According to The Model Unit’s Facebook page (accompanied by this cover image):
“We’re delighted to have been able to help out our friends at Big Finish Productions by providing images of the TARDIS miniature recently used for the effects filming on ‘Doctor Who: Shada 2017’.”

Interest I’ve just noticed this series is called ‘The Syndicate Masterplan’ does this mean we will have a story arc this season; also noticed the man above K9 is wearing a similar uniform to Mavic Chen

Yes, the two boxsets are to form a single arc. It’s also why Series 8B will be coming out just one month later, February 2018.

Season 1 of the 4DAs is on Spotify and has been broadcast multiple times on Radio 4 extra.

P.S. Apologies meant to say that Tom Baker will have done more audio adventures for Big Finish than television stories when he played the doctor on screen ? Tom.

Quite possibly, although obviously the audio stories are half the length.
I believe they also record his stories a few years in advance (from what I gather Tom’s very keen, I can imagine it pleases him a lot to know that fans can enjoy new fourth Doctor stories for years after he is able to record them). I think he lives quite close to a recording studio and looking at his IMDB all of what he has done in recent years is audio/voiceover work and he rarely does conventions, so they can easily schedule him.
I reckon they could be recording a few series at a time, with each companion recording a different series so that they can get Tom in whenever his companions are free, meaning that he may well exceed his individual TV episode count as well – I wouldn’t be surprised if they have half recorded series with Leela, Ann, Romana and Adric ready to be announced as soon as they are finished in studio.

I have to admit that I will always enjoy listening to Tom Baker’s audio adventures as the 4th doctor as he is and always will be the best dr who. Am I right in thinking that Tom Baker has now recorded more audio adventures (not episodes) as the Doctor for Big Finish as he will have done now 8 seasons as the doctor ? Looking at the cast it is quite an impressive supporting cast ! Yep this is set between the Invasion of Time and the start of the Key to Time season.Looking forward to this 🙂 Tom.

Yes, and actually he has done more…BBC Audio put out 3, 5 Disc audio stories staring Tom and written by Paul Magrs which in my opinion are far superior than Big Finish’s Audios … plus Tom Will be in River Song’s upcoming set making his audio seasons a total of 12. I hear Baker’s End is quite good but I haven’t listened to it yet:)

Must be K9 is in it and no Rommana or Leela.

Yes. Apparently it starts before K9 Mk2 has even been unpacked from his box!

I,m always a bit put off by these new non canonical offshoot companions, as much as i love Tom baker. I know he has a really good working relationship with jane slavin but the main reason i buy into Big Finish personally is down to continuity and would mean having to buy these which i,m sure will be successful but would another dent in my budget if i set it off. They entice you by sticking a monster thats rarely been used if at all and its tempting but i might have to draw the line. I,m going to stick with the louise and lalla releases otherwise it could get out of hand. Am i to assume these stories are set between ‘The Hand of fear’ and ‘The deadly Assassin?

      Who says they’re non-canonical?

It’s Doctor Who, canon doesn’t come into it.

By non canonical, I,m referring to the fact that why,ll they may be suited to the Big Finish audio adventures they are optional whether you consider them a tie in to the Tv series or as unseen adventures. I buy what ‘I’ think is a continuation or accompaniment to the former. Each to his/her own. If you can afford to buy them all, all well and good.

Impressive Booboo, you have the picture up before Big Finish.

I have just finished the 7A box set and The of Kaldor was a truly stunning audio.

I am trying to place where this would be set. Presumably post Leela and pre season 18 judging by the scarf.

Your correct about the time placement. As you can see, K9 is in it, so it can’t be before Leela has joined the TARDIS and it can’t be after Romana has left, so it can only be post-Leela and pre-Romana.
