Pyramids Of Mars Figures: Mars Set – Pictures

Action Figures: Pyramids Of Mars: Mars Set

This item is available to order on-line from Forbidden Planet or Forbidden Planet International

Released October £19.99

“Your evil is my good. I am Sutekh the Destroyer. Where I tread, I leave nothing but dust and darkness I find that good!”

In this fourth Doctor adventure, the TARDIS materialises on Earth in the year 1911 inside an old priory owned by Egyptologist Marcus Scarman.

Scarman has been possessed by Sutekh, last survivor of the god-like Osirans, who is held prisoner under a pyramid in Egypt by a signal transmitted from one on Mars. Sutekh desires his freedom and instructs Scarman to construct servicer robots – which look like Egyptian mummies – to build a missile with which to destroy the Martian pyramid. The Doctor foils this plan by blowing up the missile.

He then falls under Sutekh’s control himself and is made to transport Scarman to Mars in the TARDIS. Scarman cuts off the signal but the Doctor, now freed of Sutekh’s influence, realises that there will be a short delay before it stops, rushes back and uses the time control from the TARDIS to move the end of Sutekh’s space-time tunnel into the far future. Sutekh, travelling down the tunnel, is unable to reach the end in his lifetime, and dies.

Contents:
1 x Sutekh with jackal head action figure.
2 x Mars Guardian Robot Mummy action figures.

Just got my despatch notice, slightly unexpected, as it is released in just over a week, so I am slightly confused, but I’m not gonna complain, if it means I get the set early I will be really chuffed. But I don’t think it will arrive that early as delivery is normally 5-9 days based on some of my past orders, but nice to see a classic set out on time and FP keeping up to dat with orders. Has anyone elses set been despatched though?

At last a figure of the Doctor’s most powerful enemy from one of the greatest episodes, if not the single geatest episode. Naturally they’re going to bilk us by making a masked version later when they could have included an extra head, but, as I’ve said before, I have no plans for a boycott. I must give them credit for giving us so many awesome figures: various 4th Doctors, all three Sontarans, all the Cybermen, the emaciated Master, and others…

This is the first of two Pyramids of Mars sets. We are assuming that the other set is a Earth set, because, in the episode, it was set on Mars and Earth.

The other Sutekh variant, and a sarcophagus.

Probably another Mummy or horus or something. If they do the Doctor, I want him to be different from the last Pyramids of Mars Doctor figure. 🙂

    • Eamon Longmann

      September 25th, 2012 - 6:06am

      maybe:

A Sutekh with mask, Sarah Jane in dress and Marcus Scarman.
      and the possible acessories:
      Sutekh: Chair and a Sarcophagus
      Sarah: rifle
Marcus: lantern and swappable head with:
      first head: unpossessed Marcus
      second head: possessed Marcus

I wouldn’t be so quick to decide.

If you want to imagine Sutekh returning to meet the Doctor AFTER that story, you would be better off having this figure because the jackel head was the appearance he had when the Doctor trapped him in that time vortex thingy. 😉

      September 20th, 2012 - 12:49pm

To josh, you mean the Vervoids, the Cleaners and the Bannermen ?

Yes, I’d like all those figures, Gavrok from “Delta and the Bannermen” would be good.

I also want some new figures of the Sixth Doctor, that one from Season 22 is allright but I want him from Trial of a Timelord already ! ❗

Awesome, I love this set and £20 can’t be right when it’s 25 for two figures.

    Must be a mistake.

Anyway, I would probably get THIS one because the last time we saw Sutehk this is how he looked, so if he came back, THIS is probably what his appearance would be ! Savy ❓
