor head included with the original War Doctor figure to represent his appearance from Dark Eyes, rather than his Doom Coalition/Ravenous appearance.
Although, I appreciate it was probably cheaper to use the NOTD headsculpt, rather than having to retool the War Doctor head.

June 28th, 2019 - 9:54amI’ve seen a lot of people claim that the head used for this 8th Doctor variant is new. But surely it’s from the Night of the Doctor figure?
I suppose it could have been retooled to fit the 9th Doctor body, but that doesn’t make it new, right?

June 28th, 2019 - 7:41amThere seems to be a lot of confusion because of the Ltd edition sticker.
Just to be clear, ALL boxes will have this sticker, the B&M set and the Big finish set.
It means both are likely to be a one off run, once gone they are gone.
There will be 1000’s of the B&M version available in stores.
There will be 150 of the “slightly different” Big Finish version available from them online.

I’m on the fence at the moment on this set. Mainly because I got the Red Dalek set years ago and not too fussed on this Daleks paint job. Also the money I save can pay for half a Bluray Season. Decisions decisions…
I do love the box though.

Not sure about the clear plastic corner on this new packaging design, that corner is going to be a bit of a weak spot when it comes to keeping it in mint condition.
On the subject of toys r us, I heard somewhere they might be returning. Possibly as an on-line only retailer?

June 27th, 2019 - 9:00pmThink a lot of us are going to have to make do and resign ourselves with the Band M Versions, which may or may not look far better in hand. It does look great that Dalek. I have Dark Eyes 1-4 on audio Cd and the Time War set of stories but not the Ravenous1- 4 so i know what this set refers but are the others Mcgann/ Dalek duo sets or is those others 6th and War doctor respectively after all?. I wonder.

Yes it may be a repainted 9th Doctor, but to be honest.. i really really love it!!! and the Dalek wow i’m really really excited for that! Thank you Big Finish and Character for making this happen!

June 27th, 2019 - 8:30pmI set my expectations rather low (Thinking Dalek sec (Maybe having a red eye to resemble one from a cover and a NOTD Repaint) so this has blown me away! Hope the weathering is used on all the daleks. Hoping for an imperial dalek with the 7th Doctor and if that’s weathered I’ll be over the moon! 🙂
