Anyone who missed out on the limited edition Flux photo card set from Forbidden Planet, there are a few left to order. Had an e-mail to say that stock hasn’t arrived so I am assuming these are cancelled pre-orders.

Has anyone else re done the whole Time Lord Victorious saga? I really recommend it if not because im currently re doing it all at the minute and it makes much more sense in story order rather than release order when everything first came out, at first i was following the story order timeline on the website but i noticed some of it didn’t make sense story wise so ive done my own timeline of it all including some of the stuff thats not on the official one and im really enjoying revisiting everything

The Movellan looks good definately be buying it, when they decide when its coming out, the ‘dog’ looks like a good representation – shame the character was ludicrous, the Swarm’s awful.

It’s sad news about the animations. I really though we might get them all animated over the next few years but its looking like abominable is the last one after BBC America pulled the funding. It’s not been officially confirmed yet but it seems to be true.

I wonder what affect this will have on the New Blu-ray limited edition collections.
I know alot of people were hoping they would leave off releasing the First Six Seasons until all the animations were complete.
Will these be still be released but just full of Screenshots etc?

      January 13th, 2022 - 1:59pm

Wouldn’t have minded seeing The Masterplan animated. However I’m sure this isn’t the first time the animations have been ‘cancelled’

    • Book collector

      January 13th, 2022 - 2:02pm

I don’t buy the bluray collections but for those who do presumably they will feature reconstructions where they can. I’m not sure how easy it is to do reconstructions on some of the stories due to a lack of photographs from them (no telesnaps and limited studio photos) so some may even end up being just the audio perhaps? To be honest if they did reconstructions of the stories on DVD with extras I’d buy them but I’m fairly sure the response of a section of fandom would be… shall we leave it at “not measured”…

    • Book collector

      January 13th, 2022 - 2:35pm

The first animation was invasion in 2006. Everyone was very excited about it and expected more… the next animation was 2013’s reign of terror. We then had a run of animations which ended with 2014’s moonbase. Underwater menace had its animation cancelled. We’ve been lucky to have animations from 2016-2022 and if they are now finished then that’s that. I’m hoping they may do menace. Crusade is a hope but a slim one due to costs. If we are lucky the animations may return at a future date but I’m just happy with how many completed stories we have (14 including shada)

      January 14th, 2022 - 4:06pm

Collected all the animations and the news that these will probably end with Abominable Snowmen is really sad. Was really hoping we would see a complete set of classic stories and I always wanted to see Wheel in Space and Masterplan done.

Hi Coleman, Popplewick or anyone who has got the Third Doctor of Thirteenth doctor Big Chief’s. Have any of you managed to get the autograph base for these yet?

    Reply
    • Coleman

      January 11th, 2022 - 4:13pm

Hello Jay, no I havnt had one yet. Big Chief said they would put an extra Base in with my Autograph Tom Baker Figure when he’s sent. (I’m not expecting him anytime soon though). Maybe next year.
There was only a Signature Plaque with the Thirteenth Doctor.
The 3rd Doctor came with a signed photo of Katy Manning.

    • Jay

      January 11th, 2022 - 4:42pm

Thanks Coleman. I didn’t get the Third doctor so thought it was with both figures, I knew the Thirteenth didn’t get one. I might contact BC again just to remind them about that. I have stopped pre-ordering anything now with them as the wait is ridiculous. I hope that your fourth doctor arrives with the base for Thirteen at some point. I’m still awaiting Colin Baker but no confirmed date as yet.

    • Coleman

      January 11th, 2022 - 6:36pm

Yeah Jay, as you know Jodie took about 2 and half years to arrive, Jon was around 2 years.
So I don’t expect Tom or Colin to be arriving anytime soon.
But they did promise to send out plaque bases to everyone that ordered Jodie eventually. (Most likely with their next shipment of 12 inch figures).

      January 11th, 2022 - 8:03pm

I was told I’ll get mine with my 4th Doctor figure so hopefully this year at some point. The Pting is holding the plaque for the meantime

    • Popplewick

      January 12th, 2022 - 1:17pm

I believe I got an autographed Katy Manning pic with my third Dr (havent a clue what Ive done with it though – otherwise I just have a mirrored base which suits me – it matches the one that came with the Hartnell figure.

    • Coleman

      January 12th, 2022 - 3:47pm

Hello Popplewick, the Base that Jay means is a tiny blue base were the metal Signature plaque stands on. Should have been one with The 13th Doctor but it’s looks like they forgot to include it.

    • Jay

      January 12th, 2022 - 4:07pm

Sorry Popplewick, I’ve confused you. I forgot that you didn’t get thirteen and because I didn’t get the Third doctor I assumed that it was an issue with both figures but it’s just the thirteenth.

Ah okay my general state of confusion with the world in general expands daily 😀 I do recall when I queried my missing maggots that they said the new Tom should be out in February – and possibly K9 may be too although my memory is a little foggy over that. I think Im going to have to start making notes.

  • January 11th, 2022 - 3:04pm

There is an unofficial version of shada on lulu that is done in the same size and style as the virgin books 1993 anniversary dalek novels. This might be the only way of getting a target sized (dimensions rather than page count) version of this story on the shelves

    Reply
    • January 12th, 2022 - 1:35pm

Just got my copy of this and it’s a perfect recreation of the 30th anniversary dalek books published in 1993, it finally fills that gap in my target sized collection.

Hello, I have some vintage Doctor Who merchandise for sale, this includes:-

Copies of the original 1960s annuals in good condition.
    Toys from the 1970s.
    Books & Magazines.

Can I please ask if anyone would be interested in purchasing this, or indeed knows of suitable places to sell it? Thanks.

you will always get the biggest exposure on ebay but that involves posting out etc, some forums such as GB have sales section (you need to join) and facebook can often be another channel these days, it depends on rarity/condition really.

Dealers will take the lot but at a fraction of what it maybe worth individually.

You can go onto to ebay and look at sold listings to give you an idea

I suspect Eve of the Daleks will be released at the end of the three specials and will all be together, though that doesn’t always happen but that is what I would do. We usually have a release date by now and it’s usually in late January so that’s my reasoning.

    • Book collector

      January 10th, 2022 - 3:43pm

I’d much rather have them as individual releases than have to wait until November (third special is apparently part of the BBC 100th celebrations in October) to get eve and legend.

Does anyone have a particularly expensive Who item in their collection? I have just seen the Harlequin 50th. Anniversary Gold Ingot on ebay for about £11,000. It’s also probable that it was the only one made (Numbered 1 of 500) before Harlequin folded?

Whilst not in that league, I do have a 13th. Doctor Gold/Silver Earring that was produced by the company that made the one for Jodie Whittaker for her TV role.

Still wish I had bought the 11th. Doctor Steiff Bear – Anyone else have something along those lines?

For me, value of my Who stuff isn’t how expensive/valuable merchandise is, but how much my Dr Who stuff means to me.

For example, I’ve got a hand-written letter/autograph from Patrick Troughton in reply to a letter I wrote to him in 1971.

That’s worth more to me than any £11,000 Gold ingot!

Hi Booboo, i was wondering if you could help with some info..

I believe you own the Eaglemoss Mega K9 figurine? I’ve seen you’ve put your own images up on this site of it.
Do you know if he is In scale with the Mega Doctor figures? Basically, is he a lot shorter than them?
I’m debating if I should get him or not to go alongside the Mega 4th Dr to make a nice display. But if he is Larger, or as large as the Dotor figures then I might pass due to space issues.
