Big Finish The Twelfth Doctor Chronicles Volume 01
Available to order from www.bigfinish.com
Twelfth Doctor Chronicles incoming in 2020!
Four new adventures from the era of Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor will be brought to life by Jacob Dudman, due for release from Big Finish in February 2020.
The Doctor Chronicles bring the era of New Series Doctor Who to life, utilising the talents of actor and impressionist, Jacob Dudman. From the era of David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor, to Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor, we’ve marvelled at stories based on the works of Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat. But now we head to the Twelfth Doctor, originally played by Peter Capaldi.
There will be four stories in the first box set of The Twelfth Doctor Chronicles, set for release in February 2020. The first is entitled:
1.1. The Charge of the Night Brigade by David Llewellyn.
The Doctor finds himself in the Crimean War in 1855. There’s a strange sickness stalking the streets of Balaklava and it’s up to the Doctor and Mary Seacole to put a stop to it.
More details on the co-stars and other three adventures will be coming soon.
The new sets of New Series Doctor Who Chronicles are produced by Alfie Shaw. Alfie tells us more, “I am huge fan of the Twelfth Doctor and a chance to create new adventures for him is utterly thrilling. I continue to marvel at the seemingly endless talent of Jacob Dudman and am overjoyed to get the chance to work with him on a boxset. We’ve got four fabulous stories from amazing writers and the Doctor will be joined by some familiar faces along the way. As to who they might be and what they’ll get up to, well, that’s for another day…”.
This isn’t the first time that Jacob Dudman has taken on the mantle of the Twelfth Doctor… you can also hear his uncanny portrayal in Doctor Who Short Trip: Dead Media, available at £2.99 from bigfinish.com.
Plus, the Eleventh Doctor and the Twelfth Doctor will be meeting in May 2020, in Short Trip Regeneration Impossible, coming May 2020.
Doctor Who: The Twelfth Doctor Chronicles available to pre-order now, at £22.99 per CD boxset, or £19.99 on download.

August 20th, 2019 - 7:53pmCan’t they just not do the Twelfth Doctor era until they actually sign up Capaldi?
booboo
August 20th, 2019 - 7:58pmthat’s more like IF they actually sign up Capaldi, its not down to them, but as they have the (probably very expensive) license covering his era they need to get some value from it until such time arrives, if ever.

August 20th, 2019 - 8:18pmThe license is expensive and they need make use of it.

August 20th, 2019 - 9:45amJacob Dudman is a very talented and very handsome impressionist and I respect you loads but…..I wish the actors would actually come back to voice their own parts. I wish I was someone who could see past the voice but it just takes me out of it too much

August 19th, 2019 - 10:50pmNothing against the people who work hard on these but impersonators just take me out of the story. In my head, I just know it isn’t the proper actor.

August 19th, 2019 - 8:42pmWhy Jacob Dudman. I mean he’s a bit young to play The Twelfth Doctor. And his impression isn’t the best. I think someone else should play. But I am not intrested so it’s just my opinion.

August 19th, 2019 - 8:31pmI can get behind impressionists being used when the original actors are no longer with us, but when both Peter Capaldi and Matt Smith have said they might consider doing Big Finish audios one day., I’d rather wait for that.

August 19th, 2019 - 8:30pmCan’t wait for these 12 is my fave…. I would love capaldi to return …but Jacob does a cracking job so glad he’s on board at big finish 🙂

August 19th, 2019 - 4:19pmPeople who find impersonators annoying often say ‘They sound nothing like them’ to which they would say ‘Well could you do better?.’ Theres a bit of resentment and jealousy. Some are good and others not so good. For me i don,t think Jon culshaws impression of Tom Baker is uncanny but I still find some of his other impersonations are spot on and funny.

August 19th, 2019 - 6:24pmDon’t think that is true, I’m not resentful or jealous, just don’t see the point of these, far enough if it was the original actors, but I feel these could just be done as companion chronicles or just audio stories without the impersonation. And I know they have production costs but charging the same as it would for the proper actor to appear, it’s a bit pricey.

August 19th, 2019 - 8:27pmI was speaking generally regarding some peoples attitudes towards impersonators, how the impersonator might respond and a few reasons i think certain people just don,t like them. You don,t see the point in them but I,m sure there is a following to fill the gap till Big Finish get the licence and the more desired original. My comments weren,t in response to yours. I would have included in your reply box otherwise.

August 19th, 2019 - 1:25pmSame here, I only tend to get the full cast or companion chronicle ones just because of personal preference. So hoping in a few years Capaldi can be persuaded back (he’s spoken quite positively of big finish in the past.) Maybe a boxset set just after THORS with Alex Kingston or one with Pearl Mackie.

August 19th, 2019 - 12:24pmThey don’t have the licence to do the current Doctor

August 19th, 2019 - 12:26pmI believe, if I’m not mistaken, that Big Finish doesn’t have the proper licence yet, because it was only in 2015 that Big Finish were given licence to use characters and monsters from the new series, so we’ll have to see…

August 19th, 2019 - 1:55pmI don’t think they’d be allowed to work with the current Doctor until they’ve left the role on the show itself. Either way; while I admire Jake, I’m not sure about this. I heard a brief example of his Peter Capaldi impression and it just doesn’t feel as realistic as his others. Should have got the impressionist Christopher in for this, his impression of Peter is fantastic.

August 20th, 2019 - 4:14pmI think the terms of the contract is that they can only go up to and including the most recent regeneration story as when Capaldi was in the role they could only go up to Time of the Doctor and now Jodie is in the role they can only go up to Twice Upon a Time both of which were/are the most recent regeneration stories
