BIG Chief Studios Ltd. announced a licensing deal with BBC Worldwide to produce a range of high-end collector 1:6 scale figures and 1:4 scale mixed media statues, based on the flagship TV series Doctor Who. The agreement includes rights for both the current series starring Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor and the classic series’, from the very first Doctor William Hartnell, through to David Tennant.

Both figures will be fully articulated for maximum poseability and will feature authentic hand-painted character portraits, finely tailored costuming, signature accessories and themed display bases. I may have posted this before, but It would be cool if BC released a TARDIS Console because you could connect all the floor bases together and have the Console in the middle.

I am assuming their technical delays with our service provider will be resolved by 11.11, they were only expecting the website itself to be down for a short time but its still dead

In the Forbidden Planet International catalgoue they confirm more figures are coming next year but no date was given.

Although they did say that Amy Pond and The Fourth Doctor were two of them.

they released the pre order for the signature edition today and there website is dead

      November 11th, 2011 - 5:33pm

It’s probablly an error caused by the update happening that’s corrupted the whole website.

It should probablly be up again by next week.

      November 11th, 2011 - 5:54pm

I noes! I’ve been trying to order all night with no success. It’s after 1am in my corner of the world, so I’m going to have to call it a night…

I’m not going to be happy if I wake up to find them sold out. You’ll probably hear my screeching travelling all the way to the UK. 😛 🙄

Their email isn’t working either btw.

    • booboo

      November 11th, 2011 - 5:59pm

their whole site is dead and they sent out press release for the big pre order at 11.11. am sat 13th (or 24 hours earlier for those who registered)

    • Mels

      November 12th, 2011 - 1:14am

Website is up, but … still keep getting a “Forbidden
You do not have permission to access this document.” message when clicking the preorder link.

      Very frustrating.

      November 12th, 2011 - 1:23am

      I’m still getting

“The site you have requested does not exist on this server”

    • Mels

      November 12th, 2011 - 1:27am

Wow, that’s strange! I’m getting the website no problems at all now. (The main page is currently titled “Home – Andrew” for some reason though lol!)

But the emailed preorder page doesn’t work.. and their email doesn’t work still either.

Weird that I can get to the main page though.

      November 12th, 2011 - 1:34am

your Internet service provider has picked up the new server, when you change servers it can take a while – we did it a while ago and it took 2 days in some cases – i hope big Chief realise this

    • Mels

      November 12th, 2011 - 1:37am

My ISP did something right for a change?

      *Stares blankly for a while*

I guess stranger things have happened! 😛

Not that it helps me at all, as I still can’t order anything… I just get to stare longingly at the pics on the website.

    • booboo

      November 12th, 2011 - 1:40am

I’m hoping all goes well for them, just hope come tomorrow everyones ISP’s have caught up

    • Alex

      November 12th, 2011 - 1:53am

Regarding the pre-order – The button won’t work to order until the pre order goes live on Sat 12th at 11.11am UK time. They’ve mentioned on their facebook page that a new site is coming as well so I guess they’re working on it at the moment!?!

    • booboo

      November 12th, 2011 - 1:59am

what i dont understand is that they are giving the impression that anyone will be able to order both the ltd edition and signature edition them from 11.11 tomorrow as on their facebook page but what about those who were suppose to get 24hours to pre order he signature edition by registering before it went live to the masses

    • Mels

      November 12th, 2011 - 5:14am

Yes, we were (advanced notice) supposed to be able to order them now… and everyone else tomorrow.

      *Sigh*

The website has gone down again for me, so I’m back to nothing again too lol.

    • Mels

      November 12th, 2011 - 5:48am

…and the website just came back up again (ordering is still broken though).

Clearly they’re still having a lot of issues, that’s for sure. The best thing for BC would be to delay the release for a few days or until their website is properly sorted. I know they released an email with the dates, but only the ppl who pre-reigistered actually know about it… and I think we’d all understand lol.

At this rate it’s going to be luck and/or location to actually order one, which is going to be unfair to some/all if they sell out quickly.

    • booboo

      November 12th, 2011 - 9:58am

just getting “cannot be found now”, changing servers the day before your big launch is not wise as big problems can occur if doesn’t go right

    • Mels

      November 12th, 2011 - 10:09am

I’m getting the website to load sparodically, and a reasonably long list of various error messages for the preorder link. 😯 It’s gone back to the current favourite ‘forbidden’ message atm. 🙄

Yeah… I think ‘not wise’ sums it up pretty well lol, especially considering the build up to the release of these.
