June 3rd, 2018 - 12:30amApparently when they were planning the storylines, it hadn’t been cancelled yet. Hence these are set during series 1.
Jack
June 8th, 2018 - 8:21amThese are actually set during Series 1 because Patrick Ness didn’t give permission for it to continue as Series 2. But they could have been planned before it was cancelled.

June 8th, 2018 - 12:18pmI think the thing about the reason being it not having been cancelled yet came from Nick Briggs on the Big Finish podcast itself?
But I suppose Ness would have been the one to refuse permission either way. Out of interest, where did you hear it?

June 1st, 2018 - 5:18pmSo great to see this series return via Big Finish. It deserved more recognition than it received. If only they’d made it Clara Oswald’s Class and set it during Series 8, then the series might have been a success.

June 2nd, 2018 - 2:14amJenna Coleman would not have done a BBC 3 series over the chance to be ‘Victoria’ any day.
The Outcast
June 2nd, 2018 - 3:13amYeah, Anonymous is right, that certainly wouldn’t have happened.
FUN FACT: According to what I’ve heard (this could be false) there were originally two main ideas for what the Class spin-off was going to be. The first was what we got, a bunch of kids in a school fighting monsters. The second idea was a Clara and Ashildr spin-off. Obviously, they realised that the second option would be nigh impossible to organise though, so went with the first.

June 2nd, 2018 - 5:29pm@Anonymous Then they should have introduced the Class characters in a Series 9 episode, as a backdoor pilot for the spin-off. Miss Quill could have been the mayor of the trap street instead of Ashildr perhaps, or maybe a couple of the students could have appeared during the school scenes at the beginning of The Magician’s Apprentice.

June 3rd, 2018 - 1:52pmGreat idea, I would have rather had that as a an episode in series 9 instead of sleep no more,

June 1st, 2018 - 4:34pmLook, I liked Class
It was ok
The first two episodes were good
I honestly have no idea how these will fit into the show
Every episode led into each other
But I will be buying
I hope for a continuation

May 31st, 2018 - 9:48amBig Finish to the rescue again. I do wonder how popular these will be though – I really struggled with this show but I am going to be diplomatic and put that down to me being an older fan. The show was obviously aimed at the YA market so I am curious how popular it was amongst that set of fans.
Oddly enough, I had no problem with SJA even though it was aimed at the CBBC market – in fact it was a great show. I also really struggled with Torchwood too – too many adult jokes etc. Probably says more about me than the shows but I do think that Class and Torchwood suffered from poor production but thats one thing that Big Finish will be able to improve on.

May 31st, 2018 - 10:07amI actually enjoyed much of it but it got a bit repetitive
I see Class as a failed experiment to be honest
SJA was brilliant from start to finish for me, I feel Torchwood fell part after Children of Earth

May 31st, 2018 - 9:42amWhy only 500? To see if they sell well?

May 31st, 2018 - 9:57amI imagine most of the audience for this release will be people who download only. It’s a more common medium than CD, especially with the younger demographic. And we all know how its getting more and more expensive to produce the CDs so makes perfect sense!

May 31st, 2018 - 7:26pmI assume a bit of to see how well it sells, most of the fans not having actual jobs and it not being something lots of people will buy a physical copy off

May 31st, 2018 - 8:20pmPerhaps people are starting to run out of room for all these releases…
