The Eighth Doctor heads deeper into the Time War
Paul McGann, Emma Campbell Jones and Sonny McGann star in Time War Uncharted: Reflections, a brand-new box set of full-cast audio drama due for release in October.
The last time we encountered the Time War era version of the Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann), in 2023’s box set Cass, he was travelling with his great grandson Alex (Sonny McGann) and starship pilot Cass Fermazzi (Emma Campbell-Jones) – until Cass became lost in time and space.
The story continues in Time War Uncharted: Reflections, the first in a new series of box sets in which the currrently separated time travellers all find themselves thrust further into the inescapable horrors of the Last Great Time War.
The Doctor and his great-grandson Alex have been reunited amid the Time War. Splintered timelines draw them ever closer to another fellow traveller. Does Cass’s destiny lie in the TARDIS?
As the Time War rages, the Doctor enters uncharted territory – where any ‘friends’ they meet might not be what they seem…
Listeners may remember Cass from her debut appearance in 2013 TV minisode The Night of the Doctor, in which she met the Eighth Doctor shortly before his regeneration. Time War Uncharted will bring the two of them ever closer to that fateful final meeting – though, due to events yet to be revealed, it will seem to be their first.

May 24th, 2024 - 2:16pmPersonally love this series, so I glad it’s carrying on. 8 is my favourite, so more of him in any series and in any form is always a must for me. A lack of Daleks on the cover and in the synopsis makes it look like it’s going in a different direction to most of the other stories. A fresh take is needed, as much as I’ve enjoyed this series so far, a change or pace and direction was going to be needed at some point, so I’m glad that it’s done that before it boring for me.

May 23rd, 2024 - 3:34pmI was under the impression that the 8th Doctor Time War range would only include and end with the initial run of four boxsets. They were announced as a prequel to the at-the-time current War Doctor John Hurt range. Fatigue has definitely set in for me and I only got into big finish via Only the Monstrous. That War Doctor range is still the best the company have done with the Time War for me. For some reason the 8th Doctor range always felt a bit flat.

May 24th, 2024 - 4:26pmIf you listen to a certain story, it has been explained that the 8th Doctor has lost most of his memory of the time war (by choice), so that he has the will to keep going.
The audios and TV have also explained that time during the war was CONSTANTLY being altered and undone so memory is lost, even the time Lords were effected.
We also have a 11th doctor audio that sees the actions of 8 but 11 has no memory of it
