Available to order from www.bigfinish.com

The Protectors of Time for International Women’s Day

The Eighth of March is back! Three new audio adventures bring together a team of powerful women from the Who-niverse, in a new box set due to be released on International Women’s Day.

The Eighth of March: Protectors of Time comprises three separate stories, featuring the Doctor’s daughter, Jenny (Georgia Tennant), the mischievous socialite and cat-burglar, Lady Christina de Souza (Michelle Ryan), and Time Lady and custodian of K-9, Romana (Lalla Ward).

Also along for the ride are Rani Chandra (Anjli Mohindra), tenacious protégé of Sarah Jane Smith, investigating strange climate changes with the Third Doctor’s companion, Jo Jones (Katy Manning), and diligent UNIT mastermind, Jac (Jaye Griffiths).

The Eighth of March: Protectors of Time is now available to pre-order on collector’s edition CD (for just £19.99) or digital download (for just £16.99), exclusively at bigfinish.com.

Scattered through time and space, many women have crossed paths with the Doctor. Some were fellow TARDIS travellers, some were allies defending the Earth, and one was the Doctor’s daughter…

Crossing the bounds of E-Space, from a mysterious space-station to a London bus, and from the Amazon to the Moon, this 8th of March, three very different adventures unfold.

The three standalone stories in this exclusive box set are:

Stolen Futures by Lizbeth Myles

Romana and K-9 have stayed in E-Space to help an ancient and noble people, freed from their shackles.

But first they must heal divisions in the ranks, and those who see a very different future for the Tharil race…

Prism by Abigail Burdess

Lady Christina de Souza is crashing an exclusive party in search of a priceless diamond. Out in deep space, time travellers Jenny and Noah collide with a strange diamond-shaped vessel.

What is Prism? And what does it want with the Earth?

Turn of the Tides by Nina Millns

In the footsteps of Sarah Jane Smith, Rani Chandra is investigating strange weather phenomena, calling on an old friend for help –Jo Jones!

But UNIT is also on the case, led by science officer Jac. Soon all three women will be on a mission to the Moon…

Producer Emma Haigh said: “I’m so pleased to be bringing back our exclusive Eighth of March series for 2022. The three stories see some brilliant new partnerships working together for the first time and our stellar female actors, writers and directors take us on unique adventures whilst tackling some of the big issues of today.”

The Eighth of March: Protectors of Time is available to own as a 3CD collector’s edition box set (+ download, for just £19.99) or digital download only (for just £16.99) exclusively from the Big Finish website.

Big Finish listeners can save money by pre-ordering the bundle containing both volumes of The Eighth of March series, for just £45 (for the collector’s edition CD + download) or £40 (for the digital download only).

So happy to see Rani back… Grew up with the character on SJA and can’t wait to check in with her. She was a stand out on the show and a Great way to honour Sarah Jane and Elizabeth Sladen

Billie has washed her hands of who – including big finish
Karen – on Marvel money and exclusivity agreements so nope
Freema – whilst has done 2 cds, doubt she would jump at this
India – more likely to appear with other “classics”
Sarah Jane – whilst rani is here, doubt we will ever hear a “modern sjs”
Catherine T – maybe but doubtful, would want her to be with 10 or continue her spin off
Bill Potts – actress again has all but moved away from who, like capaldi
Jackie – cant see a point, shes made appearances but nothing solid

Would rather see unique combos like ” female companions vs female villain’s”
      1. Older Nyssa with Missy (nyssa being post war master encounter)
      2. Older Susan with yvonne hartman (pre timewar susan)
      3. Zoe & Liz shaw vs empress of the racnoss

Just throw together different eras and see who they would react
